We don’t much keep track of notable dates, so it was surprising when mid-recording we realized it would soon would have been six years since we published our first episode. We guess you all know we’ve been doing a monthly show for Radio Quântica. Well, our initial plan was to continue with our 45 minute episodes. We thought it would be no big deal. Plenty of music out there, no talk needed. We’ve done 51 of those. And we absolutely enjoy them. The flow, the mood, it’s a completely different beast. Well, the fact is when all is said and done, we just don’t have enough time to keep doing it on a regular basis. So each one is feels more like a "special". This is episode 52. It’s basically a collection of some of the songs we've been putting off, waiting for a good opportunity to play them on the radio show. What our guest for this show accomplishes is nothing short of amazing: a black/death metal DJ set. An actual live extreme metal DJ set fresh and invigorating in a way we haven’t listened before. We invited this visual artist from the Azores, Marcio Matos, known in the Portuguese underground clubbing for being a founder and visual image creator for Príncipe Discos, hands down the most vital and refreshing dance music label in the country and the guy behind the counter at Flur, this influential record shop in Lisbon. He’s also heading his own experimental music label, Noisendo (for which he keeps trying to hire black metal acts) and is a revered DJ playing at the clubs that matter. While coming from electronics and dance music, Márcio Matos is an adept of all things black and death. RUI VIEIRA, that’s right: he’s big game on the Portuguese underground scene thanks to a bunch of projects like Machinergy, Baktheria and Miss Cadaver. So he came. And he talked. About that new fresh album from Miss Cadaver, about his horror short movie inspired on his hometown’s folklore, while sharing with you some of the tunes that shaped his taste and career. It’s been a long time since we produced a so called “regular” 45-minute episode for SATAN MADE ME DO IT. We guess our Rádio Quântica show used up more of our time than we anticipated or cared to acknowledge. It’s a two hour show and there’s only so much good music out there that we wanna share. Also, we have a lot of fun with it, especially with how things are shaping up – new studio, live show, guests – so we guess our needs are pretty much satisfied. Or are they? The thing is, a “talk” show will never be able to yield the kind of feeling we get from a contained 45-minute mix – no talk, just the feeling of the journey.
