Greetings, Programs!  Thirty-two years ago (and a week), the world was treated to a unique experience with the release of TRON, a Disney production that combined live action, traditional animation, backlight techniques, and computer generated graphics on a scale which had never before been seen.  Developed from the imagination of Steven Lisberger upon seeing the potential in backlit graphics and computer animation, TRON embraced and amplified the expanding world of computers before the world at large truly understood them or their potential.   TRON has been embraced by a community of fans who saw it when it was released in 1982, fans who were introduced to it later, and even the generation whose first TRON experience came in the form of TRON: Legacy and TRON: Uprising have recognized the amazing story, themes, and industry-changing processes created out of necessity to tell this story bridging two worlds on either side of the computer screen.     JAMIE joins SHUA and SHAZ this month to talk about some of the behind-the-scenes aspects of this truly innovative feature.        PLUS: You can wear a bit of TRON on your wrist if you act soon by going to touchofmodern.com and checking out some of the glowing timepieces offered there this week.  One favorite is the SEVENwatch with two discs on the face that comes in TRON blue, SARK red, or USER white.   Let us know what you think about the podcast or about anything TRON-related.  Contact us at podcast@TechnoRetroDads.com, tweeting to @TRON_DTG, or leave a voicemail at (209) 878-7323.  Don’t forget to let Disney know how much you like TRON (in all its various presentations) and that you want more!   TRON LIVES

Greetings, Programs!    Not a three-hour tour, so to speak, but the results were the same -- the Renegade and Paige have become stranded on an island and have to team-up to get back to Argon City. In their “isolation”, they have time to consider the hostility between them and the reasons behind it.  We are privileged to discover some tidbits from Paige’s past that show us why she feels a bit “isolated” from just about everyone.  (Who knew she was a musician?  or a Med Program, for that matter?) What do you think?  Are the ISOs the cause for isolating yourself from your past and the things that make you who you are? High Adventure lyricist Spencer and trumpeter Meghan the TechnoRetro MOM join SHAZ and SHUA for a WICKED COOL, TOTALLY TUBULAR look at TRON: Uprising “Isolated” on this episode of TRON: Decoding the Grid.

Greetings, Programs!   This week, we cover TRON: Uprising “Identity”.  The identity of the Renegade as well as the future of the Uprising is endangered when an enterprising program swipes Beck's disc off his back and sells it in the "bad part of town" in Argon City.  Jovial Jay returns to help SHAZ & SHUA decode this episode of TRON: Uprising!

Greetings, Programs! The Renegade is in a race against time to save programs and friends when TESLER drills too deeply into Argon City’s energy supply.  Pitted against the imminent destruction of the city and shutting down the drill without harming his friend ZED who has entered an underground race in the tunnels of the grid, Beck has to balance stealth, timing, and every ability to meet his most difficult challenge to date. Craig Batts and Sheldon Norton join the discussion this week as we get to the heart of “Blackout” in this third episode of TRON: Decoding the Grid.

Greetings, Programs! The Renegade is getting some attention by CLU and General TESLER while some of Beck’s friends are involved in another adventure of their own.  Both story lines converge in a striking conclusion with some parallel lessons to be learned. Join SHAZ and SHUA as they are joined by experienced podcaster Jovial Jay as we cover TRON: Uprising’s first two-part arc on TRON: Decoding the Grid. Why does ZED look at MARA as more than a friend and how does it affect the friendship that they have? Is PAIGE overly obsessed with the Renegade?  If so, why?  Why aren’t General TESLER’s soldiers busy keeping the peace and putting a stop to the criminal element in Argon City if CLU’s purpose is to create the “perfect system”? These are some important questions, and may (or may not) be answered in this installment of TRON: Decoding the Grid!

Join SHAZ and SHUA as they are joined by artist Spencer Brinkerhoff III and filmmaker Sheldon Norton for this first episode of TRON: Decoding the Grid and discuss the pilot episode of TRON: Uprising.
