In Coaching over Coffee, Episode 151, I answer the question: "Why Do I Save My Calories for Later in the Day? How Do I Stop Feeling Like I Have to Save Up My Food for Later?” ~ Here is a hint, (but I encourage you to listen to the full episode still): Yes, you are worthy of all things in abundance. BUT....will you allow yourself to believe it? What you are experiencing, I have also experienced. This comes from a scarcity mindset. When you live life from a place of lack...you believe you aren't allowed to have something or you are afraid you won't have enough of something, you go against what it is you actually want....ABUNDANCE and FREEDOM of that very thing. Creating Boundaries and Building Confidence: A Personal JourneyI used to say "Yes" to everything. "Yes, I'll do this. Yes, I'll do that." I ended up exhausted, with no boundaries, constantly pushing myself to the brink. I told myself it was because I wanted to be nice and help people, but that was just a lie. The real reason was that I wanted people to like me.Creating boundaries is crucial for feeling in control of our lives. It enhances that psychological safe haven we all crave. It's about more than just setting limits; it's about gaining confidence and realizing that you are in charge of your life. While some people's opinions may matter a little, most don't.One of the biggest boosts to my confidence, beyond stopping the endless self-comparisons, was understanding the power of boundaries and surrounding myself with positive people. Look at the people around you. Are they lifting you up or dragging you down? Surround yourself with those who positively impact your life. Judgmental or critical people can seriously damage your mental strength and self-esteem.If you constantly feel awful about yourself, and you're surrounded by negativity, it will reinforce that negative narrative in your mind. Many people don't realize that their closest friends, partners, kids, or even parents can be incredibly negative and harm their self-esteem. Learn to accept these compliments. Recognize the people who genuinely support and uplift you and keep them close.Walking in confidence isn't a quick fix; it's a daily practice. Everyone has to work on this, myself included. Mika, Tia, all of us need to consistently practice building confidence and maintaining boundaries. Don't let your life be defined by negativity, lack of boundaries, or constant comparison. Instead, become familiar with holding your head high, appreciating your unique gifts, and embracing positivity.⭐Get OBSESSED with changing your life. When you get a higher grade it can make you feel like you didn't deserve this success – that you're a fraud who's going to be found out to have gotten here by luck not by skill and hard work. In this episode we're going to break down imposter syndrome to understand it a little more. Then I'm going to share with you three simple strategies you can use to kick imposter syndrome to the curb so that you can study from a more positive place, feel more confident AND ultimately achieve better results that you actually believe you deserve. Do you know what happens if you keep saying yes to everyone?Being a "yes" person for a long time had my life being controlled by other people.I couldn't say "no" because I felt like I was always letting them down when I did. Here's the thing though... Did you know you are always saying no?When you're saying YES to something, you must be saying no to something else.Often times I find I just don't slow down to think about who or what I was actually say NO to.Every time I was saying yes to take on something, I was saying no to everything else I could be doing at that time. That means spending time with my family, working on my business, developing my leadership. It's not a big deal if no one is asking you to do things. But if you're the "go to" person (and we all know you are), it starts to become all consuming. And it doesn't get easier just knowing what I shared with you above. It takes learning a new skill, one that I want to teach you inside this video. It's the "art of saying no" in a way that doesn't make you feel guilty for saying it.If you're someone who wants to stop feeling like others are running your life so you want to take back control of what you say yes and no to WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY, this is the episode for you.If you're looking to take your privacy back head to https://www.officerprivacy.com/marc and never have to worry about your information being out on the internet again!-----------------------------Are you looking for a way to excel in MULTIPLE areas of your life without giving up your family time or health? If so, check out my free 4-Step ‘Influence Blueprint' that will give you the skills you need to confidently lead in your business, at home, in your career, and with yourself so you can excel in all areas without sacrificing family time or burning yourself out. { https://www.mindsetwithmarc.com/leader }And keeping leading from the front! Let's say you want to go for a promotion at your work, but your inner voice keeps telling you that you're an imposter. Who are you to go for this job? Or maybe you are thinking of starting your own business, but you know you're lacking some serious confidence. Don't you have to be super confident right off the bat to do something like that? Or maybe you tried going back to school but you failed your first test so you threw in the towel and haven't been back since. When we talk about personal development topics like confidence, imposter complex, or navigating failure, we often think there is one specific trick or tool that will magically imbue us with all the confidence we desire, get rid of all our self-doubt, or make us immune to hardship. You know… just shittin' glitter over here. Sadly, that isn't the case. This week on the show I chat with my pal, Jane Atkinson, who shares a 5-part Thought Work Model which can help you bust through self-doubt, conjure some serious confidence, and contend with failure like a badass. If you have a hard time getting into an empowering mindset or tend to go down negative rabbit holes on tv or social media, you will definitely want to pull up an ear for this one. This pod explores: Jane's two-prong approach to conjuring confidence… and how you've already proven to yourself that you can be courageous Jane's 24-hour “wallow rule” and how it can help you process your feelings around failure The 5-step Thought Work Model Jane uses to keep her mindset in the right place Understanding imposter complex and what to do about it _____ WANNA HANG WITH ME IN MEXICO? It may be that he can no longer stand on his feet and suffering has shaped his character, but this speech by Pope Francis a few days ago is simply AMAZING! "You can have flaws, be anxious and even be angry, but do not forget that your life is the greatest enterprise in the world. Only you can stop it from failing. You are appreciated, admired and loved by so many. Remember that being happy is not having a sky without storm, a road without accidents, a job without effort, a relationship without disappointments. “To be happy is to stop feeling like a victim and become the author of your own fate.” It's walking through deserts, but being able to find an oasis deep in the soul. It's thanking God every morning for the miracle of life. It's kissing your children, cuddling your parents, having poetic moments with your friends, even when they hurt us. "Being happy is letting the creature that lives in each of us live, free, joyful and simple. You have the maturity to be able to say: "I've made mistakes." It's having the courage to say I'm sorry. It's having the sense to say, "I need you." Is having the ability to say, "I love you." May your life become a garden of opportunities for happiness... that in spring he may be a lover of joy and in winter a lover of wisdom. "And when you make a mistake, start over. Because only then will you be in love with life. You'll discover that being happy isn't having a perfect life. But use tears to irrigate tolerance. Use your defeats to train your patience. "Use your mistakes with the serenity of the sculptor. Use pain to tune into pleasure. Use obstacles to open the windows of intelligence. Never give up ... Above all never give up on the people that love you. Never give up on being happy, because life is an incredible spectacle." Thank you, Pope Francis for these words. Please God help me to focus on the lovely sky, not just the storm & let my pain turn into pleasure. If you are suffering my friend you are NOT alone!!!
