Bible teaching by Thomas Abbott on the 21st June 2026. TEACHING NOTES Micah 4:1–5 gives us one of the Bible's great visions of peace: nations streaming to the mountain of the Lord, weapons transformed into farming tools, and every person sitting safely under their own vine and fig tree… But this peace does not come through human will, political idealism or clever diplomacy. It comes because God reigns. After the judgment of Micah 3, where Zion is reduced to rubble, chapter 4 opens in stark contrast with astonishing hope: the judged mountain will one day be exalted above all other mountains. God will teach the nations, judge rightly, settle disputes and remove fear forever. As born-again followers with His in-dwelling spirit, we see this vision centred on Jesus Christ, the Judge who was judged in our place. By his death and resurrection, peace with God has begun, and when he returns, Micah's prophecy will be fully realised!

Evening Bible teaching by Alex Vaca on the 14th June 2026. Exodus 34:29-35; Deuteronomy 34 TEACHING NOTES: Main Theme The greatness of Moses was not his leadership, miracles, or achievements, but his relationship with God. Exodus 34: Moses comes down from Sinai with a shining face. Deuteronomy 34: Moses climbs Mount Nebo and dies in the presence of God. Between these two mountains stands a life devoted to walking with God. Key Verse "No prophet has arisen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face." (Deuteronomy 34:10) Moses stood on two mountains. At Sinai his face shone. At Nebo his body rested. Between those mountains was a lifetime of walking with God. His shining face revealed the secret of his life. His hidden grave revealed the humility of his legacy. The greatest thing that can be said of any believer is not that they were successful, gifted, or influential. But that they walked with God.

Bible teaching by Alex Vaca on the 7th June 2026. When Idolatry Produces Injustice (2:1-5) • The wealthy landowners spent their nights planning how to acquire more wealth and more land. When God's People Become God's Enemies (2:6-9) • The shocking reality is that these were not pagans. • They were Israelites. God's covenant people were exploiting one another. When False Prophets Silence the Truth (2:6-11) • The people did not repent when confronted. • False prophets assured them that judgment would never come. When a Nation Consumes Itself (2:8-10) • The land became polluted. • Not by foreign armies. Not by natural disasters. • But by sin. Greed. Oppression. Violence. False religion. The Reality of Divine Judgment • "Arise and go, for this is no place to rest." The Hope Beyond Judgment (2:12-13) • The chapter does not end in darkness. • The God who scatters is also the God who gathers. • The God who judges is also the God who saves. • Micah sees a Shepherd-King leading His people home.

TEACHING NOTES Micah was an 8th century BC prophet from Moresheth in the ancient Kingdom of Judah, called by God to expose the true spiritual condition of God's people. In chapter 1, he summons all people to listen as the Lord comes near in judgement. Beneath the appearance of religious activity and political success, Micah saw what God saw: idolatry, injustice, and covenant unfaithfulness. He laments deeply for his people and warns them in mercy. Such is the nature of biblical prophecy: inspired by the Spirit, Scripture remains living and active across generations. For us today, Micah teaches us that God opens our eyes to reality as He sees it, and points us to what is our only hope: God's mercy in Jesus Christ alone.

Human beings often become faultfinders toward God when suffering comes, but true wisdom begins when we recognise our limited understanding and humbly trust the Creator. Job's encounter with God shows that the proper response is humility, not accusation. “The mystery of suffering is not meant to push us away from God, but to draw us closer to Him- because in the middle of pain, we often encounter His presence most deeply.” Evening Bible teaching by Alex Vaca on the 8th March 2026.
