This track features a Jan 9, 1949 rebroadcast of the radio adaptation of the 1939 American Western film directed by John Ford and starring Claire Trevor and John Wayne in his first hit movie. Generally the film follows a group of 9 strangers riding on a stagecoach through dangerous Apache territory. The film was based on a short story written in 1937 by Ernest Haycox. In 1995 the film was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry of the United States Library of Congress. John Wayne reprises his role of the "Ringo Kid" and co-stars with Claire Trevor also reprising her role as Dallas Ward Bond (of TV's "Wagon Train") co-stars in this radio adaptation but he was not in the film. This radio adaptation 10 yrs after the film was released was popular with listening audiences. By 1949 John Wayne had become a very big movie star. The director of this radio program was John Ford, who also directed the film. This track will live in the "Westerns" Playlist on this Soundcloud.com Podcast site. By the way there was a remake of "Stagecoach" in 1966 with Alex Cord playing the Ringo Kid and Ann-Margaret, Dallas. There was also a 1986 remake... for television...starring Kris Kristofferson as the Ringo Kid and Elizabeth Ashley as Dallas... Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, June Carter Cash, Waylon Jennings... basically the country music supergroup "The Highwayman" made up the cast.

Airwolf is an action military drama television series that ran from January 22, 1984 until August 7, 1987. The program centers on a high-technology military helicopter, code named Airwolf, and its crew as they undertake various exotic missions, many involving espionage, with a Cold War theme. The show was created by Donald P. Bellisario and was produced over four seasons. The first three seasons' main cast consisted of Jan-Michael Vincent, Ernest Borgnine, and Alex Cord, with Jean Bruce Scott added as a regular in Seasons two and three. The show originally aired on CBS and after the original series was cancelled, a fourth season, with an entirely new cast and on a much smaller budget, was filmed in Canada for the USA Network. The show's distinctive musical score, which was originally orchestral, but shifted to more synthesizer-based arrangements early in the second season, was composed and mainly conducted by Sylvester Levay. Udi Harpaz conducted the scores for many later second- and third-season episodes.

What do you do when you find a mutant cat living inside of a regular cat? First, you should hope the mutant cat isn't hiding an even smaller mutant cat inside of it. Next, you probably SHOULDN'T isolate yourselves on a yacht with a sociopathic Wall Street criminal. Fortunately for us, that's exactly what happens in this movie! Five partygoers on spring break find themselves stranded in the middle of the ocean with rich scumbags, Alex Cord and George Kennedy, as a poisonous and morally ambiguous cat wreaks havoc on them while cackling from the shadows. Will the hapless humans survive or will the cat dish out it's own kind of Final Justice™? Put in your false teeth, break out the champagne & corn flakes, and shout out a hearty 'FOOP', because we're chartering the 'Slam Dunk' to climb aboard Greydon Clark's Uninvited!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/moviedumpster)

Are you a cat person? How about a demonic mutant cat person? In Uninvited, wealthy criminals make the calamitous decision to bring a lab cat on board their yacht. The film enjoys a cult status as one of the worst horror films ever filmed. But is it so bad that it's rather enjoyable? Uninvited (1988). Directed by Greydon Clark. Earn Your Spurs with Alyssa Barnes Alyssa Barnes is a Montana cowgirl who has a mission to help you find your "Inner Cowboy". She founded the Earn Your Spurs website to share all things cowboy and Western. Earn Your Spurs has grown so much, Alyssa has branched out to podcasting. The Earn Your Spurs podcast has had many great guests and is growing fast. From movie stars like Alex Cord to magazine writer Lori O'Harver covering the National Finals Rodeo, the Earn Your Spurs podcast is entertaining and informative. I particularly enjoyed the episode with rodeo clown JJ Harrison. Growing up the daughter of a horse trainer, Alyssa was exposed to horses from an early age. And, she has had an opportunity to meet many people in the horse world. Her interview style is light and conversational, and with the long format of the Earn Your Spurs podcast, Alyssa is able to get some great stories out of her guests. Now Alyssa is expanding the Earn Your Spurs podcast to add a new twist. Her latest project is Cowboy Q & A. If you have a question about cowboys, horses, fashion, really anything at all, you can ask your questions and Alyssa will provide you with the perfect answer. Earn Your Spurs: Exploring the Cowboy, Horses and All Things Western
Alex Cord is a horseman, an author, a stage actor and a movie star. He appeared in more than 30 films including several westerns and 300 television shows. Perhaps most notably, he played Archangel on the hit series Airwolf.
Welcome everybody to the first ever Retromash podcast. Now to be honest I never thought that I would be doing a podcast as a part of the Retromash website. I happen to have a stutter which used to be extremely bad, I wasn't able to speak in many situations, and so I really have to slow down my speech at times and and use a special breathing technique in order to speak well. I hate the sound of my own voice, but I think everyone does, and I never thought I would do a podcast. However, I was offered the chance to interview Alex Cord from Airwolf and, I mean, who can refuse that? It really was fantastic to speak to Alex and I could have spoken to him all night. He's a fascinating man and a true gentleman, and I got so engrossed in the other interesting parts of his life that I didn't actually manage to ask him all the retro Airwolf questions that I had, which is a shame as I'd love to ask him a few more questions about Airwolf but we just ran out of time unfortunately. But I do hope that you find the whole interview interesting as I love to find out more about the people behind the characters that we love and not just ask the standard questions that they must get asked all the time. I do also have to apologise for bits of the recording where the Skype dropped out slightly, particularly in the part around 15 mins or so when Alex was talking about having lunch with Elvis. The Skype connection was horrendous for a few moments, but I've decided to leave it in because, I mean, he's talking about having lunch with Elvis so you kind of have to leave it in! But I do apologise for the sound quality there. I'm hoping that off the back of this one that I can interview a few other people too so stay tuned for some future podcast episodes either of people who were active in the 80s or people who are active now and involved in 80s retro somehow. But I'm an amateur podcaster, I do have a stutter and this is early days, so with that all said, I hope you enjoy the show! Massive thanks to Alex for taking the time and being an amazing guest, and also to his UK agent Nick Wale for helping set things up. You can find Alex on Twitter at @CordOfficial and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Alex-Cord-Author/489177407810772. His books 'A Feather in the Rain' and 'Days of the Harbinger' are both available on Amazon. Music – Happy Chiptune by Soniau Voiceovers by Spike Real

Roddenberry Part 4: Genesis II. Throughout the 1970’s, Gene Roddenberry developed numerous pilots which never went to series. The first of these was Genesis II, starring Alex Cord, about a scientist who wakes up from suspended animation to find a post-apocalyptic future. In this week’s episode of Commentary: Trek Stars, Mike and Max take a look at Genesis II as well as its revised pilot, “Planet Earth.” We discuss the show’s similarities to other science fiction of the time period, the portrayal of the main character, the other incarnations of the concept, and the awesomeness of Percy Rodriguez’s voice.
