What a FUN conversation today with one of our favorite artists, Andrew Sax from @somesaxyart!! We loved chatting with Andrew (or Saxy as his friends call him) and doing a deep dive on his VIP print from Goosemas 2024! Andrew is a true lover of music and artist, drawing inspiration from the tunes, the vibes and the joy that the music brings him. We learned about Andrew's growth within the gig poster industry, coming up through the Lot scene and creating posters for the bands he loved to go see! We did a deep dive as well into the Goosemas print from 2024, as well as chatted about what inspires Andrew, what keeps him coming back for more. And yes, the monkeys do work their abdominals (not work at Domino's). Check out Andrew's work on Instagram @somesaxyart and his website www.somesaxyart.com and look for Andrew out on tour with his favorite bands this summer!
It's been a HOT minute since we got to have a good old fashioned rambling episode, but A LOT has happened in the last few weeks. There's a ton of prints to discuss, including (but not limited to) D&T prints by artists Josh Noom, Brian Steeley, Daniel Danger, Max Mahn, Joaqun Nava, and Goose prints by artists Tiffany Chin, Schnitzelbearstudios, James Flames, Lewy Jones, Dave Kloc and Max Loffler. One of the best parts of this podcast is meeting the incredible people behind the art and the music that brings us together. Today's episode brings a fun and joyful conversation with Caroline Herbster and Chase Lynch of Rising Tide Art Studio. We had the pleasure of meeting Caroline and Chase at the Chucktown Flowdown aka the Artist Vendor Market/Fair in Charleston, SC this past December. Caroline is the maker behind the live artwork at many of our favorite concerts (like Goose, Billy Strings, Phish ... just to name a few). Her artwork is an extension of the music and the energy at the concerts she attends, and WOW, it's like magic. Our conversation flows through her childhood as an avid music goer (thankful for wonderful parents bringing their kids to shows!), her teaching background and post-pandemic era desire to dive into creating artwork. We loved hearing Caroline and Chase's story about how Rising Tide has impacted the incredible community within music and art, and where they're going in the future (hint hint- it's where the music takes them....). We love Caroline and Chase's heart for their fellow artists and the incredibly supportive community that's been built - and the wonderful official Goose management team that's given fan art a place to grow! If you'd like to learn more about Rising Tide Art Studio, please visit their Instagram @risingtideartstudio or website www.risingtideartstudio.com!

A poster "adjacent" conversation with artist and Project BOWA creator, Michelle Ramos. Michelle is a DMB fan who started creating beautiful DMB inspired bookmarks to hand out at shows back in 2022. Her bookmarks are beautiful and have garnered the attention of our musical community. Our conversation with Michelle circles around how her love for DMB music has created a pathway as an artist, and a hope and joy dealer as well. Her bookmarks from Project BOWA have brought unexpected joy and inspiration to the recipients. Her goal for 2024, to have her bookmarks at every DMB show during the summer tour. Art truly is in the eye of the beholder, and Michelle's inspired and beautiful art is sharing the "best of what's around" within our loving community. You can find Michelle's art at www.michelle-ramos.com and on Facebook and Instagram @projectbowa.

Todays episode is a deep dive into another piece by Daniel Danger (@tinymediaempire on Instagram) from the August 26, 2033 Dave Matthews Band show in Irvine, CA. We learned a lot about the history that inspired this Danger print. Juana Maria - the Lone Woman of San Nicholas Island, was the last surviving member of the Nicolino tribe. This tribe had inhabited the island for what we believe over 10,000 years. In the late 1800s, she was found living alone on the island with her dogs in 1850. She had been left behind after missionaries came and forcibly removed the native people 20 years prior. This incredible history and story of this woman, is now front and center as a part of the DMB poster lore. Mike and Erica share their perspective on this piece- as well as the musical inspiration (very Don't Drink the Water vibes) on this prolific piece by Daniel Danger.
