Friends of the Rosary,Historically, today, September 25, is the commemoration of Our Lady of Ransom. The Blessed Virgin appeared in separate visions to St. Peter Nolasco, St. Raymond of Penafort, and James, King of Aragon, in 1218, asking them to found a religious order dedicated to freeing Christian captives from the barbarous Saracens, also known as Moors, who at the time held a significant part of Spain. On August 10, 1218, King James established the royal, military, and religious Order of our Lady of Ransom, first known as the Order of St. Eulalia, now known as the Mercedarian Order, with most of the members being knights. Many became heroes of charity who collected alms for the ransom of Christians, and often gave themselves up in exchange for Christian prisoners. This feast was extended to the whole Church by Innocent XII in the 17th century.Additionally, in England today, the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham is observed. In 1061, the lady of the manor of Walsingham, Richeldis de Faverches, was instructed by a vision of the Virgin Mary to build in her village an exact replica of the house in Nazareth in which the Annunciation had taken place. The original house was destroyed by Henry VIII, but by 1897, the chapel had been reconstructed, and pilgrimage was restored for both Anglicans and Catholics. On March 29, 2020, England was rededicated as the “Dowry of Mary,” with Our Lady of Walsingham being the central Marian devotion around the rededication.Ave Maria!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! She was born of Christian parents in Barcelona, and dedicated herself to a life of holiness, taking Christ as her bridegroom. When the persecutor Dacian came to Barcelona, Eulalia secretly left her parents' house by night and came before Dacian, denouncing him in front of many witnesses as a murderer of the innocent, and publicly confessing her faith in Christ. The wicked Dacian had her stripped and beaten, then tied to a tree in the form of a cross, and ordered that her flesh be burned with torches. When her torturer mockingly asked 'Where is your Christ to save you?' she answered 'He is here with me; you cannot see Him because of your impurity.' When the holy Eulalia died at last under torture, the people saw a white dove fly from her mouth. An unseasonable snowstorm then covered her naked body like a white garment.

What does it mean to be truely free? In todays podcast we meet Kyan, a film director and musician, who made a film called "The Last Free Man on Earth," about Alex. A man who has lived in a cave for the past 9 years in Punta Galera. In search of enlightenment, the platinum-selling record producer left his hedonistic life behind and through the best part of a decade he has learned to live life in a much more rustic fashion in the thick of things down south. Kyan got stuck in Ibiza in lockdown and decided to stay a little longer and make his very first film after meeting Alex, taking almost 2 years to study and shoot his new friend over many sessions. The film recently debuted at the Ibiza Cine Fest in santa Eulalia and Jo goes to meet Kyan after watching it at his studio in Cala Llonga for todays conversation.
In this episode, we explore wildfire's impact on industrial fire safety with Professor Eulàlia Planas from Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya. Eulalia defines the term Wildland Industrial Interface (WII), a realm where the forces of nature clash with safety and process engineering. In the episode, we highlight that it is not just the exposure to the fire itself but also to the secondary effects - ember storms, firebrand accumulation, strong winds or power shutdowns that may cause significant damage. Also, even if the wildfires do not cause fires directly, they may damage auxiliary systems, creating unacceptable vulnerabilities in the plant. Finally, we discuss what is the challenge of shutting the plant down and evacuating it.In the episode, we will present the differences to traditional risk assessments when confronted with wildfire behaviour and investigate scenarios in which even the most robust chemical plants can succumb to the fire.Further reading includes:- Fires at the wildland-industrial interface. Is there an emerging problem?- Asset Integrity in the Case of Wildfires at Wildland-Industrial Interfaces- Vulnerability of industrial storage tanks to wildfire: A case study - Analysis of the impact of wildla----The Fire Science Show is produced by the Fire Science Media in collaboration with OFR Consultants.

Join Author, Speaker and Activist John Amanchukwu as he draws powerful parallels between the present sufferings of this world and the future glory promised in Romans 8:18, using the compelling examples of the Martyrdom of Stephen, Polycarp, and Eulalia of Barcelona.
