It's been a while since both teams have had similar levels of playoff fever, but FC Cincinnati and Nashville SC are both in positions to qualify for the MLS Cup playoffs. The big question then becomes...which team qualifies first? While Pat Noonan's branch of the Philadelphia coaching pipeline has produced repeated dividends, let's not forget that B.J. Callaghan was coaching aside Jim Curtin first with the Union. Callaghan has Nashville on the brink of returning to the playoffs after missing it in 2024. We chat with Wes from Club & Country to dissect the Nashville squad and ask if the recent swoon is a cause for concern. On the heels of a 12-match undefeated streak and a deep U.S. Open Cup run, was the team wise to not bring in new talent during the transfer window? And when the rubber hits the road—we both loved that tire pun—which team will leave TQL with the better result? Tune in and trade threads with us! #MLS #FCCincinnati #soccer Become a Patron! In this episode, with absolutely no preparation or knowledge of the game against Philly, Jon attempts to talk intelligently about the team's performance. Ryan and Evan assemble a myriad of trivia questions to see if Jon can guess the outcome of the game, and then once the result is revealed, they all celebrate an ASTOUNDING win by the boys in gold. Much praise is heaped on the legend Hany Mukhtar as well as young Johnny Long Sleeves and the rock of NSC, Patrick Yazbek. And of course, since it was Philly, there is much lamenting of the refs and all the missing fouls from the game. The boys celebrate the winning penalty kick by highlighting the wonder of McKay's Used Books and Music, and they also discuss how amazing the fans were at the Philly game, and how it was the crowd that made the real difference. Then, they dust off the crystal balls to make predictions for the upcoming Open Cup game versus DC and a serious challenge looming with Miami. And they drink beer.
