The UFC is back this weekend with top ten heavyweights headlining UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs. Rozenstruik. We preview that upcoming card in the first half of this week's episode. Then in the second half of the show we pretty much just kill time talking about what's angering Nate Diaz this week, flat fee fighter pay, open scoring, and what's the worst UFC main event ever. Finally, in our Hammer History segment we look back 500 episodes to early July 2012, and our predictions for Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen 2, Dave being pretty hard on Cung Le and Patrick Cote's abilities, and the worst intro theme to our podcast imaginable. In this episode I will be talking to Patrick Cote. I found Patrick when an episode of the "Status Coup" started playing on my YouTube and I got sucked in to watching. I was really impressed with his knowledge of the topics he was speaking about and how well put together his thoughts were. As I always do I started poking around the internet and trying to find him on social media. I ended up landing in the Twitterverse . * I followed Pat on his Twitter account and sent him a message, and invited him to come on the show and a few ideas about what we could talk about. To my surprise he was open to the the invitation and the topics and I got him booked to appear. * After Pat filled out the guest form is when I found out that he had been on one of my favorite shows that I follow "The Jimmy Dore Show". Also I started poking around some of Pat's links and found an appearance on Ron Placone's show talking about a parody that he co-wrote called "The Yass Kween Chronicles". * Coincidentally I had been trying to book Ron Placone on the show because he is a contributor to "The Jimmy Dore Show" and appears on it quite a bit. Ron is on the schedule for late March. Below is a question and answer I pulled from the guest form to give a little more info on Pat. * * Why do you feel that your story would be beneficial for other people to hear? * If you're interested we could talk about my prior parody account "Peter Douche" being banned from Twitter. It was a parody of "Peter Dauo" a former centrist propagandist, who is now a progressive ally. Long story short. It was a fun but useful parody that mocked him. I was banned from Twitter for "impersonation" although Twitter has clear guidelines for parody accounts that I was over-careful not to violate. * I woke up the next day, not knowing I was banned to find that "#FreePeterDouche" was trending on Twitter. (This story helps explain how I got a bigger platform/voice) The ban led to more media attention and I went on the Jimmy Dore Show to discuss censorship issues. The show with Jimmy Dore was then tweeted out by Julian Assange of WikiLeaks, which grew more attention. * As I mentioned on the show, I was going to use the attention to write a book, to ensure that instead of silencing me, I would gain a bigger voice. I followed up by writing my first parody book, "An Inconvenient Douche." Then, I followed that up with my recent book, "The Yass Kween Chronicles." Both books focus on the problems within the Democratic Party and on the media and propaganda used to prop up the corporate interests of the party. * * You can find Pat here: * Website: https://www.savageandpat.com/ * Twitter: https://twitter.com/PatTheBerner * https://twitter.com/SilERabbit * * Book Suggestion: Manufacturing Consent * Podcast Suggestions: * * Please Help Support My Vision Here: * If you like what I'm doing and creating and have been wondering how you can get involved and help support my vision.
If you are an MMA fan, especially a Canadian one, you best know this guy! Mark Hominick, one of the true originals of the Canadian MMA scene and heritage. A veteran of the UFC, WEC & Affliction, this guy put our country on the map with the likes of GSP, Patrick Cote, Rory MacDonald and Sam Stout! We were really excited to have Mark join us and catch up as it's been a few years since we spoke! We spoke about his days fighting, his days with TKO and the experience he gained moving to the bigger stage. Mark goes over what he feels day to day, still loving the sport as much as he did in Grade 9 when he fell in love with it. We spoke about his travels, the fun times, the eras of fighters over the years, sponsorship in combat sports and how coaching and building other people up around you can only benefit everyone in the gym! A true pioneer that I am lucky enough to call a friend! Honoured! Enjoy and thanks for tuning in!
