PRE-SEASON IS DONE...NOW WHAT? Tabs is back from holiday and pre‑season is finally done. The games were flat, the heatwave was ridiculous, and half the squad is still recovering from the longest World Cup ever but now things get serious. Jamie joins to break down what we learned, what we didn't, and what actually matters heading into the new Premier League season.Pre‑Season Overview Arsenal beat Girona, lost to Betis and Dortmund, drew with Como, and played a behind‑closed‑doors friendly. With so many players away, pre‑season was more about fitness than form. Hale End kids like MLS, Dowman, Salmon and Nwaneri impressed, while Tzolis looked the most “ready” of the new faces.Highlights & Lowlights Tzolis' versatility, two‑footedness and set‑piece quality stood out. Ben White's return was important given Timber and Saliba's absences. Meslier looked sharp and has likely overtaken Kepa as No.2. Defensive shakiness vs Betis and Dortmund was noted but contextualised; missing Rice, Saka, Saliba, Timber, Raya, Ødegaard and more.Transfers & Squad Shape This is where things get interesting. Bruno Guimarães arrives as a major reinforcement, giving Arsenal a midfield of Bruno, Merino, Zubimendi and MLS before Rice even returns. We discuss what Bruno actually offers; progression, aggression, end product, and the ability to play with or instead of Rice.MLS is now a genuine midfield option, not just a cameo kid. His presence changes rotation, changes depth, but is he surplus to requirements? Do we cash in? Rumours of touting to Chelsea & Man Utd ... there's no smoke without fire. Hale End bond v The Business of Football.Martinelli's situation gets a proper look too: why his PL output dipped, why his Champions League numbers were elite, and why the tactical environment last season didn't suit him. With Bruno, Calafiori, Ødegaard and Havertz all fit, we talk about whether Martinelli could bounce back or do we cash in for a decent fee?We also cover the right‑hand side of defence: Mosquera + White will be the pairing until Saliba and Timber return. We talk about how that might hold up, and what type of reinforcements may be neededAre Arsenal Ready? Probably not fully; but neither is anyone else. The World Cup has left the entire league undercooked. Arsenal's opening fixtures (Coventry, Villa, Chelsea, Brighton, Sunderland) will require patience and smart rotation. The key is not giving rivals a leg‑up and managing fitness carefully. Nine or ten points from the first five games, plus beating Chelsea, would be a strong start.Community Shield Preview Still technically pre‑season, but a useful test. Arsenal will be leggy, City will be leggy, and the result won't define anything but it will be fun to win and will give clues about early‑season combinations.Closing Pre‑season is done. The real stuff starts now. Arsenal look settled, experienced, and ready to grind through the early fixtures before hitting stride. In this episode, Tabs explores why August 12, 2026 is such an interesting date in the sky—and why it has captured her attention from both an astronomical and spiritual perspective.Several celestial events are coming together around the same time, including a total solar eclipse, the peak of the Perseid meteor shower, and multiple planets visible in the morning sky. But beyond what's happening astronomically, Tabs asks a bigger question: Does the timing of all of this carry any deeper significance? She dives into the history and symbolism surrounding eclipses, meteor showers, planetary cycles, and our ancient relationship with the night sky—including how civilizations watched celestial events long before we had modern calendars and technology to tell us when they were coming.Tabs also explores the spiritual interpretations surrounding this date, including themes of endings, beginnings, transformation, and the significance some associate with Leo season and the Lion's Gate period—while separating what we know astronomically from what we choose to interpret spiritually. If you've been hearing about August 12, 2026 and wondering why everyone is talking about it, this episode brings all the pieces together in one place.Tune in for a fascinating look at what's happening in the sky, the history behind it, and what this moment might invite us to reflect on in our own lives.Mediumship 101 Class https://www.tabsmccaffrey.com/development-pageInterested in booking a 1:1 session with Tabs? In this episode, Tabs is revisiting one of the practices that started her spiritual journey long before mediumship: the Akashic Records. What exactly are the Akashic Records? How do you access them? What can you ask once you're there—and can anyone learn how to connect with them?Tabs shares how she first discovered the Akashic