Welcome to the March Q&A!We begin today's episode with a conversation about the strange, intrusive, and sometimes downright insulting comments women receive in public while pregnant. We also share a listener story about a home birth that took an unexpected turn when a woman's mother, meant to support her during labor, ended up creating some chaos after drinking too much wine.Next, we address feeling unusually irritable toward an older child during pregnancy, what to consider after experiencing shoulder dystocia in two previous births, and whether an intact bag of waters could contribute to tearing during a very fast birth. We also discuss whether it ever makes sense to remain in an uncomfortable labor position in hopes of helping labor progress. As for Quickies, we cover questions about nursing pillows, pregnancy spacing, breastfeeding and fertility, bras for labor, sleep regressions, breast pumps, retained placenta, building a freezer stash, one of Cynthia's favorite homemade salad dressing recipes, and the most famous people we've ever met. Thanks for being here, and enjoy today's episode.PS: Check Patreon for more from Cynthia on salad dressings!**********Send us Fan Mail Needed

Welcome back to Fearsome Fiction, and to Night Flight to Murder Town: A Marshall James Thriller. When we last left Marshall, he was stepping into a world he wasn't sure he could step back out of. Now in New York City he's about to find out just how deep the rabbit hole goes. Chapter Thirteen drops Marshall into Trent's world with all its chrome and white leather and carefully curated secrets. The apartment on the Upper East Side tells you everything you need to know about how far Trent has come, and how far he's willing to go to stay there. Chapter Fourteen takes us downtown to the Village in all its complicated glory. The AIDS crisis hangs over everything like bad weather. The neighborhood is changing, the gays are moving north to Chelsea, and the yuppies are moving in behind them. Trent walks him through his little empire , a bar called Tipsy's, a gym called Muscles, and the growing sense that whoever Trent is laundering money for is not someone you want to disappoint. Chapter Fifteen brings us forward in time to Lambertville, New Jersey where Marshall and Boo arrive at Passion House Bed and Breakfast. A man named Kyle Callahan tends flowers on the porch. His handyman Justin helps. His husband Danny waits inside. It appears a new day may be at hand.

In today's episode of Astronomy Daily — S05E61, Thursday 12 March 2026 — Anna and Avery cover six of the biggest stories in space and astronomy from the past 24 hours. Stories in this episode: • 3I/ATLAS, our third confirmed interstellar visitor, has been found to be extraordinarily rich in methanol — a type of alcohol — with ALMA observations revealing methanol-to-hydrogen cyanide ratios far beyond almost any known solar system comet. The findings offer a chemical fingerprint of a distant planetary system, and the comet makes its closest pass to Jupiter on March 16. • Firefly Aerospace's Alpha rocket successfully returned to flight on March 11, completing its seventh mission — 'Stairway to Seven' — after an 11-month stand-down following two mishaps in 2025. The mission also validated key Block II upgrade systems ahead of the next-generation rocket's debut on Flight 8. • NASA held its Artemis II Flight Readiness Review today at Kennedy Space Center, a critical milestone ahead of a potential April launch. The SLS/Orion stack is being prepared for its second rollout after a helium flow issue was repaired in the Vehicle Assembly Building. • A landmark helioseismology study from the University of Birmingham and Yale, drawing on 40 years of data from the Birmingham Solar-Oscillations Network, reveals that the Sun's internal structure shifts measurably between solar cycle minima — with implications for space weather forecasting. • NASA's Van Allen Probe A reentered Earth's atmosphere on March 11, eight years earlier than expected, with the current active solar cycle responsible for accelerating its orbital decay. Most of the 600kg spacecraft burned up over the eastern Pacific. • Astronomers using ESO's Very Large Telescope have discovered a third gas cloud — G2t — orbiting Sagittarius A*, the Milky Way's central supermassive black hole. Its near-identical orbit to the previously known G1 and G2 clouds suggests all three likely originated from the same binary star system. Find full episodes, transcripts and more at astronomydaily.io. My name is Austin Gleason, but most people know me as AG (that's a story for another time). I'm the owner and designer of Tipsy Threads, a brand born from creativity, change, and a leap of faith.I graduated from The University of Alabama in 2020, and like many graduates at the time, my path was anything but traditional. I went from waiting tables in Tuscaloosa to selling clothing in Athens, Georgia from August 2020 to May 2022. Eventually, I moved to Fairhope, Alabama to help open that company's fourth store—where I unexpectedly fell in love with fashion and the creative process behind it.While I loved the industry, I reached a point where I wasn't happy with my life or where I was headed. Everything changed after buying a hat in Turks & Caicos and realizing I could make something better—something more me. That spark turned into Tipsy Threads.I moved back home to my parents' second house on Lake Martin, sewing hats on the couch and selling just a few at a time. What started as a creative outlet quickly turned into a brand, and that passion project has grown into what Tipsy Threads is today.I'm excited to keep sharing this journey and creating pieces that are fun, thoughtful, and made with intention.Support the show

Klezmer music may have its roots in the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe, but it found a home here in NY in the 1920s and 30s, and the klezmer revival that began almost a half century ago was also centered in New York. Clarinetist Michael Winograd has been a major figure on the klezmer music scene for a couple of decades now, both as a composer and as a kind of music historian. His current project is a remake of a 1955 album that flopped at the time and is now considered a classic meeting of klezmer and jazz. That album was called Tanz!, Yiddish for dance, and Michael Winograd leads a stellar lineup of musicians to play some of the tunes, in-studio. 1. Tipsy 2. Silkene Pajamas

Kererū, green-blue pigeons native to New Zealand, like to sun themselves after dining on fruit. But in warm summer months, the bird's sunbathing has a surprising side-effect. A part of their digestive system called the crop stores their latest snack – where it begins to ferment, eventually making the pigeons drunk! The rotund creatures often get so tipsy that they fall out of trees, prompting compassionate people to deliver them to local bird rescues and let them sober up.More info and transcript at BirdNote.org.Want more BirdNote? Ryan & Bec's annual "solo" New Year's show is a DOOZY! Ostensibly presenting a few of their favorite preferred live performances over their studio counterparts, the two hosts go full celebration mode instead, breaking out the booze, and before you know it, Ryan's stretched the parameters of the topic, Bec's forgotten the meaning of the word "live," and they're both having giggle fits over innuendo. For Song of the Week, Bec rings in the new year with a reminder that "There Is So Much World to See" from 1967's "Double Trouble" - and Ryan forgets that Christmas will be over by the time this episode comes out, so we get one more holiday hit tackled, as he discusses the story behind songwriter Michael Jarrett and Elvis's 1971 Christmas cut "I'll Be Home on Christmas Day" If you enjoy TCBCast, please consider supporting us with a donation at Patreon.com/TCBCast.
