Life's confusing. Some things only God knows, but we're still going to struggle to find some of the answers. It's going to be hard, so we might as well drink. Welcome to the Tipsy Theology Podcast. Cheers!
Welcome back to our Season 1 wrap-up! We continue our discussion about Hell in this episode. To be fair, we may have celebrated a little too much... with that said, I think we still had a great discussion! See you all in Season 2!!
Wow! Here we are at the end of Season 1. Its been a great time growing and learning with you all! Looking forward to more in Season 2. In this one, we spend time catching up and thinking back on the season. We begin our discussion about Hell, but stay tuned for part 2!!
Art and faith. Join Dr. Daryl Ward and me (Paul) as we discuss art and faith, how it connects, and our own journeys to further understand our Maker's mark through our love of art. If you enjoy what we're doing, check us out on Instagram: @tipsy_theology How does art affect your faith?
Its time to get tipsy! Today we had a good friend, Jonathan Benz, on to talk about some pretty heavy topics. Sexual shame and healing. We dove into the psychology and the biblical side of it all. It's not an easy topic, so we gave it some extra time. I hope you enjoy this amazing episode with an amazing guy tackling that difficult topics!
Is there an echo in here? Nope, its Paul's brother Thomas (or as our producer puts it, “Hot Thomas)! Is individuality compatible with a meaningful relationship with God? We have some thoughts, so listen in as we explore this question.
Paul has been cooped up a little too long and decided to take it out on all of you. So grab an Old Fashioned and listen in to Paul's tipsy rant about dealing well with others, not leaning on our own understanding, and always looking back to Christ and Christ crucified.
Trey sits down with his good friend and fellow undergraduate alum, Joseph Lee, to continue the dialogue on deconstruction. You don't want to miss Joe's story, experience, and insights so listen in! The one with Noah White. Talking missions, so tune in!
Listen in as the boys get contemplative as they reflect on God and God's character. What happens when we think about who God is? And who will we become when we realize just how good God is? Cheers.
Welcome to Tipsy Theology! Today, we're keeping it Lou. Listen in as our producer's dad stops in to tell his stories and give us some advice about growing up. Check out our IG: @tipsy_theology Consider supporting us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/tipsytheology
Whatever sin actually is, we don't like it. So why do we keep doing things that aren't right for us? And how do we start doing the things that *are* right for us? Listen in as we try to work it out.
Folklore, and not the Taylor Swift kind. You're just gonna have to listen to this one to find out. Trust me on this.
Our friend Bryce is back on for a part two. This one we are looking deeper into the relationship between mental health and physical fitness, while dabbling in other territories dealing with mental health. Cheers. Like the podcast? Trey joins Paul in the studio and things get crazy. Did y'all forget how silly we are in the same room? This should be a good reminder. We're back on Genesis 3 and honing in on ‘the fall' and human depravity. If you're tired of us chatting Genesis 3, blame Adam, Eve, the serpent, or God, but don't blame us! It's Whiskey Wednesday! This is part one of a conversation on Christians and physical health. In this one, our friend Bryce is helping us understand why going to the gym isn't actually satanic and why it might be holy. Cheers!
The boys spill the tea in this one. Paul thinks Trey's a sissy and Trey thinks Paul's a big ol' meany, which basically means we're arguing over pacifism. We're asking questions like, "Is violence ever okay?" & "Can Trey punch Paul and still be a pacifist?" We think you'll like this one, but if not, don't punch Paul cause he'll punch back. Cheers. To deconstruct or not to deconstruct? Trey's talking about it in his first monologue. Deconstruction is becoming more prevalent especially among young people including Trey (But he is totally not biased.) Trey's making the claim that deconstruction is not to be feared, but welcomed and it may be part of what being faithful to Christ looks like today. As Paul would say, “But what is it?” Listen in to find out! Therefore I am by Billie Eilish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUQl6YcMalg
This week on the Tipsy Theology Podcast, we're discussing Christian Media with a long-time friend, Daniel Markovich! Do we take some cheap shots at God's Not Dead? Sure, but who hasn't? Daniel has worked with many Christian artists on films, commercials, and much much more. Listen in as we dig into the world of media and art through our Christian lens. Cheers. Remember to follow our gram: @tipsy_theology Check out Daniel's productions and his team here: https://getthepix.org/ Ludwig van Beethoven - Christ on the Mount of Olives: Praise Him, you angelic choirs Naxos: shorturl.at/ahCQS
Paul's all alone in this one. Don't worry, he understood the assignment. Have you heard of the term 'Christianese'? Paul has, and he's tired of it! So am I, if I'm honest. (Trey here btw). Paul's deep-diving into the nature of language and why this exclusive language of Christianese is an issue. We hope you enjoy this Whiskeyish Wednesday episode. Cheers!
We recorded this one on Paul's birthday so he chose the topic: Genesis 3. Serpents, Satan, and peaches in this one. Tune in as we discuss one of the most intriguing chapters in the Bible and one of the most controversial topics in theology: the fall of man. Cheers! We love connecting with our listeners so follow our instagram! @tipsy_theology
In this episode, you will hear Paul and Trey confess their deepest, darkest sin: being terrible listeners sometimes.
