Crédits de l'épisode :- "Crie hie" (Eugene Fredy / Jérôme Rastello)- "Shake it off" (Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Johnta Austin)- "Get your number" feat. By 2012, Tim Howard had established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. As Everton's starter, he regularly placed in the top four of various statistical categories and helped The Toffees inch their way towards the upper half of the table. At the same time, Howard was well established as the first choice keeper for the US Men's National Team. However, in his illustrious career a few moments still rise above the rest. One such moment was the goal Howard scored against Bolton on January 4, 2012. For both the sheer rarity and excellence of the feat, as well as the way he handled it, Howard endeared himself to American soccer fans in a way that highlighted a legendary career. Steve Jolley played ten years in Major League Soccer (MLS) for the LA Galaxy, NY/NJ MetroStars and FC Dallas. He was named an All-Star in 2001 when he was teammates with Tim Howard. Jolley joined Founding Futbol to recount his time playing with Howard, talk about what made him special on and off the field and so much more. He remembers when Howard left for the Premier League and talks about Founding Futbol is a year-long exploration of the critical moments that have led to soccer's emerging popularity in America. Spandau Ballet's 'True', Imagination's 'Body Talk', Bananarama's 'Cruel Summer', are just some of the albums (and also the singles) that Tony Swain, one-half of the production duo Jolley and Swain produced during the early to mid-1980s.In the mid-1970s, Tony's career started as a camera operator on The Muppets where he witnessed many star performances, maybe the strangest one, the Bowie-Bing Crosby duet 'Little Drummer Boy'.But it was in 1981 that his production skills were first feted after producing Imagination's 'Body Talk', an album so new and fresh, that Frankie Knuckles cited one track - Burnin' Up as an influence on House Music. Even Madonna, whose career was about to make it through the wilderness, called him up, desperate to work with him. But Tony's schedule didn't fit with hers. Instead, he, along with Steve Jolley went on to produce the first two albums with Imagination, and work with Spandau Ballet, Bananarama, and Alison Moyet.Tony's story is of a man who has remained fascinated by technology, and its uses in creating new and inventive sounds. One of the reasons he believes is why the 80s remain attractive to music lovers today.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/pop-the-history-makers-with-steve-blame/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy Hosted on Acast. As the glamour of New Wave made its way through the UK music scene with acts like Visage, Duran Duran, and Spandau Ballet, a band made out of three black men was making the most, sashaying into TV studios with an extravagant image and hypnotic tunes to match. Vocalist Leee John, bassist Ashley Ingram, and drummer Errol Kennedy ruled both the charts and the dancefloors with their own silky and soulful "Imagination" sound, created in collaboration with innovative production team Steve Jolley and Tony Swain, later architects of pop classics recorded by Spandau, Alison Moyet, and Bananarama. In this special CHOONS episode, Leee takes a trip back to his days working the pub circuit and learning from the greats, his pre-Imagination recordings, the inspiration behind his first hit singles with the band, and the treacherous session that led to one of the most unforgettable floor-fillers of the 1980s.Show Tracklisting:Just An Illusion - Nightdubbing Version (Imagination)Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet (Gonzalez)Walk On The Wild Side (Lou Reed)Body Talk (Imagination)Burnin' Up (Imagination)I'll Always Love You (But Don't Look Back) (Imagination)Flashback (Imagination)True (Spandau Ballet)Just An Illusion - Instrumental (Imagination)Just An Illusion (Imagination)In The Heat of The Night (Imagination)Pre-order Imagination featuring Leee John "40 Years" Limited Edition Box Set Out February 2023: https://leeejohn.lnk.to/imagination40Leee John on Social Media:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/leeejohnofficial/Twitter: https://twitter.com/leeejohnFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/LeeeJohnWebsite: https://www.leeejohn.com/Host and Producer: Diego MartinezExecutive Producer: Nicholas "NickFresh" PuzoAudio Engineer: Adam FogelFollow us on social media: @choonspodSubscribe to our PATREON: patreon.com/choonspod
