In this episode, I'm having a conversation with Carla from Ancestral River about Ancestral Healing through Biofield Tuning - a type of sound healing. Carla is a sound healer and uses the biofield tuning methods that were developed by inventor and author Eileen Day McKusick who wrote the books "Tuning the Human Biofield: Healing with Vibrational Sound Therapy" and “Electric Body, Electric Health”. In this conversation, Carla explains what the human biofield is, how tuning forks can heal the energy field that surrounds and permeates our bodies, and how it's inextricably connected with our conscious and subconscious mind, including all of our memories. Physical, mental and emotional disorders can be perceived as "dissonance" in our energy fields and can also stem from our ancestor's experiences. Gudrun Victoria Gotved - aka The Völva from Ribe / Vølven fra Ribe - became active in the Viking community and reenactment in 1996, and since she is both knowledgeable in Asatru and well-versed in the written sources, and interested in alternative medicine and herbs, it quickly became her "role" to be a völva. She is also an author and has written two books in Danish; "Asatro - Nordisk Spiritualitet" and "Asatro – de gamle guder i moderne tider". She works at Ribe Vikinge Centre as a communicator, in charge of the pagan rituals and works there with the runes as well as privately. She also works with the Galðr (the magical songs) as a traditional völva, and she offers coaching and advice using the runes in person or online. It is fascinating how similar the spiritual beliefs and practices of indigenous or pre-Christian societies all over the world were. How did so many shamanic cultures come to have so similar beliefs - from Latin America to Scandinavia? It is a question hard to answer but it makes it so much more interesting to dive into and learn about the different cultures, and today I talk with Irka Mateo about the The Taíno culture. The Taíno were an indigenous people of the Caribbean. Taíno spirituality centered on the worship of zemís. A zemí is a spirit or ancestor.