Records through Linda Howe's How to Read the Akashic Records, why she committed to a 30-day self-study, and how that simple practice became an important foundation for developing her intuition and spiritual abilities. She also shares how her understanding of the Records has evolved over the years, including something she once resisted: past lives. After experiencing past life regression herself and witnessing it through her work with others, Tabs began seeing how unexplained fears, emotions, relationships, and patterns in this lifetime may sometimes connect to experiences beyond it.You'll learn what the Akashic Records are, the types of questions they're especially helpful for, how to begin exploring your own Records, and why you don't need to have everything figured out before you start.Whether you're completely new to the Akashic Records, curious about past lives and soul purpose, or looking for another way to strengthen your intuition, this episode offers a practical and grounded place to begin.Tune in for an updated look at the Akashic Records, what Tabs believes today, and why this practice continues to be such an important part of her spiritual journey.Mediumship 101 Class https://www.tabsmccaffrey.com/development-pageInterested in booking a 1:1 session with Tabs? In this episode, Tabs shares a remarkable mediumship reading that took an unexpected turn when a glowing orb appeared on camera. As a loved one in Spirit delivered message after message, both Tabs and her client witnessed the orb drift across the screen—creating one of those unforgettable moments that leaves you wondering if Spirit is showing us more than we realize. That experience sparked a bigger conversation:What are orbs?Tabs explores the different perspectives surrounding spirit orbs, why they're often associated with loved ones in Spirit, and what she has personally observed after years of working as a medium. She also discusses why some people capture orbs on camera while others never do, the difference between dust and genuine anomalies, and why these experiences tend to happen during moments of heightened spiritual connection. You'll also hear about one small town that has become famous for its mysterious orbs and its long-standing connection to psychic phenomena, along with Tabs' thoughts on why certain locations seem to carry unique energetic qualities.Whether you've seen an orb yourself, captured one in a photo, or are simply curious about what they might represent, this episode invites you to explore the phenomenon with an open mind and a grounded perspective.Tune in for an incredible story, fascinating history, and an exploration of one of the most talked-about experiences in the world of mediumship.Mediumship 101 Class https://www.tabsmccaffrey.com/development-pageInterested in booking a 1:1 session with Tabs? What if the calendar we follow isn't the only way to measure our lives?Tabs dives into the fascinating history of the Gregorian calendar—where it came from, why it replaced earlier calendars, and how it reshaped the way we experience time, productivity, and even our connection to nature. She also explores the lunar calendar, how ancient civilizations lived in rhythm with the moon, and what may have been gained—or lost—through the transition.Along the way, Tabs discusses the historical connection between calendars, governments, taxation, religion, and the industrialization of society, while asking thought-provoking questions about how the systems we live within influence our daily lives. You'll discover:Why the Gregorian calendar was createdHow the lunar calendar differs from the one we use todayWhat living in harmony with natural cycles can teach usHow reconnecting with seasonal and lunar rhythms may support intuition, creativity, and overall well-beingWhether you're interested in history, spirituality, or simply questioning the way we've always done things, this episode invites you to explore time from an entirely new perspective.Tune in for a fascinating conversation that bridges history, consciousness, and the rhythms of nature—and discover why something as ordinary as a calendar may have shaped your life more than you ever realized.Mediumship 101 Class https://www.tabsmccaffrey.com/development-pageInterested in booking a 1:1 session with Tabs? Tabs is joined by Ian (@arsecannonpics) to break down the match, the Hale End takeover, the transfer noise and what's coming next. The pair dig into:Girona Review A strong starting XI mixed non‑World Cup players with early returners, and it was great to see Ben White back after his injury scare. Timber's continued absence remains a worry, but this game offered important minutes for players who will be covering early‑season gaps.Highlights & Lowlights