"Take Five and Breathe" is a dharma talk on the unique timing signature of life. We want life to be in 4/4 time, but life is a jazz musician, and will throw in 5/4 time whenever it gets the urge. Luckily the Buddha taught us to flow with whatever quirky timing life threw at us. This talk invokes everything from Dave Brubeck to Sleep Token, from Tron Legacy to The Little John Beecher Orchestra and more, all in the name of helping us handle the vicissitudes of life a little better. I hope you enjoy this talk in honor of International Jazz Day and Dave Brubeck Day! Also, I included a Spotify Playlist of a few jazz songs that inspired tonights topic.

Ari Asters Square Peg produceert mee.Eerste details over David Fincher's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood spin-offNetflix produceert een vervolg op Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, met Brad Pitt terug als Cliff Booth. Timestamps:00:00:00 Nerd Culture #20400:00:15 Wat hebben we gekeken/gelezen/geluisterd00:00:20 Spawn 00:03:31 Daredevil: Born Again00:09:07 Severance00:10:37 White Lotus00:16:39 The Pitt00:21:18 Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man00:23:46 Murderbot Trailer00:26:06 Will Smith onthult details omtrent Michael B. Bienvenidos, pecadores digitales, a vuestro magazine frikultural dominguero favorito, 7 Pecados Digitales, producido por Teatro Robótico de Misterio. O no podáis... Dale al play, ajusta tus auriculares, y recuerda: "No estás despierto. Solo has cambiado de sueño."

This week Mike speaks with Louise; the second alter from the Doug Vincent System to appear on GCC, to explain how the alters within the system have used the MBTI Personality Test to better understand themselves and their roles. In more detail, Louise starts by speaking about her “awakening” within the system, before answering some questions from you (the lovely GCC audience) about DID, including alters “switching” control over the body. Louise then provides an in-depth explanation about what the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) is, how it was created, what the letters actually mean and how their system utilizes it for the different alters.Mike also took the test and is a Protagonist (ENFJ-A), with the “Diplomat” role and his strategy is “People Mastery” – he explains his results in more detail and he & Louise discuss what they mean. Louise also prepared a quiz for Mike where he guesses which Star Wars and Marvel characters would have what type of MBTI personality – listen to the entire conversation to hear the results! To do the personality test yourself, completely for free, visit www.16personalities.com Louise mentioned the book Gifts Differing: Understanding Personality Type by Isabel Briggs Myers & Peter B. Greetings Programs! 2024's final episode of Disney Discussions is Mike's choice; TRON (1982) & TRON: Legacy (2010)! In more detail, Mike first talks about why he chose this classic movie and it's legacy sequel, then each person talks about their first memories of TRON. After going through the numerous characters, plot points and special effects of the original, the gang talk about the same things in Legacy while comparing them to TRON. Special effects and visuals are a huge part of TRON's appeal, but is it enough to make a satisfying sequel? Spider-Dan has also read some TRON comics and has watched the animated series TRON: Uprising, which he talks about too. Welcome to Cyberpunk Cinema – the Definitive Dive into the Dark Future of Science Fiction. I am your host, Anthony La Pira, and I will be taking you on a cinematic journey through the sprawling cityscapes, the crippling datastorms, and the cybernetic implants that encompass all things Cyberpunk. In this week's episode, I will be breaking-down the great lega-sequel 2010 cyberpunk movie, Tron Legacy – directed by Joseph Kosinski, written by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, starring Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner, and Michael Sheen. The son of a virtual world designer goes looking for his father and ends up inside the digital world that his father designed. He meets his father's corrupted creation and a unique ally who was born inside the digital world.Tron Legacy is one of the best cyberpunk films of this century. It holds a special place in my heart because I showed this film to my 4-year-old son back in 2011 and it became one of the first films that he obsessed over. We watched it dozens of times together and I was shocked by how much more I loved it watching HIM experience it through his eyes. It made the film that much more poignant, especially with the father/son angle in the film. Let's just say, this viewing definitely got me teary-eyed. So, do me a favor – it's time to access your cranial jacks, boot up your Ono-Sendai Cyberspace 7, and slap on your damn mirror-shades. You know what time it is! Greetings, programs! We're digitizing ourselves and entering ENCOM's mainframe to revisit the seminal sci-fi/action film Tron. Although the film pioneered some truly incredible visual effects technology, it wasn't the overwhelming box office success Disney had been hoping for. Still, Tron developed a cult following and became an enormous influence on the next generation of forward-looking artists, musicians, and filmmakers. Topics include: why the original screenwriter feels the finished product is weaker than earlier iterations of the story, how the character of Flynn was reimagined after Jeff Bridges was cast, a few issues with the first act that ripple across the entire movie, some of the surprisingly low-tech techniques that were used to create the innovative effects, our thoughts on Tron: Legacy, and much more!
