Hello to you listening in Victoria, Texas!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga.Maybe like me you're familiar with the line, “Everything old is new again.” Some attribute the saying to Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, to Jonathan Swift in the 1700s, or to Churchill, Mark Twain, or even a Chinese proverb.  Genesis aside, what does the saying mean?  In brief, old patterns, music, items, ideas, and so on come around again to inspire new forms. Like this example from Ben Tuna, the Glass Cowboy, a second-generation stained glass artist. His most recent creation involves a vintage Porsche (scorched by the fires in Los Angeles) and windows salvaged from decommissioned churches. To quote from the Glass Cowboy website: “By merging sacred architecture with the burned-out shell of an icon of speed and design, Ben explores the tension between ruin and reverence. These windows, once still in chapels and cathedrals, now move - reframed in steel, placed in motion, and carried forward by a new purpose. This body of work asks: What survives disaster. What beauty do we carry with us. And how can broken things be reborn, not as what they were—but as something entirely new.”Click HERE to learn more  Click HERE to contact Ben Tuna at Glass Vision StudioClick HERE to follow Glass Cowboy on InstagramStory Prompt: What in your life has survived disaster? What beauty still remains? How might you imagine what's broken being reborn as something entirely new?  Write that story and tell it out loud! You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! You will have wonderful company as we continue to walk our lives together. It's a sad day in music... Legendary and beloved drummer, Thommy Price passed away yesterday. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Thommy came over in August of 2022 after moving from New York to San Antonio in 2020 and we had a great, fun conversation about his journey. I had a great time getting to know him and we had a great connection. What a sad loss. Rest in peace, Thommy. Below are my original notes for episode 1191. Legendary drummer, Thommy Price is my guest for episode 1191! There is no doubt that Thommy Price has has been the drummer on some of your favorite songs including, "The Warrior" by Scandal, "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol, "I Hate Myself For Loving You" by Joan Jett, "Heaven" by The Psychedelic Furs and so many more. In 2020, Thommy moved from NYC to San Antonio for a more mellow life and playing with The Broken Things, Patricia Vonne and Danny B. Harvey and is available for remote recording sessions. If you would like to get Thommy to play drums on your track or want to find out more about this amazing musician go to thommyprice.com. We have an incredible conversation about growing up in Brooklyn and Staten Island, the 70's scene in NYC, recording "The Warrior" and "Rebel Yell" at the same time, his decades with Joan Jett, recording with his hero Roger Daltrey, beating cancer, moving to Texas and much more. I had an amazing time getting to know Thommy. I'm sure you will too. Let's get down!

Tara Erickson & Andrew Gordon return to Westeros as they react to and review Game of Thrones Season 1, Episodes 3 (“Lord Snow”) & 4 (“Cripples, Bastards, and Broken Things”). Based on George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels, HBO's hit fantasy drama takes viewers deep into the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, where power, betrayal, and family honor shape the game of thrones itself. In Episode 3, “Lord Snow,” Ned Stark (Sean Bean – The Lord of the Rings, Troy) arrives in King's Landing to serve as Hand of the King, meeting the cunning Small Council including Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish (Aidan Gillen – The Wire), Lord Varys (Conleth Hill – Suits), and Renly Baratheon (Gethin Anthony). Jon Snow (Kit Harington – Pompeii, Eternals) struggles to find his place at the Wall, but with Tyrion Lannister's (Peter Dinklage – X-Men: Days of Future Past, Cyrano) guidance, begins to show compassion toward fellow recruits like Samwell Tarly (John Bradley). Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke – Terminator Genisys, Me Before You) asserts her strength in Essos as tensions rise with her brother Viserys (Harry Lloyd). Episode 4, “Cripples, Bastards, and Broken Things,” expands the world further as Tyrion bonds with Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) after his fall, and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) shows his conflicted loyalty to House Stark. At the Eyrie, we learn more of the Lannisters' political machinations, while Daenerys takes her first true steps toward independence as a Khaleesi. The famous “broken things” speech between Tyrion and Bran highlights one of the show's recurring themes: outsiders finding strength in their differences. From Ned Stark's honorable path in a city of liars, to Daenerys' growing confidence and Jon Snow's evolution on the Wall, these episodes set the stage for many of the epic arcs that would define the entire series. Join Erik and Tage this week as they are joined by Ryan and Scott as they discuss the things they think Universal or Disney are doing the best, the perfect Disney meal they would make from drinks, appetizers, sides, main dishes, and desserts found through the parks, how they would retheme a land without making major changes to attractions, and their favorite little broken things in the parks. Support the podcast by going to https://www.thehubcrawl.com/support. Question 1: Having recently visited Universal Studios new theme park Epic Universe - I want to know what to you think that Universal is doing better than Disney and what is Disney doing better than Universal? Question 2: You get to make the “perfect Disney meal”. It can feature items from any resort or resort hotel regardless of the impracticality of obtaining different parts from locations around the world. Please choose: A cocktail (mocktail) or specialty drink, Appetizer, Main, 1-2 sides, Dessert, and a snack for the road Question 3: If you could redo the theming for any land in a Disney park without making any major changes to attractions, what land would you choose and what would you make the new theme? Think about how the existing attractions (or food or merch locations) could be slightly modified to fit into your new theme. Question 4: What's your favorite little broken thing in the parks — a ride effect that never quite works, a goofy animatronic, or a design flaw you secretly love? Bonus Question: If you were in charge of a Disney resort or cruise line, would you be more of a Walt or a Roy as a leader? Who would you choose to be your Walt/Roy?