Dowman stole the show with an assist and a goal. Tzolis looked lively and confident on the left. Meslier made sharp saves (despite Perry Groves calling him “Kepa” all night). Hale End kids impressed across the board.Lowlights: Nelson and Vieira still floating around the fringes.Match Breakdown Havertz opened the scoring after a brilliant Dowman turn and pass. Tzolis added a second with a deflected finish. Girona pulled one back from a corner before Dowman made it 3–1 with a composed strike. Jesus capitalised on Ben White's tackle to make it 4–1. The game fizzled into fitness‑mode once the conveyor belt of subs arrived.Transfers Bruno Guimarães — Deal close: £70m + add‑ons. Medical reportedly imminent. He brings passion, energy, leadership, and title hunger. Newcastle look like they're imploding — manager gone, best players sold, Tindall out. Welcome to Episode 102 of our Mediumship Podcast! In this episode, Tabs takes you down one of the biggest rabbit holes she's explored yet: the theory of time.Is time really linear? Or could the past, present, and future all exist simultaneously?Drawing from both science and spirituality, Tabs explores some of the most fascinating theories about the nature of time and what they might mean for our everyday lives. From quantum physics and consciousness to past lives, déjà vu, intuition, manifestation, and soul evolution, she pieces together different perspectives to ask one compelling question:What if we've misunderstood time all along?Tabs discusses how our perception of time shapes our experiences, why certain moments seem destined to happen, and how understanding time differently can change the way we think about healing, purpose, and spiritual growth. She also shares her own reflections on how this theory has influenced her work as a medium and her understanding of the soul's journey. This episode isn't about having all the answers—it's about exploring possibilities, expanding your perspective, and encouraging you to think beyond what you've always believed to be true.Tune in for a fascinating conversation where science, spirituality, and consciousness intersect—and discover why time may be far more mysterious than we've ever imagined.Mediumship 101 Class https://www.tabsmccaffrey.com/development-pageInterested in booking a 1:1 session with Tabs? An NFL quarterback's coach gives him one rule on game day. No phone. Not less phone. None. Because of what it does to him before he's even taken a snap: how he sees, how fast he sorts what matters from what doesn't, how much noise he carries onto the field. Most of us start every day the exact way that quarterback is told not to. Already loud. Already full. Already carrying. This one is about the cost you're paying and never counted. The pile you've stopped seeing. The project you left half-open eight months ago. The storage unit you pay for and step around. A Yale study found your brain is working on all of it, everything in your field of vision, whether you choose to look at it or not. And here's the part that changes things: the weight of carrying those open loops is heavier than the work of closing them. So we're closing tabs. Not organizing them. Closing them. Inside, I get into the two ways to close any open loop (only one of them is finishing it), why pouring in more energy never fixes a leak, and the two tabs I handed my husband this month. Find one open thing this week. Close it. Notice what comes back. In this episode: Why clutter you're not even looking at still taxes your brain, and what the Yale research actually says The difference between carrying the work and carrying the open Offense versus defense: protecting your energy before the day spends it for you The Close the Tabs challenge, and how to pick a cadence you'll actually keep If you're ready to stop carrying it, this is the work we do inside DEFENSE. Welcome to Episode 99 of our Mediumship Podcast! In this episode, Tabs shares one of the biggest lessons her spiritual journey continues to teach her: learning to give yourself grace. It all started with a recent conversation inside one of her mentorship sessions—a reminder that even as we teach, we're often still learning the lesson ourselves.Tabs opens up about the pressure she put on herself during the early days of her podcast. Every Wednesday meant a new episode, no matter what. Whether she was exhausted, grieving, overwhelmed, or navigating life's biggest challenges, she believed consistency meant never missing a beat. But over time, she realized something profound:Consistency and self-sacrifice are not the same thing. In this heartfelt episode, Tabs explores the programming so many of us have inherited—from hustle culture, perfectionism, and childhood expectations—that convinces