Worf és Alexander egy vadnyugati szimulációt futtatnak, de amikor Data és a gépház rendszerei összekapcsolódnak, a holofedélzetes kaland életveszélyessé válik. MONSTER PARTY SALUTES A GLORIOUS EIGHT-DECADE CAREER! JAMES GONIS, SHAWN SHERIDAN, LARRY STROTHE, and MATT WEINHOLD, celebrate the works of one of the most talented and prolific character actors of our age. Take a journey with us into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop... THE WORLD OF H.M. WYNANT!!! H.M Wynant is an actor who, although you may not be familiar with his name, you have probably seen hundreds of times. He has an IMDB bursting list of credits and has appeared in almost every radio, stage, television, and film genre. His massive resume features numerous westerns including  BONANZA, WAGON TRAIN, MAVERICK, SHOTGUN SLADE, and THE BIG VALLEY, popular dramas like PERRY MASON, 77 SUNSET STRIP, THE ROCKFORD FILES, QUINCY, DALLAS, and THE WEST WING, the spy shows I SPY, THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E., MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, and GET SMART, and even the somewhat controversial WWII comedy, HOGAN'S HEROES. Yes, he almost sent Colonel Klink to the Russian Front!   Wynant has also worked with a veritable "who's who" of Hollywood legends including Charles  Bronson, John Carradine, Clint Eastwood, Errol Flynn, Samuel Fuller, Clark Gable Katharine Hepburn, Burt Lancaster, Bruce Lee, Sal Mineo, Laurence Olivier, Elvis Presley, Phil Silvers, Rod Steiger, and a whole "Walk of Fame" more! So you better believe he has some stories to share!    But this is MONSTER PARTY, and what guest would be worth his salt with a slew of genre credits?    Wynant drove Ricardo Montalban to suicide in CONQUEST OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, managed to keep a plane in the air while battling supernatural forces in THE HORROR AT 37,000 FEET, helped Mr. Freeze (Eli Wallach) take on The Caped Crusader in the 60's BATMAN TV series, and infamously freed The Devil to wreak havoc in the world in the classic episode of THE TWILIGHT ZONE, THE HOWLING MAN.   Providing us entry into THE WORLD OF H.M. WYNANT is a past guest with an amazing resume of his own. He's an acclaimed author, playwright, graphic novelist, screenwriter, and film director, who happens to have written the definitive Wynant biography, H.M. WYNANT: YOU MUST BELIEVE! Please welcome back... STEVEN PEROS! (THE CAT'S MEOW, FOOTPRINTS (with H.M. Wynant), THE UNDYING, STOKER & WELLS: ORDER OF THE GOLDEN DAWN, GIANT BUG CINEMA, GIANT BEAST CINEMA)   SO GRAB HOLD OF YOUR "STAFF OF TRUTH" AND GET TO LISTENING!

