Philippians 4:6–7Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.Recently as unexpected rain pattered on my window, I noticed the birds still sang away.Inspired by the birds, I slid my window open and recorded a song for you. (It's not the first time) The song is called, "Be Anxious for Nothing" from Philippians 4:6-7. If you are familiar with the song, you may notice a little prayer I added at the end.On the way to playing the song for you, I will also read verses and prayers with the birds and rain behind me. May His peace guard your heart and mind. Iris and I met online in 2014 and connected as sisters in Christ right away. Iris is a wife to her high school sweetheart Mike. They have two children and Iris home schools along with their furry friend named Mocha who never leaves her side. As a health coach Iris is passionate about helping women feel great again. When Iris first started coaching there was an unexpected plot twist that changed everything. Welcome iris and thank you for showing up to share your story. Michele: Can you share with us that challenge, you went through the past few years, and how it affected your confidence? Iris: I was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer and that's the diagnosis none of us want to receive. It comes with a lot of uncertainty. I'm not going to lie that definitely affected my confidence, knowing what I was about to go through. As most of you know chemotherapy causes you to lose your hair. Also, along with all the steroids, there was weight gain, and a mastectomy looming in my future along with medically induced menopause. That all affected my confidence, how I looked at myself, and how I thought I was going to see myself in the mirror forever. Michele: I can't imagine what that would be like going through that and just all the uncertainty. The hard part is just wondering about the what if's. August 23, 2020 Don't Be Anxious. Brandon Walker by Bethel Church Kelowna
Title: An Antidote to AnxietyText:Philippians 4:6-9Date: June 27th, 20201. Don’t Be Anxious. (4:6; Mat. 6:25-34)2. Do Pray (trust). (4:6; Eph. 6:18; 1 Tim. 2:1,2,8)3. Do Focus your mind. (4:8; Psa. 19:14; 1 Tim. 4:15,16)4. Do Practice these things. (4:9; 3:17)
Mind retraining is highly essential whenever we need to respond to new realities of life. I have witnessed how some people have bounced beyond the realities of challenges that could have made a shipwreck of their lives, families and ministries through the renewing and retraining of their minds. Most times, the new realities simply means a call to uplift and upgrade our thinking. This upgrade means our minds are retrained to process life, not just the way circumstances has handed it down to us, but the way God made it to be. When we understand this important principle, we will learn to respond to new realities without fear, anxieties and worries. Mind retraining leads to peace that helps us to develop the confidence that can bring out the best in the new realities before us. Because my calling is basically to help leaders fulfill their purpose, God has been calling my attention to the ongoing battle many leaders are facing, the battle of inner peace. One of the things I'm learning about how to deal with this battle, which I have been sharing with other leaders is the necessity of developing a deliberate discipline of choosing where to focus their minds. This is what mind retraining means. Learning to set your mind on the supernatural, the things above the present realities that you can see. The state of our inner lives per time is a definition of where we choose to focus our minds. If we want to live above the present realities, our minds must be redirected and be retrained to perpetually focus on Christ. "Be Anxious for Nothing" is a word that came from a leader who retrained his mind to focus on the realities beyond his physical condition. Paul showed that a leader must concentrate his focus on God. He must quit fellowshiping with negatives but commit only to positives. He must endeavour to speak words that will build his faith capacity rather than echoing the voice of doubt. Developing such discipline can't be achieved by a default. It has to be mastered by learning to retrain the mind constantly through prayer and the word. Prayer Burden Father, help our minds to fully stay on You.

