This, the final episode of the 2019 campaign, I bring to you an interview with a remarkable young man who is on a mission to ending gun violence. He is 17-year old, RuQuan Brown. RuQuan is from Washington, DC where he is the captain of the football team, where he led them to a state championship in 2017! RuQuan has 25 scholarship offers, from schools like Harvard, Princeton and Yale - he still hasn't committed yet - February 5th - so stay tuned! But, what I was most intrigued and impressed with is his mission and purpose to end gun violence. RuQuan had to face adversity at a very young age, where he lost his best friend and teammate to gun violence and than later losing his step father to the very same thing. He has started an apparel company called Love1 where he donates proceeds to this very cause. Please go and support RuQuan by visitng his ecommerce store, https://love1company.bigcartel.com/. This young man is destined to do big things and it was truly an honor to have got the chance to sit down with him. Enjoy this podcast!

In this volume of GET SOME, I go over what my learnings were from my episode of Trust the Process Show with DJ Tambe. What I learned in this episode is that we need to stop comparing ourselves to everyone else. We need to be proud of who we are, stop creating competitions with others that aren't aware they are even in this competition! DJ showed that when he focused on his art, focused on being healthy, everything started to fall in place. Be TRUE to who YOU are! If you have problems whether it be an addiction, self-confidence, or whatever it may be, seek help and support!

In this episode, I get real with DJ Tambe. For those who don't know DJ, DJ was on Paramount Television's Ink Master and the only contestant to win multiple times and he did it back to back seasons! I wanted to bring DJ on the show because of his story, like myself, DJ has overcome addiction. We often just see and hear about the positive moments in people's lives and how they are successful. But, what we don't get to hear the tough moments, those moments that we often can relate to. Part of trusting the process is knowing when you have to make a change and being brave enough to take action to make a change. Remember this; at the end of the day, we all have problems and we all have inner demons. Stop comparing yourself to others, be you, be true, and surround yourself with like-minded positive people who have your back and will support you!