Maybe the production values aren't the best, and maybe the story is grittier than most, but these little gems have provided hours of viewing pleasure to so many. These films also had great leading men in them. Studly, sturdy, reliable actors who might not be GARY COOPER or CARY GRANT or CLARK GABLE, but were handsome and talented and knew how to beat up the bad guys and win over the lovely leading lady. As an homage to the leading men of the B's, this week, we'll take a look at the lives an careers of five of our favorites. 210 - Abbott and Costello Discussion with expert Ron Palumbo, plus special guest Beverly Washburn This is an interview episode, where Steven is joined by Ron Palumbo to discuss Abbott and Costello!  We are also extremely lucky to have a guest appearance by Beverly Washburn at the end of this episode to share her memories of working with Lou Costello on Wagon Train. Ron Palumbo is the foremost authority on the careers of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, and a valued consultant to the Abbott and Costello estates. With the encouragement and approval of the families, Ron founded the Official Abbott and Costello Fan Club in 1986 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Bud and Lou teaming up in burlesque. The fan club is still active and publishes an online magazine.Palumbo co-authored (with Bob Furmanek) “Abbott and Costello in Hollywood,” the definitive guide to every one of the team's 36 films. Leonard Maltin said that it had “more details on the making of their films than any book I've ever seen.”He is also the author of “Buck Privates: The Original Screenplay” and “Hold That Ghost: The Original Screenplay,” which meticulously document the making of two of Abbott and Costello's best-loved films and include the shooting scripts. He has a third book in this series on “One Night in the Tropics,” the team's film debut, coming out early in 2024.The Library of Congress has called on Ron to write essays on the boys' signature routine, “Who's On First?” and their most popular film, “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.”He has also written the liner notes for the definitive boxed sets of the team's films and television series and provided acclaimed commentary tracks for their films and episodes of their classic TV series.Ron has appeared in “A&E Biography Meets Abbott and Costello” the “Today” show, the documentary “Abbott and Costello Meet the Monsters,” as well as countless radio shows and podcasts. He is an advertising creative director who has won every industry award...but regrets that he has never had the opportunity to use clips of Bud and Lou in a commercial. We hope that you enjoyed that episode!  We would like to thank Mr. Palumbo and Beverly Washburn again for joining us!  We again recommend both seasons of the Abbott and Costello TV show and their Jack and the Beanstalk movie!  We also suggest getting Ron's books too! Episode 61 : A Special Tribute to Composer Gerald Fried As time goes by, we lose some of the amazingly talented people who worked with Stanley during his film career, and we recently lost composer/conductor, Gerald Fried, February 17th 2023 to be precise, at the grand old age of 95. We spoke to Gerald in late 2018 when he was just 90 years young. He was one of the earliest collaborators of Stanley Kubrick, dating back to the very early 1950s. Gerald Fried, a native New Yorker, had scored almost 300 films and television shows in a career spanning over 70 years. His movie scores include such varied titles as Machine Gun Kelly for Roger Corman, Jack Nicholson's first feature film The Cry Baby Killer, The Killing of Sister George, Too Late The Hero & The Grisson Gang, all three for director Robert Aldrich. His TV credits include some of the most popular shows being produced at the time including M Squad, Wagon Train, Gunsmoke, Gilligan's Island, The Man From Uncle, Mission Impossible, Lost In Space, Police Woman and Star Trek! He was nominated for an Oscar for Best Music with an Original Dramatic Score for the feature-length documentary Birds Do It, Bees Do it at the 1976 Academy Awards, up against several other notable composers with memorable scores. The Wind and the Lion from Jerry Goldsmith, Jack Nitzsche's One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Bite The Bullet by Alex North, and the winner that year was……… John Williams for probably the most famous movie score of all time… JAWS. So Gerald was in great company that night. Gerald also won an Emmy for his work with Quincy Jones on the ground-breaking mini-series Roots from 1977. Having composed the scores for five of Stanley Kubrick's earliest films, Gerald is one of Kubrick's most frequent collaborators. Fried and Kubrick first worked together as a composer & director partnership, both at the age of just 23, on the short film Day of the Fight back in 1951, followed by four feature films, Fear & Desire, Killer's Kiss, The Killing and Paths of Glory. We released about 30 minutes of this interview back in January 2020, but now we present to you the entire three-hour interview in honour and respect of the late great, Mr. Gerald Fried. Synopsis On this day in 1904, in Cologne, Germany, Gustav Mahler conducted the first performance of his Fifth Symphony. It was not a success. Applause was light, with loud hissing from some in the audience. Even Mahler's wife, Alma, complained so much about the orchestration that Mahler kept tinkering with the score until the last year of his life. Despite this inauspicious beginning, Mahler's Fifth has become a popular showpiece for virtuoso orchestras and its slow movement, marked Adagietto -- supposedly Mahler's musical love to Alma -- has become one of Mahler's best-loved pieces. The American composer Jerome Moross also had a symphony premiered on today's date. The year was 1943, Moross was 30 years old, and Sir Thomas Beecham conducted its premiere performance with the Seattle Symphony. Unlike Mahler, Moross wrote only ONE symphony, and the American hobo tune inspired the slow movement of his “The Midnight Special.” Jerome Moross is best known his work in Hollywood. His 1958 score for “The Big Country” was nominated for an Academy Award. Moross also wrote the music for “Wagon Train,” a popular TV Western. As Moross once said: “a composer must reflect his landscape and mine is the landscape of America. I don't do it consciously, it is simply the only way I can write.” Music Played in Today's Program Gustav Mahler (1860-1911) Symphony No. 5 Chicago Symphony; Claudio Abbado, cond. Celebrity Interviews with Joey Mitchell

Evans' first guest-starring role was on a 1960 episode of Bachelor Father. The series starred John Forsythe, with whom she would costar 20 years later on Dynasty.[5] After several guest roles in The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet between 1960 and 1962, and guest appearances on television series such as The Lieutenant and Wagon Train, Evans gained her first regular role in 1965 in The Big Valley. Playing Audra Barkley, daughter of Victoria Barkley (played by Barbara Stanwyck. On December 31, 1967, John Derek, Linda's husband at the time, recruited her to operate one of his cameras after he had been commissioned by daredevil Evel Knievel to film his motorcycle jump of the fountains at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Evans captured the iconic images of Knievel's devastating crash as the jump failed.Evans was next cast as Krystle Carrington in Aaron Spelling's opulent new primetime soap opera, Dynasty, which premiered in January 1981.Intended as ABC's answer to the hit CBS series Dallas.  Dynasty featured Evans as the former secretary and new wife of millionaire oil tycoon Blake Carrington, portrayed by her former costar John Forsythe.  Although initially sluggish in the ratings, audience figures improved after the show was revamped and British actress Joan Collins was brought in to play opposite Evans and Forsythe as Blake's scheming ex-wife, Alexis Carrington.  By the 1984–85 season, Dynasty was the number one show on American television, outranking Dallas.Evans won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Drama Series for her Dynasty role in 1981, and was subsequently nominated every year from 1982 to 1985.  She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1983.[16] Evans won a People's Choice Award for Favorite Female Performer in a New TV Program in 1982,[17] and for Favorite Female TV Performer in 1983, 1984,  1985, and 1986. She won a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in 1984 and 1985.Here's my interview on KRAK with the lovely Linda Evans.

Generally the film follows a group of 9 strangers riding on a stagecoach through dangerous Apache territory. The film was based on a short story written in 1937 by Ernest Haycox. In 1995 the film was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry of the United States Library of Congress. John Wayne reprises his role of the "Ringo Kid" and co-stars with Claire Trevor also reprising her role as Dallas Ward Bond (of TV's "Wagon Train") co-stars in this radio adaptation but he was not in the film. This radio adaptation 10 yrs after the film was released was popular with listening audiences. By 1949 John Wayne had become a very big movie star. The director of this radio program was John Ford, who also directed the film. This track will live in the "Westerns" Playlist on this Soundcloud.com Podcast site. By the way there was a remake of "Stagecoach" in 1966 with Alex Cord playing the Ringo Kid and Ann-Margaret, Dallas. There was also a 1986 remake... for television...starring Kris Kristofferson as the Ringo Kid and Elizabeth Ashley as Dallas... Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, June Carter Cash, Waylon Jennings... basically the country music supergroup "The Highwayman" made up the cast.
