#135 – Welcome to another minisode of the Chloe Made Me Study podcast. Each Monday, I will release a super short episode designed to share one studying idea, strategy or mindset shift that will help you start your study week off feeling focused, productive and confident. These minisodes will help you shake off any negative studying baggage from the week before and offer a moment to pause, reflect and change your approach so you can move off in a new, more successful direction. In this week's minisode, we're gonna normalise something that is not spoken about nearly enough; the fact that studying is SUPPOSED to be hard. To learn effectively involves a significant amount of uncomfortable, stretching processes. The issue comes when students believe that finding studying really difficult is a sign that they're just not that great at it. And when we regularly feel unconfident as learners we're more likely to procrastinate, self-sabotage and just generally feel poopy. So this episode is going to give you the perspective shift and confidence boost you need to enjoy the rollercoaster journey of studying a heck of a lot more. #131 – I am a HUGE fan of studying in a way that fits into your life, and learning from home is a great option for many students, however there is one pretty hefty disadvantage of distance learning. Isolation. Studying at home alone. Studying without ever meeting your peers. Studying without much interaction with your tutor. There are lots of practical issues with this but there is one area that's often overlooked – the emotional toll of studying by yourself. It can be harder to motivate yourself to study, and more difficult to pick yourself back up after a setback. It can be a struggle to keep yourself disciplined and focused too. But don't worry. Today's episode is all about addressing this biggest disadvantage of distance learning. I'm going to share multiple ways that you can feel more connected in your studies and we'll dive into exactly how you can become a calmer, more focused student and how you can more easily make positive changes in your studying. Sound good? OK, let's dive in. To get the links and shownotes for this episode, head to: https://chloeburroughs.com/episode131. Enrol in the Kickbutt Students Club.