You know that little broken thing you've just gotten used to?The drawer that sticks. The calendar that freezes. The trash can that doesn't slide right. You work around it. No big deal… until you realize the same thing is happening inside of you.In this short, reflective episode, I share a story that changed the way I look at unresolved stuff—the kind we quietly carry, cope with, and compensate for. Inspired by a powerful metaphor about a forgotten wedge, we explore how even the small things we don't fix can quietly shape our lives. This episode is a soft nudge to pay attention to the things you've grown around. The best part is learning that seeing something you didn't see before is the ticket to finding more freedom! And next week? We're going deeper. Into what happens when your cup is already full—when stress, emotion, and unprocessed weight silently build until you snap… or shut down.I'll share how to empty the cup, how to renew your nervous system, and how the lobster and the snake might just be your best teachers. But for today—let's notice the little things. The ones that are costing you more than you think.Connect with Mesha Find Mesha on Instagram Check out Mesha's website Click here for a free mini meditation course with Mesha Click here for The Heart Sync Course with Mesha (where you learn heart coherence) Click here for a free heart meditation with Mesha Click here to learn about the power of your heart And you can always email Mesha at hello@myfriendmesha.com

Then, when she became a mom, it added a whole new layer to the mix, especially when it came to setting boundaries—something so many of us in this industry struggle with.Cassie's now on the brink of opening her second location, and she's excited to bring the diversity of clientele and styles that have always been a hallmark of her work to this new space. But it's not without its challenges. We discussed the struggles of building a team and the importance of transparency and clear expectations when hiring—something that can make or break a business. What really struck me was how passionate Cassie is about her apprentices. She genuinely loves mentoring them, helping them grow, and watching them find their footing in the industry. If last week we had a whole new podcast, this week we have gone through a transformation and turned The Silent Sisters' into a D&D podcast! Just kidding! Though it almost did. Absent LittleWolfBird - who took a mental health day - Blue_Lemons and returning guest DM Steven Stark of Here Be Dragons! dive into House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 4 "The Red Dragon and the Gold" to discuss Dungeons & Dragons, power dynamics, and effective rulers; determining that good rulers must be decisive and be open to questioning. We've come to the conclusion - yet again - that Alicent (and Viserys!) are (were) shit parents and that Rhaenys is a boss ass bitch who should have been the Queen. Daemon be tripping, the writers make us feel for Aegon when we don't necessarily want to, Ser Willem Blackwood is awesome, Rhaenyra probably should have told someone where she was going last episode - just like Cole should have told someone about his ambush plan this episode (though we understand the need for secrecy at times), Alys Rivers ('nuff said), and we really want to know what Lord Larys Strong's motivations are because Power For Power's Sake in a character is, however realistic in our world, not very exciting in literature.