We talked with Patrick Cote and Joy Marie Mann about their new book, The Yass Kween Chronicles - Coverage Of The First Annual Resistance Forum. It's evident Trump is worried about the election in November; and rather than trying to propose policy solutions to appeal to working Americans, he's choosing to go along with his usual strategy of lying, whining, and sucking himself off. We'll talk about his catastrophe of a town hall on Fox News, his behavior on Twitter as well as his response to COVID-19 (which is somehow getting even worse). Additionally we'll discuss the Kentucky Democratic primary, Jamaal Bowman's interview on CNN, and more. We'll close the show by talking to congressional candidate Chris Armitage as well as authors Patrick Cote and Joy Marie about their satirical book parodying resistance liberals.
GM of Jackson Wink MMA, the Mad Russian Michael Lyubimov was kind enough to talk about what it's like running a world class facility and how he made it to New Mexico from Russia! Jonathan Goulet, one of Canada's original MMA athletes and one who led the way for an entire generation of fighters along side GSP and Patrick Cote out of the scene in Quebec before finishing off with the Tiger King's Saff Saffery! We spoke about what the documentary portrayed, how he dealt with the fame and what it's like now, 7 years after the incident! Super interesting episode, enjoy!

Welcome to the 6th Round Retro Post-Fight Show, featuring UFC 50 ‘The War of ‘04’. This is the show that digs into the archives and gives you a comprehensive review of classic MMA events, that span as far back as UFC 1. Join Eddie Mercado and Vic Rodriguez of Bloody Elbow as they relive UFC 50, complete with results, analysis, and of course a few laughs. On October 22, 2004, UFC 50, a seven-fight card, went down from the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This was approximately six months before the fight that basically changed everything for the UFC at the time, which was Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar — we are talking right before the UFC really took off, the era pre-dating Reebok, USADA, Five-Round Main-Events... before title fights were mandatory Main Events, among several other pivotal things! So, the main event that night showcased none-other-than ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’, Mr. Tito Ortiz, who was just coming off a two-fight losing streak against the likes of Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture; Tito had only lost 4 fights in his total fourteen bouts in the UFC, at that time. He was up against an up-and-comer in Patrick ‘The Predator’ Cote, who came into the octagon for his UFC debut that evening on a five-fight winning streak, undefeated in his career with TKO Major League MMA; who stepped in when Guy Mezger was scratched due to ‘Stroke Symptoms’ at the last minute. Also on the card, the co-main event featured Matt Hughes, who was carrying a ton of wins under his belt, who took on AND defeated the legendary, Georges St. Pierre; via an armbar submission, at just 4:59 into Round 1 of 5. In addition to that quick finish, we saw Rich Franklin battle it out against Jorge Rivera for 14:28 minutes in a three round bout, with ‘Ace’ snagging a slick armbar submission for a finish near the very end against ‘El Conquistador’. Main Card: * MAIN: Tito Ortiz DEF. Patrick Cote by Unanimous Decision after three rounds: Light Heavyweight (non-title match) * Rich Franklin DEF. Jorge Rivera by submission (Armbar) at 4:28 of round 3, 14:28 total: Middleweight * Co-Main: Matt Hughes DEF. Georges St.