On today's episode of The Therapy Crouch, Abbey and Peter are joined once again by Abbey's best friend Liberty, who is putting the pair through their paces with the ultimate wine tasting!Armed with bottles ranging from brilliant £9 bargains to alternatives for wines that can cost hundreds of pounds, Liberty attempts to teach Abbey and Pete everything they need to know about choosing a good bottle, pairing wine with food and, most importantly, how to look like you know what you're doing when the sommelier comes over. The gang discover why cheese can completely change the taste of champagne, whether expensive wine glasses actually make a difference and the sneaky trick that can make your £9 bottle look considerably more impressive when you have guests round. Liberty also reveals why you shouldn't always go for the biggest name on the wine list and why a great bottle doesn't necessarily need to cost a fortune.Things inevitably become slightly less educational as the tasting continues, with Pete forgetting one of the fundamental rules of wine tasting, Abbey admitting she is officially “battered” and the trio debating everything from wine hangovers and £500 restaurant bottles to whether putting ice in your wine is ever acceptable. There's plenty of food along the way too, as Liberty shares some simple tips for entertaining at home before Abbey and Pete crown their favourite wines of the day – assuming they can still remember what they've tried! If you want to submit an Agony Ab to the podcast - hit the link belowhttps://docs.google.com/forms/d/1rAKDST4HU_8al_aWpOlys3TRJrWvDV-84piVdlOOjU4/edit00:00 Introduction01:15 The Wine Tasting Begins02:34 Abbey's Favourite Drink04:15 The Perfect Wine & Food Pairing06:22 Pete Takes On The Red Wine07:08 How To Look Like A Wine Expert08:35 The £15 Wine Bargain10:00 Simple Food For Entertaining11:10 The £9 Italian Wine13:01 Why Restaurant Wine Costs So Much15:00 How To Make Cheap Wine Look Expensive15:42 The Truth About Wine Hangovers17:35 The £500 Bottle Problem18:00 Liberty's Superstar Red Wine20:38 The Tasting Starts To Take Its Toll21:03 Pete's Wine Tasting Technique21:40 How To Spot An Expensive Bottle24:03 “Christmas In A Glass”25:27 The Perfect Wine Night At Home26:29 Do Expensive Glasses Matter?28:08 “I Am Battered”29:42 Should You Put Ice In Wine?31:19 The Perfect Wine Pairing31:43 Abbey & Pete Pick Their WinnersTo contact us:Email: thetherapycrouch@gmail.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thetherapycrouchpodcast/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thetherapycrouchWebsite: https://thetherapycrouch.com/For more from Peterhttps://twitter.com/petercrouchFor more from Abbeyhttps://www.instagram.com/abbeyclancyOur clips channelhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZntcv96YhN8IvMAKsz4Dbg Hosted on Acast. In this episode, we're starting with a discussion about body language – specifically how people talk with their hips, whether they realize it or not. After that, we'll hear from an expert about how Gen Z is finally hitting the bottle – but with different drinking habits than earlier generations. Then, we're headed to a gender reveal party. But, this one isn't for a human. It's for a capybara. After that, we're going to Kingman, Arizona, to meet the savior of Route 66 at the Historic Route 66 Museum. Featuring audio from Dana & Parks Show out of KMBZ in Kansas City, WWJ Newsradio in Detroit, WWL in New Orleans and Own the Road with Kelli and Bob out of KRLD 1080 in Dallas.

Brandon Robinson opened Tipsy Putt's first location in downtown Sacramento on November 1, 2019. Four months later, the world shut down. He'd already built and sold a multi-state med spa chain. He'd discovered an indoor mini golf bar in Kirkland, Washington on a packed Monday night and written a $150,000 check for a one-page license agreement to bring it to California. Then COVID took the whole thing to zero overnight. This is the story of what he rebuilt — a four-location brand with its ownidentity, roughly 100,000 app downloads, and a fundraising model that turns investors into opening-day customers.Brandon and Mark get into the real numbers: why post-pandemic sites do $3-6M where they used to do $6-10M, why chasing Class A real estate was the expensive lesson, how to structure a raise as an SPV per market instead of selling equity in the parent, and the brutal honest math of angel investing. Then they close on fatherhood, mentorship, and the grandfather who went from 1930s Detroit foster care to one of the top 100 State Farm agents in the country — and why that story is the whole case for supporting veterans in transition.Website: https://tipsyputt.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TipsyPutt/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tipsyputt/YouTube: @tipsyputt ______________________________________________________________If this episode inspires you to be part of the movement, and you believe, like me, that entrepreneurs are the answer to our future, message me so we can join forces to support building truly great companies in our region. -Subscribe to my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCom_... - Mark Haney is a serial entrepreneur that has experience growing companies worth hundreds of millions of dollars. New York's history as a city of immigrants has had a huge impact on music. Six-time Grammy-winning pianist Arturo O'Farrill follows in the footsteps of his father, Chico O'Farrill, a pioneer of the Afro-Cuban jazz that developed in NY in the 1940s. Now, Arturo O'Farrill often collaborates with his own sons, trumpeter Adam O'Farrill and drummer Zack O'Farrill, in both Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra and The O'Farrill Family Band. The latter group comes together to play music from all three generations in our studio. After that, another New York-based musician, clarinetist Michael Winograd and his all-star band, recreates a pivotal moment in the history of klezmer and jazz music, honoring the traditions of an earlier group of musical immigrants, the Jewish people of Eastern Europe. O'Farrill Family Band Set list: 1. Chico O'Farrill: Pura Emocion 2. Arturo O'Farrill: Alisonia 3. Adam O'Farrill: The Man From the Sea Michael Winograd & All-Star Band Set list: 1. Tipsy 2. Welcome to the March Q&A!We begin today's episode with a conversation about the strange, intrusive, and sometimes downright insulting comments women receive in public while pregnant. We also share a listener story about a home birth that took an unexpected turn when a woman's mother, meant to support her during labor, ended up creating some chaos after drinking too much wine.Next, we address feeling unusually irritable toward an older child during pregnancy, what to consider after experiencing shoulder dystocia in two previous births, and whether an intact bag of waters could contribute to tearing during a very fast birth. We also discuss whether it ever makes sense to remain in an uncomfortable labor position in hopes of helping labor progress. As for Quickies, we cover questions about nursing pillows, pregnancy spacing, breastfeeding and fertility, bras for labor, sleep regressions, breast pumps, retained placenta, building a freezer stash, one of Cynthia's favorite homemade salad dressing recipes, and the most famous people we've ever met. Thanks for being here, and enjoy today's episode.PS: Check Patreon for more from Cynthia on salad dressings!**********Send us Fan Mail Needed
