“My father could have been a great comedian but he didn't believe that that was possible for him, and so he made a conservative choice. Instead, he got a safe job as an accountant and when I was 12 years old he was let go from that safe job, and our family had to do whatever we could to survive. I learned many great lessons from my father. Not the least of which was that: You can fail at what you don't want. So you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.” ― Jim CarreyLink to the full speech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V80-gPkpH6M&t=0sSpeaker:Jim CarreyMusic:Borrtex: https://borrtex.bandcamp.com/▶Subscribe for New Motivational Videos :https://bit.ly/thyoutubesubscribe▶SHOP Motivational Canvases and Apparel! -https://bit.ly/motiversityshop▶BECOME A MEMBER of our loyal community-https://bit.ly/thmembers Hosted on Acast. I'm really excite to share this topic with you today. So many of us worry about failing in life. As a result we don't take chances and we continue to work at job we don't enjoy, doing things that we are tired of doing, and maintaining a mediocre life. Jim Carrey gave a commencement address back in 2011 where he made a statement that I absolutely loved. He said, "you can fail at what you don't want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love." I really think we can learn a ton from that statement. Take a chance on pursuig your dreams. Take a chance on doing what you love. Bet on yourself, and you will reap the rewards. Thanks for listening. Copyright Jim Carrey at MIU: Commencement Address at the 2014 Graduation Jim Carrey gave the commencement address to Maharishi International University (MIU)'s class of 2014. MIU (http://www.miu.edu) granted degrees to 285 students representing 54 countries. The University Board of Trustees also presented Mr. Carrey with the honorary degree of Doctor of Fine Arts Honoris Causa, in recognition of his significant lifetime achievements as a world-renowned comedian and actor, artist, author and philanthropist. I still remember to this day when I heard this speech from Jim Carrey. And it blew my mind. I was just beginning to dabble in the world of personal growth so if you are new to this, it can be a lot to take in. As it had such a profound impact on me and how I see life, I am resharing this. Thanks to Greet Bunnens for pointing me again to this great talk ! Enjoy Jim Carrey !