Sober James joins Paul on this week's episode of Tipsy Theology. James is a Christian working in the mental health field and a good friend to Paul and Trey! In this special episode, he and Paul discuss the importance of mental health awareness and how the church can improve its response to the matter of mental health. Grab a drink - coffee's allowed for this one - and enjoy! Reach out and follow us on our new Instagram: @tipsy_theology
Trey's rambling on about religion in this one. What's religion all about? Is there a difference between religion and spirituality? Grab your whiskey and let's explore it together!
I suffer. You suffer. We suffer. Why?* It's summertime on the Tipsy Theology Podcast so we mixed up a refreshing gin spritzer to cool us down as we talk about the book of Job and suffering. *The unanswered question is just a little heads up for what the book of Job is about. ;) Cheers!
Sometimes we're thinky thinky and sometimes we're feely feely. In this episode, we're a little bit of both! Paul tells a story about one time where he practiced a proverb and it didn't work. Or maybe we need to rethink what the proverb is saying. Trey listens to Paul's story, so we think or maybe feel, you should too!
We're going back to the beginning in this one! This is the first installment of our talks on Genesis which we will be trickling in every few episodes, so stay on the lookout for the next one. Cheers! Enjoy Tipsy Theology? Leave a review! We promise we read them. Want to connect with us? Follow us on Twitter and Instagram: paululle94 and hinkle3_trey
Whiskey Wednesdays are starting to look different and Paul had a plan for this one... then French boy Trey hijacked the conversation! We end up discussing the emotional side of this spiritual life and Trey may or may not admit to having been an emotionally manipulative youth pastor. Hope you enjoy this candid conversation!
Trey's drinking his favorite beer in this one and that's all he cares about. He and Paul had some conflict in a recent episode, so we decided to sit down and discuss disagreeing well. How do we continue to love people we disagree with? Join us for this week's episode of Tipsy Theology as we work this out. Use code 'Tipsy' to get 10% off all Iris and Ivy products! What do bananas, alcohol, and this podcast have in common? Some people have convictions against them! Join us for another episode of Whiskey Wednesday as we discuss the nature of convictions. Basically, can we eat bacon? That's what we wanna know, so pour a glass of whiskey and let's figure it out.
We're still drinking Coppertail's Unholy Trippel, which means we're still talking about inerrancy and the inspiration of scripture. Toward the end, this episode gets raw, and truthfully, we had to ask for forgiveness afterward. But, don't let that stop you from joining us because this episode is an honest look at how hard disagreement can be between two people. Cheers? *Content Warning - Slavery*
Should we still go to church? Are you a bad Christian if you don't? Trey and Paul are sharing their opinions. Join us for this week's episode of Whiskey Wednesday. (Disclaimer: This podcast episode was created when Wandavision was still relevant.)
The inspiration of scripture is the topic for this week's installment of Tipsy Theology! Is the Bible inerrant? What kind of word is inerrant? Grab an Unholy Trippel from Coppertail Brewing Co. and listen in as we try to think holy thoughts about God and the Bible. Cheers! *Disclaimer: At one point, Paul makes a point by talking about loins, BUT, in his defense, he is quoting the New Testament. You've been warned.* Supplemental resources: Trey // https://brianzahnd.com/2017/08/christianity-tree-growing-soil-scripture/ Paul // https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9yw54opRk8&t=322s
Do you really need a description with a title like that? Yeah? Fine, OK. It's a special episode on the Tipsy Theology Podcast! It's WINE Wednesday and we're asking the question: Who killed God? *Cue the Nietzsche vibes* Paul and Trey sat down to record this episode on Good Friday to talk about the death of Jesus and what the crucifixion means for us today. We hope you enjoy it!
Trey's gone in this one and we took full advantage of it! Join Paul and our first-ever guest host (and one-shot wonder), Kyndal Morris, as we dive into the supernatural. God, angels, and demons, oh my! A Lakeland favorite, Swan Brewing, is what we're drinking, so grab your 'Drinking Buddy' and join us for another round of Tipsy Theology!
It's Whiskey Wednesday and a lot of you asked, “What did Trey mean by… in Episode 1?” If you haven't listened to that episode - excuse me? But if you have, then you know how that question ends. Well, we heard your concern and confusion and have decided to address it. Trey's explaining what it means to be Christian, ya'll! If you still have problems with it… just talk to Paul.
Grab a Rome City IPA from Brew Hub and join us for another installment of the Tipsy Theology Podcast! We're judging judgmental people in this one. Later, we discuss the judgment of God. If you see us get emotional at the end, no you didn't. We blame the absinthe. Cheers!
It's Whiskey Wednesday on the Tipsy Theology podcast and we're talking about some serious sh*t. Should Christians say bad words? We're gonna drink some whiskey and figure it out.
Welcome to the first episode of the Tipsy Theology Podcast. We're thinking about thinking in this one. Paul dialogues about Plato and Trey geeks out on the logos while drinking Cigar City's notable Jai Alai. Cheers!
