What is the Alaskan Outlaw podcast? The podcast is a way to provide others with decades of experience in health & safety, to include personal security. With decades of experience, I hope to relay information to my listeners to assist them in making informed decisions. In addition, I have a wealth of knowledge in human psychology and intelligence from my studies within the US military. I have since studied psychology as an adult educator and hope to bring an understanding of what makes people do the things they do. Constantly asking. Why? Why do people do the things they do, and how can we keep ourselves and our families safe by knowing how our communities will react to certain events.
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. Whether we are moving in a vehicle, or traveling by foot, being aware of suspicious situations before they enlarge is a big key to winning. However, there remains a balance between being hypervigilant and being over-zealous, knowing that threshold is really what makes us successful in our bids to remain safe and secure.
In this episode the team discusses the differences between living in a single residence home, versus that of multiple families, or apartment/condos type of arrangements. We'll discuss some additional topics that need to be considered when sharing a limited pool of resources among a certain number of apartments, like power or water. We'll broach the subject about the potential of someone breaking in via the walls, ceilings, or even floors and how to protect against it. Season 3, Episode 20Each year in the United States over 358,000 house fires require assistance from the local fire department, and that doesn't even count the times some dinner may have gotten a little out of hand but was contained. In most of the deaths associated with home fires, faulty or missing smoke detectors are the blame for that one. However, today I'd like to talk about fire safety, both inside and outside, because one is no more likely than the other.
In this episode we have a candid conversation with Wayne Mulder, a long-time police officer in Florida.
Podcast Season 3 episode 18Today I'd like to spend some time talking about many different aspects of basic security protocols that could be used during that sacred evening of sugar overload. Most of us don't think about security on the night of fun, however, it's also the most opportunistic.
Special Episode: Being prepared for an earthquake. Some common sense tricks and tips to help us recover from one of nature's most destructive events.
Today I'd like to talk about the stereotypes we hear about all the time about “those guys” who wear cammies, don't talk much and are as backwater as they come. This can be no further from the truth, as a matter-of-fact, many high tech gadgetry is associated with survival as disaster preparedness. Those out there who decide to listen to the naysayers of the world, wind up in a really bad place, when they really don't. I'd like to clear up some misconceptions about being prepared.

In an earlier episode of “Security Management” magazine they broached the topic of theft during, and immediately following a large scale natural disaster. On many shows here at the Chaotic Navigator we have discussed the “opportunistic criminals” that have typically lurked in the shadows of these larger scale events (do you remember the BLM protests that turned into riots). These types of incidents are driven by the criminal elements among us to distract us from their petty theft.
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. For those of you who struggle with navigation, here is some basic info.
Every day we receive emails and snail mail about how life will be so much better when zombies are free to decimate the less prepared, or weaker of those among us. I started to really think about what life in this world would be like when the zombie apocalypse was over.
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. I am Murphy Ganz, the Alaska Outlaw and today I'd like to talk about those first couple of days following a natural disaster. I want to talk about the matrix we used, but just as importantly, I want to call out those things we need to know that first couple of hours after the disaster strikes.
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. I am Murphy Ganz, the Alaska Outlaw and today I'd like to cut out the bullshit that flies around the internet about being scared, or I love hearing the idiots who tell me they are taking my stuff when disaster strikes. I just tell them “yea, good luck with that plan”.
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. I am Murphy Ganz, the Alaska Outlaw and today I'd like to vent a little about the many different political influences we have within our lives. Whether it be the city council reducing the effectiveness of the local police department, or emergency medical services, or the national governmental policies about recreational drug use and all the other impacts these have on our lives.

Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. I am Murphy Ganz, the Alaska Outlaw and today I would like to speak to those who have just figured out they need to be prepared, but may be confused as to how to start. Today, I'd like to take a minute to discuss some basic necessities, some of them are FREE!! That's right boys and girls, I said free!
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. I am Murphy Ganz, the Alaska Outlaw and today I would like to talk about knowing your neighbors. Just like we've witnessed internationally, alliances bind people together in times of troubles, which is why it should be a critical component to your prep to get to know your neighbors. Like we are currently seeing in Eastern Europe, Poland is a part of an alliance that will engage many different countries if it's drawn into the war against Ukraine.
In this episode Murphy sits down with Betsey Kulakowski and discusses being prepared in the real world.

Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. I am the Alaska Outlaw and today I would like to discuss about the fourth in a series of our “fab five” by discussing the three weeks without food. Not only concerning ourselves with having food, but having the right food stores to sustain us throughout a disaster. When considering the nutrition necessary to survive, we need to account for those among our teams who may have special needs.
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. I am the Alaska Outlaw and today I would like to discuss about the third in a series of our “fab five” by discussing the three days without water. In addition, we need to consider the acquisition of usable water for the multiple uses it's going to have keeping us alive.
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. I am the Alaska Outlaw and today I would like to discuss about the second in a series of our “fab five” by discussing the control of temperature we expose our bodies to during a disaster. As we may recall, the “fab five” is based on the unwritten “rule of three” that most in the survival/preparedness arena have established as the needs for successful survival. Today, I want to continue this series by talking about having some boundaries to the temperature we expose ourselves to, and more specifically combining exposures to amplify the effect.
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. I am the Alaska Outlaw and today I would like to discuss about the first in a series of our “fab five” by talking to the air we breathe. As we may recall, the “fab five” is based on the unwritten “rule of three” that most in the survival/preparedness arena have established as the needs for successful survival. Today, I want to open this series by talking about being without clean air for longer than three minutes.
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. I am the Alaska Outlaw and today I would like to discuss the necessity of researching the information we receive. How can we apply filtering, especially if it's information we are going to be passing on to others. Given that many of the threats facing us average citizens today are based in a framework of time relativity.
Regardless of whether you're protecting a dad-bod, bad-bod, or all those bods that make up the human race, you want to make sure that you are keeping it safe. We've talked before about avoiding unnecessary risks, and we're going to look at that today. In addition, during the “fab five”, do y'all remember that? Awww YEAH!! The fab five had that fifth item added to the original rule of three that made up the other items within the list. We need to keep ourselves safe and healthy, particularly during that time of a disaster. Its the little things that are going to bite us in the ass.
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast. In addition, I want to discuss ideas about search operations for locating lost persons.
Each week we look at a different facet of what being prepared looks like in the real world of everyday. It is absolutely awesome to be back with you guys here for another adventure of discovery and obtaining the super power of common sense. Today I want to put a new lens on the old eyeballs and look at the topics with a different perspective. Today, I want us to spend a little time going over being a little more assertive in our defensive planning. So, like we do, we're going to break it down into three segments.Segment 1 - Perimeter protections, and extending the perimeter safely.Segment 2 - Ensuring the whole choir is on the same page of music.Segment 3 - The application and understand of “Deadly Force”.
Alrighty then, we're back for another exciting adventure here on the Chaotic Navigator podcast.
