What's up, dudes? There's nothing like a Christmas jazz house song to kick off a party. I've got Steve Beech of Uplifting House Sessions with me to dive into the opening track of Winter Warnerland! Yes, we're talking Jeff Lorber “God Rest the House!”Jeff Lorber is an American keyboardist and composer specializing in jazz and fusion. After attending the Berklee College of Music, he played with Michael Brecker and John Scofield. Eventually he started Jeff Lorber Fusion and released his first album in 1977. He frequently played on Rhodes, Minimoog, and Prophet 5 keyboards. He subsequently went solo and had several singles on Billboard Dance charts. As the Winter Warnerland liner notes state:“He's the guy who first brought you Karen White with their smash hit, The Facts of Love. Kenny G, his former sax player and right now is one of the hottest session cats out there. You can hear his magic touch on current hits from U2, Pebbles, New Edition, Giant Steps, New Shoes, The California Raisins, Sheena Easton and Jeffrey Osborne. Those are just the ones he's played on this month. And you know he's saving up the good stuff for his next WB LP due sometime in 89. Even though he's a busy guy, he managed to crank out a hot house mix version of God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen for us. Turn it up!”Driving bass line? Check. Syncopated version of the melody? Got it. Minor pentatonics, blues scale embellishments, and occasional chromatic triplets? Definitely! So grab your Yamaha GS-1, and jam out to this episode on Jeff Lorber “God Rest the House!”Uplifting House SessionsYouTube: @UpliftinghouseSessionsIG: @upliftinghousesessionsGive us a buzz! What's up, dudes? Joe Martinez from Now Watch This and Sean Sotka from the Christmas Podcasts Podcast are with me to talk Airwolf “Half-Pint!” Yes, it's all about Hawke, Santini, and Archangel, but most importantly The Lady!Archangel tells Stringfellow Hawke they have credible intel on Saint John's son Le Van. String checks it out, and meets the boy's foster father McBride. McBride actually knew Saint John in ‘Nam, working on covert special ops assignments together. He confirms Saint John's death. As String and Le Van bond, McBride and an enlisted drug dealer plot to smuggle drugs into the country via Saint John's casket. Of course, Archangel suspects tomfoolery, but Hawke is glad to finally have answers. Eventually, String and Santini investigate the casket and find drugs inside. Hawke buries it to lure the villains out, and uses Airwolf to capture them.Drug smuggling plot? Yep. Airwolf shenanigans? A few. Child gambling and martial arts? Definitely! Along the way we'll be speculating on why so many lorry drivers listen to Nigel Planer And Peter Richardson Live At The Comic Strip on a loop, playing Make Your Own East India Tea Company and a cardboard remake of Grand Theft Auto, debating the tourist-attracting merits of a giant fibreglass smuggler, questioning what Margaret Thatcher was doing hogging a double seat at the back of the bus, celebrating a good Christmas in the Mavers household and generally getting exasperated at contestants who go on Pointless without any apparent understanding of how the gameplay works. You can find more editions of Looks Unfamiliar at http://timworthington.org/. You can also find Ricardo on Looks Unfamiliar talking about Pull The Other One, the Pink Panther Bar, the Panther 6, Hot Wheels Crack-Ups, Explorer, Inside The Magic Rectangle by Victor Lewis-Smith, I Live In A Giant Mushroom by Eric The Gardener, The Car, The Sooty Show episode Fun Being Small and ‘Thunderclap Pop' here.If you enjoy Looks Unfamiliar, you can help to support the show by buying us a coffee here. Today on Too Opinionated, we sit down with actress/artist Angela Cartwright! Born in England, Angela is the younger sister of actress Veronica Cartwright. As a child she was cast as the cute little stepdaughter, Linda Williams, on The Danny Thomas Show. She was on the show from 1957 to 1964. After that, she was cast as Brigitta in the popular Julie Andrews movie The Sound of Music. Soon after, she returned to series TV as Penny Robinson, young teenage space traveler, in Lost in Space, which ran from 1965-1968. Even with cheap special effects and a hokey story line, the show is still popular today. In 1970 Angela had a part in Make Room for Granddaddy, a sequel to the original series, but the show was soon canceled. Since that time, she has made a life outside of films. Angela is also known for her work on Airwolf, The Love Boat, My Three Sons and Adam-12. Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)

