    What exactly is Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD? Contrary to what most people have been led to believe, Autism is not something that only young boys get. In fact, it isn't something that you can “get”, it's a brain neurotype that you are born with, it can happen to anyone of any gender, and you don't grow out of it as you get older. I'm a nearly 50-year old woman, and I was recently diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In this podcast episode, I'll define what Autism Spectrum Disorder is, give the most common Autistic traits, and give you some resources and next steps you can take if you suspect that you have Autism and would like to get diagnosed.