God's Word is clear—believers are not to be given over to anxiety. But it's not simply a cold command to stop worrying or not to worry.Instead, God gives the full year promises how not to Worry or Be Anxious. In Matthew 6:8, Jesus says: Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.In Matthew 6:33, Jesus says: Seek first of all His kingdom and His righteousness, His way of doing and being right, and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. How do you do it?Look away from all that will distract to Jesus, (Hebrews 12:2)You Cast the whole of your care, all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all on Him, Who cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. [Ps. 55:22. 1 Peter 5:7Then the Holy Spirit tells you How it is done by: Rejoicing always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. I Thessalonians 5:16-18 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for All He did his best is better that anything else you can choose. In Jesus name. Amen. Done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as Christ Jesus Lives theough You. Philippians 4:6-7 The result is: You have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers you, you are ready for anything and equal to anything through Christ Who infuses inner strength into You; so you are self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency. Philippians 4:13 For when you are weak in human strength, then are truly strong, able, powerful in Christ's divine strength. 2 Corinthians 12:10 So, you depend on Christ's mighty power that works within you. Colossians 1:29 Further, because your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.God your Father will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 The Lord is your shepherd, you will lack nothing. (Psalms 23:1) He says to you: Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2 God's invitation:Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts anf takes refuge in Him! Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. Psalms 34:8-9 When you know God is in Sovereign Control of Your Life, You Trust Him to Do His Best for You. Then the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, (to be His Child, and He be your Father; and you are His rich, glorious inheritance from Christ Who died for you.You defeat the spirit of worry by the Spirit of Christ. For the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus set you free from Worry.Cast your burden on the Lord releasing the weight of it and He will take care of you; He will never allow His righteous ones to be moved, made to slip, fall, or fail. I Pet. 5:7.]”Psalm 55:22 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”Jeremiah 29:11 When you are worried put your confidence and trust in God. He Helps you Trust by His Holy Spirit testifying with your own spirit that Word is True, and He is Faithful. (Romans 8:16). You can rely on Him Who is Faithful. (Psalm 56:3-4)God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on.1 Corinthians 1:9 God is trustworthy and faithful and means what He says, (2 Corinthians 1:18) Know that ALL the promises of God in Christ to you are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through you. (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Be a nicer. It's the bitchin' thing to do! We're talking about remembering names and what rad verbiage cats are throwin' down these days. If it's cool with you, that is. If it's not, whatevs, we're goin' with the flowin' and jammin' with Shear Terror and Heroess Hannah. So pull up your britches, turn that frown upside down and have a little fun with us. In This Episode We're Really Excited About Life Strategies for remembering names... (maybe Michael Scott should not be your role model) IN phrases (e.g. boss, homie, bitchin'...) Face glow techniques (tip: it's not dirt) Remembering Names There are only a few people whose names don't seem to stick for me. It always happens when I second guess myself once, and then I continually lack confidence in knowing I know that person's name. On the whole, I'm not terrible with it. I usually remember too much about the person, not just their name. During the first day of orientation after I transferred colleges, myself and my peers were gathered in a large assembly room where we were getting the low-down on campus. I don't recall much about that assembly, except for when the person leading the assembly had us all stand up and turn to the person next to us. We were to shake hands, tell each other our name, and then stare into one another's eyes while repeating their name. No. Joke. It was pretty dang awkward and I honestly have no idea what they hoped would become of that little exchange, but it scarred me. Just kidding. It made me realize that I never wanted to do that again, probably, which is why I tend to remember people's name. My name (Emilee) is spelled a little differently than the traditional name. I'm cool with that, it's been funny to see who has a problem remembering how to spell it. I've been tracking my receipts from restaurants where they take my name for an order... and far from getting the double e correct, I see emliy, emmily, emilie... It's funny. But because my name is spelled the way it is, I know how meaningful it is when people get my name right... and so I like doing that for others. I think names are important, so I will double check emails or messages before I send them, I will apologize and ask someone to repeat their name if I didn't hear it properly, and then repeat it back to them. Just like remembering anything, really, it's a matter of finding a system that works for you and Five Best Tricks (Forbes) How To Remember Names (Witt) How to Remember and Deal with Peoples' Names (Lifehacker) How to Be Anxious

We can agree on this ONE thing; Life is stressful! There are many folks walking around in a serious state of STRESS! We get stressed so much that when we eventually start to vent all that steam it comes out as ANGER, rather than STRESS. You know what is next don't you? When we are STRESSED and it comes out as ANGER, our loved ones perceive the anger first and then we're on like Donkey Kong because now EVERYONE is MAD and no-one knows WHY! Stress! Anxiety! Anger! Worry! MAD! The Bible says to "Be Anxious for nothing" but what do we do? Nowadays we are Anxious for EVERYTHING!!! This begs the question, Why? Why are we so Stressed? Why are we so Anxious? Why are we so Angry? In this Sunday's message Dr. Shawn will give you the SEVEN Steps to LESS Anxiety, LESS Anger, Less Stress. With LESS of all that, you know what you get? You get MORE joy. You get MORE peace. You get MORE relaxation. Your SOUL will FINALLY be READY for the LIFE that God has for YOU and the JOY God has for the one's you Love because YOU are FINALLY at peace in this tumultuous world!
