If there was a huge asteroid hurtling toward Earth threatening to destroy life as we know it and you could see one more show before you die, what would it be? It can be anything you want - a show you've seen before, one that you wish you'd seen, or something you've made up entirely. What would be YOUR Last Show on Earth? This is the podcast in which we ask a special guest the big, BIG question that nobody ever needed or bothered to ask. Our guest this episode is Trevor Dion NicholasOriginally from West Virginia in the United States, Trevor came to London in 2016 to play the Genie in the original West End production of Disney's Aladdin. He has been a judge on ITV show All Star Musicals and is the first guest on this podcast to earn a two-part episode! We talked to Trevor for so long and in such great detail that we had to split the chat into two parts. In the second half of my conversation with Trevor Dion Nicholas (London's George Washington), we dive into the rest of his Hamilton story including standing firm in his desire to audition for GWash and only GWash. Plus, we talk politics and how and when to separate the art from the artist. Or, you know, separate the genius writings from the terrible person. Looking at you, Thomas Jefferson! We do take a short detour to share our love for artists like incubus, foo fighters, and Ben folds and then we wrap up with the Patreon peeps. Yeah, we cover a lot of ground! He didn't smash watermelons, he smashed cups of yogurt. After memorizing entire Gallagher comedy routines as a kid in West Virginia, Trevor Dion Nicholas and his family always loved musical theater. His parents encouraged him to follow his passion and put him into improv and theater classes. Being a "big black kid in West Virginia", the expectations put upon him were that he'd focus on sports. Able to put that pressure aside, he found his extended family on stage, and now a new home in London. Now West End royalty, he is co-hosting THE SHOW MUST GO ON LIVE AT THE PALACE THEATRE with fellow theater legend Bonnie Langford. "Theatre is not a passion, it's a profession." The Show Must Go On Live at the Palace Theatre is set to be the biggest celebration of musical theatre this year with 18 of the biggest musicals in London West End all performing! Including Tina, Dear Evan Hansen, Everybody's Talking About Jamie, SIX, Hamilton, The Book of Mormon, Wicked, Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda The Musical, & Juliet, Les Misérables, Disney's The Lion King, The Prince of Egypt, Come From Away, The Phantom Of The Opera, Mary Poppins, Mamma Mia! Back to the Future The Musical and Pretty Woman The Musical along with a thrilling line-up of West End talent, a multi award winning creative team and the finest musicians in London.