Things that are cool as hell: Ernest Borgnine crankin' it, Wings Hauser doing a big, fat, Texan accent, Roy Starkey (the Chamber of Commerce's Man of the Year, 1985), The Admiral, and of course an attack helicopter with all sort of buttons that say things like "sidewinder" and "chaff"Well guess what folks? This podcast episode features all of those things and all at once! That's because the BTBs are FINALLY covering the 80s espionage show Airwolf! But while all those things are cool in and of themselves, there's one thing you can add to make everything EVEN BETTER. Have you figured out what it is yet? No it's not a monkey shooting a bazooka (but close guess) it's a SECOND attack helicoper fighting the first attack helicopter! If you need more reasons to listen to this episode then you're a lost cause. So strap in, push the button which causes your helicopter to start the podcast, and get ready to be blown away
In honor of a very nice birthday coming up for Bryan Cranston we honor two guest appearances this week that he did early in his acting career. The first is a 1986 episode of "Airwolf" in a villain of the week turn in which he confronts his ex-girlfriend at a sorority reunion on the Queen Mary! Can the Airwolf crew manage to save the day? In this and the next episode with Mike away, Greg and Chico are joined by an alternate this week in Aaron Sica as he shares his reaction to watching an episode of "Airwolf" for the first time. The old standard returns! It Happened One Year is once again looking at what aired on November 3rd in 1984, checking in over a year since exploring ABC's programming! This time, Sarah & Joe delve into the hard-boiled, sexy, action dramas that were Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer, Airwolf, and Cover Up! Along the way, much discussion is made about Stacy Keach's mustache, how Oscar winner Ernest Borgnine found himself flying that helicopter, the tragedies and controversies of Cover Up, the poor adult audience subjected to early '80s television, and of course, the glorious return to It Happened One Year of show favorite, Bubba Smith.
It's just Adrian and Mike this week, as Scott is off being Airwolf, Adam has the worst flu to have ever flu'd in the history of the world and deserves all your sympathy, and Tom actually left a while ago to concentrate on being handsome (but he's still our pal). In this week's special feature, Adrian talks to FIFA96 cover star and Anglo-Italian Cup winning legend, Andy Legg. Find out what it's like to play for both Swansea and Cardiff (spoiler - fans are mad), recoil in horror at the shirt swap that slipped through Andy's grasp, and discover just how tall Andy is (because Wikipedia has it very wrong).
In this show, Dange gets to talk about one of the most forgotten and cult followed TV shows ever made, The 80s had Knightrider, Airwolf and The A Team, but also 1 show that only aired for one season and was cut throatly axed....the man on the motorbike in Black, Jesse Mach...Street Hawk, find out what Dange remembers and also Gaz's thoughts on it as something he didnt really remember watching....

FULL EP HERE: https://www.patreon.com/slopquest Mike Black is in the studio again and it's a fire episode! O'Neill uses his feet to flush toilets. Mike finds a self cleaning toilet in Chicago. Andy pitches a train car hobo podcast and talks about the death of Airwolf. Then Mike makes Andrew talk about Fat Gambit. The boys come up with a tiny penised Lothario who steals women from well endowed men. Then they initiate Mike into the details of their Killer Kops screenplay and then Ryan and Mike lose it while Andy reads an article on “dad privilege”. They also come up a new Big Rock Candy Mountain style song for shitty dads.

This week, the guys are joined by Mats Sköldberg, head of technology for Volvo Construction Equipment, to chat about their all-new, battery-free EW240 Electric material handler. Then, they explore whether or not a sinister triumvirate of forces – the Mothman, the Jersey Devil, and a pack of WWII-era German Gremlins – could have been involved in the Francis Scott Key bridge collapse, and what that deadly disaster means for American shipping. All this, and a little bit of Airwolf, makes this a HEP-isode for the ages!