us our worth is tied to our productivity. She shares how mediumship, grief, and becoming more aware of her own energy taught her that life moves in seasons, and that honoring those seasons isn't weakness—it's wisdom. You'll learn:Why giving yourself grace doesn't mean giving up The difference between discipline and self-punishment How to recognize what you truly have capacity for Why rest is an essential part of growth—not the opposite of it Practical ways to release perfectionism and create a life that feels sustainableIf you've been pushing yourself too hard, feeling guilty for slowing down, or believing you have to earn your rest, this episode is a gentle reminder that your value isn't measured by how much you accomplish.Tune in for an honest conversation about letting go of perfection, embracing your current season, and discovering that sometimes the greatest act of growth is simply being kinder to yourself.Mediumship 101 Class https://www.tabsmccaffrey.com/development-pageInterested in booking a 1:1 session with Tabs? As you may have heard in last week's episode, the Culture Gabfest is hanging up its microphones after 18 years of cultural commentary. But before our final episode, we've still got much to discuss! On this special guest-packed show, Steve, Dana, and Nadira Goffe have the power! That is the power to get into it with VSFOP Jamelle Bouie about Masters of the Universe, the latest attempt by Mattel to launch their own cinematic universe. They assess the state of IP-driven superhero movies and whether this newest entry—starring Nicholas Galitzine, as the buff, loin cloth-wearing He-Man, and Jared Leto, as the slightly lascivious Skeletor—is more than brand management.Next, they turn to the wild, surreal revenge thriller Is God Is, written and directed by Aleshea Harris based on her stageplay. They talk about how this tale of twin sisters seeking vengeance fits into the growing pantheon of Black horror as well as the ancient canon of revenge tragedies. Finally, and for the final time, it's time to talk about Taylor Swift. In the wake of her newest release, the song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, the gang assembles one more time to take up the long-simmering Tay debate. Jody Rosen and Julia jump on the call/enter the Thunderdome for this, of course. In a bonus episode for Slate Plus subscribers, the panel pours one out for the recently shuttered Hampshire College and reflects on the changing landscape of the liberal arts.EndorsementsDana: The interactive, Jazz-playing, transit-obsessed, single purpose website Train Jazz. Deepak Bapat, CTO and co founder at Tabs, joins The Tech Trek to talk about how his team is using tools like Claude Code and Cursor, where AI is helping, and why systems thinking may matter more than raw coding ability as engineering work shifts.Practical Takeaways• AI coding agents are already producing useful production work, but judgment still matters.• Tool choice may be less important than standardizing the expected output.• Messy repos can make AI generated work harder to trust, so cleanup and patterns matter.• The future engineer may look more like a product engineer with strong systems thinking.• Teams may move from debating features to rapidly building multiple versions and testing what works.Timestamped Highlights00:37What Tabs does and why contracts create hard revenue workflow problems for B2B finance teams.02:16Deepak compares pre AI engineering work with the current shift toward AI assisted development.05:09How the Tabs engineering team uses Claude Code, Cursor, and other coding tools in real work.08:13Why inconsistent codebases create more risk when teams add coding agents14:00The idea that teams can build the same feature multiple ways in one afternoon.20:53Deepak's view on whether the future team needs separate PMs and engineers, or more product engineers.23:38A future where software can become more bespoke to each customer because AI changes the cost model. One Line That Stuck“You can build on three different work trees the same feature in three different ways and see which one you like, and you can do it all in an afternoon.”Practical Moves From The Conversation• Keep humans close to the review process, especially when the last five percent still requires taste and judgment.• Clean up inconsistent code patterns before letting agents operate broadly across the repo.• Hire for adaptability, systems thinking, and problem solving, not just past tool familiarity.• Use AI to explore more product options faster, but do not remove the need to ask whether the feature should exist.Subscribe or follow The Tech Trek for more conversations on how technical teams are building, hiring, and operating as AI changes the work.