-Pierre by submission (Armbar) at 4:59 of round 1: Welterweight * Frank Trigg DEF. Renato Verissimo by KO/TKO (Elbows) at 2:11 of round 2: Welterweight * Evan Tanner DEF. Robbie Lawler by submission (Triangle Choke) at 2:22 of round 1: Middleweight Prelims: * Ivan Salaverry DEF. Tony Fryklund by submission (Body Lock) at 1:36 of round 1: Middleweight * Travis Lutter DEF. Marvin Eastman by KO/TKO (Punch) at 0:43 of round 2: Light Heavyweight If you enjoyed our show, "heart" us here on SC, or give us a “like”, share & subscribe over on one of our other BE Presents Podcast Channels: YouTube: www.youtube.com/channel/UCFoX81d3fNHrcUckyQdRzLQ iTunes & Apple TV: itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/blood…&i=1000421882228 Google Play: play.google.com/music/listen?u=0#…m6qmvqn4yqvivru74 iHeartRadio: www.iheart.com/podcast/269-Blood…Presents-30639274 Spotify: open.spotify.com/show/55S2dpKYVqn…kESkWZigLNnEg1ugn Stitcher: www.stitcher.com/podcast/bloody-e…esents?refid=stp TuneIn: https://tunein.com/podcasts/Sports--Recreation-Podcasts/Bloody-Elbow-Presents-p1190843/ OverCast: overcast.fm/itunes984162015/bloody-elbow-presents Player FM: player.fm/series/bloody-elbow-presents ... whichever one happens to be your listening platform of choice. UFC 210 Preview, MMA Fancast digs into the card this weekend from Buffalo, NY. Daniel Cormier looks to extend his title reign with another win over the incredibly powerful and extremely dangerous Anthony “Rumble” Johnson UFC 210 Preview UFC 210 Preview – After withstanding the barrage in the first round of their last clash, Daniel Cormier will look to finish off Rumble so that he can get his rematch against Jon Jones, who is set to return this summer. Chris Weidman will look to return to his winning ways against the streaking Gegard Mousasi, who will look to extend his win streak to 5 for the first time this decade. UFC 210 Preview Weidman will look to make things happen after going undefeated in his first 13 bouts and being 9-0 in the UFC, having lost his last 2 fights. His devastating loss to Yoel Romero is a memory he wants to quickly erase in his native state of New York. Mousasi is headed in the opposite direction, having won his past 4 fights. Cynthia Calvillo fights just one month after her UFC debut and will be looking to keep her perfect record in tact against the UFC debut of Pearl Gonzalez, who hasn’t tasted defeat since her MMA debut and has reeled off 6 straight wins herself. UFC 210 Preview Thiago Alves looks to rebound from his first 2 fight losing streak since 2010 against the 11 year UFC vet Patrick Cote. UFC 210 Preview Cote has been in there with the best of the best, but can he make it all count against Thiago Alves? Cote has a long history with the UFC, including a 2008 title fight against Anderson “The Spider” Silva. Does he have a chance here? Will Brooks looks to avenge his first defeat in years to Alex Oliveira in October against Charles Oliveira, who is making his scheduled lightweight debut after failing to make weight 4 times in the past 5 years at featherweight. UFC 210 Preview Brooks have only 2 loses on his resume and has 2 long winning streaks, a 10 and a 9 fight streak. Is he ready to start a new winning streak or will he experience his first ever 2 fight skid? In the Conor McGregor saga, there is no guarantee that he will be fighting in the UFC again. If he gets the fight with Mayweather, will he have the motivation to come back to fighting MMA? We discuss this and much, much more on MMA Fancast! UFC 210 Preview
Back on the block and we have another big week! Stephen Thompson staked his claim to the welterweight throne, Donald Cerrone whooped Patrick Cote, and Joe Smith, Jr. shocked the world. Looking ahead, Anthony Joshua is fighting Dominic Breazeale, Nick Eubank Jr. is back in the ring, and one of the biggest bouts of the year, Thurman vs. Porter. Please remember to rate and subscribe.
The UFC appeared headed for new ownership late Monday, just as the Co-Main Event Podcast sat to record this week's episode. Naturally, reports that Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta would be loading up their saddlebags with multiple billions of dollars and riding off into the sunset piqued Ben's and Chad's ears. So, in case you're wondering, yeah, they talk about that potential sale a little bit on the CME. There is also plenty of normal business to discuss. First of all, some aging person pretending to be Fedor Emelianenko eked out a victory over Fabio Maldonado at an over-the-top Eurasia Fight Night event on Friday afternoon. The next night at UFC Fight Night 89, Steven “Wonderman” Thompson defeated Rory “Wonder What Now, Man?” MacDonald in the main event and Donald Cerrone took out Patrick Cote in the co-main. All that, plus AYFKM and JSS.