Clayton Parrish regails us with awesome stories about being a Blackhawk Helicopter maintenance TEST PILOT, an avid Toyota nutcase, and building his dream FJ55.
Let's wrap up our review of The Krofft Supershow, a super-silly Saturday morning TV show from mad geniuses Sid and Marty Krofft. The second season brought us two weird new segments: Magic Mongo (in which a goofy genie crashes a bikini beach party) and Bigfoot and Wildboy (in which a Sasquatch and a kid with no pants battle aliens and Peter Brady). The show was still hosted by wacky rock band Kaptain Kool and the Kongs, and we also review their appearances on American Bandstand, Donny and Marie, The Brady Bunch Variety Hour, and a Saturday Morning preview special with the Bay City Rollers. Of course our favorite Kaptain Kool and the Kongs member is Superchick, played by Debra Clinger, and we conclude our look at Debra's career beyond the Krofft world. Debra appeared on classic 70s/80s TV series like Barnaby Jones, The Hardy Boys, The Love Boat, and Hart to Hart. She starred in her own short-lived series The American Girls, alongside a future Three's Company star. She starred in the silly cult classic movie Midnight Madness, alongside a very young Michael J. Fox. And she even worked on a couple of our beloved Rankin/Bass Christmas specials. Also: 70s Hollywood power couple Lee and Farrah! Yogi Bear in space! Teen runaways and women in prison! The secret of the Dorse! A love connection on the set of Airwolf! Superchick meets the Snow Miser! Superchick meets Colonel Sanders! Krofft Supershow comic books! And the upcoming Super Megafest convention in Massachusetts, with some very special Krofft guests. So join us for more fun Krofft talk here on the Flopcast, where anything goes down, where most of what appears isn't true. The Flopcast website! The ESO Network! The Flopcast on Facebook! Originally formed in the thrash metal mecca known as The Bay Area a year before Metallica was even a thing (shortly before relocating to the Tri-County, metropolitan Seattle, Washington realm), METAL CHURCH continues to bless congregations of faithful metal fans with their own unique brand of thrash infused progressive power metal which has relentlessly persisted and triumphed for more than four decades. While we acknowledge “we can't judge entire albums” by just a sample of songs from each one, there's no denying the consistent sonic salvation found throughout the entire METAL CHURCH discography. Find out which riff may have influenced the mighty Slayer and discover the reason why turning on the blacklights in the Bunkerpoon bears a striking resemblance to a planetarium. Get ready for a “homework assignment” (thanks to an elusively familiar riff which earwormed us into a fit of obsessed madness), behold “the ultimate insult” for “those of you who don't know how to count in Roman” (or do math), be sure to NOT get your burger “bunless” (because “the meat lives between the buns”) and JOIN US as we go INSIDE THE METAL with Seattle's saints of thrash infused progressive power metal, METAL CHURCH. We're kicking the new year off with the movie that has explosions, stunts on stunts and as much fun as you would expect from Hall Needham and Burt Reynolds in the late 70's!Friend of mine and fan of the pod, Cole was talking to me one day and was looking for a film recommendation. I asked what kinds of movies he liked. Action comedies with killer stunts ( I mean who doesn't love that?) came up. You can't go much further then the classic “Hooper” with a wonderful love letter to the stunt and film world from the legend himself, Hal Needham, when he and Burt Reynolds were at the height of their powers. So I brought Cole on the show to talk about it. Turns out he's a huge Jan Micheal Vincent fan, so not only was this such a treat to watch, but a blast to research. If you're not doing so already, check out Classic American Movies on Facebook and Instagram. I do appreciation posts, free movie giveaways and more!

IMDB really picked a gem of an AIRWOLF episode for us this week! David Carridine? A sorta/quasi showdown with an evil Airwolf? A fiery redhead last seen doing cow math on Knight Rider? Some nice character work between Dom and String? This episode has it all, along with some terrific helicopter action sequences and pulse pounding synth holding it all together. Pure nostalgic bliss!
