PODcakes | Episode 17 | The Crash Debrief On Thursday, May 30, 2024, at approximately 09:23, on Oregon State Highway 78 near Mile Post 26, Papa Cakes and I were involved in a motorcycle crash that was by far the most violent experience of my life totaling both of our bikes. Overwhelmed by the tremendous support and numerous messages, I've found it challenging to keep up with all the responses. So, Critter, Papa Cakes, Shawn, and I gathered to share our perspectives on the accident and the aftermath that followed. We learned a great deal about the subsequent events, and I realized that my condition was more serious than I had initially thought. Critter and Shawn have been remarkable, offering assistance and care throughout the event and in the subsequent weeks. What I anticipated was a brief 30-45 minute PODcakes episode extended into 2 hours and 20 minutes. The details, stories, and facts that emerged were too significant to cut short. I am immensely grateful that we are all here today to discuss this unfortunate event. WARNING: This episode talks about a motorcycle accident in detail. This episode also contains foul language that may be unsuitable for a younger audience. Interview by Kris PetersOne of the lesser known wonders of the travelling Knotfest music extravaganza is the Knotfest Museum. An extension of the music program, the Knotfest Museum is more than a distraction tacked on as an afterthought. Much more.Everything on display is 100% genuine Slipknot, with the band members offering up personal items to be showcased as well as perfectly curated extras from Slipknot Museum Global Manager Caelin Meredith. In collaboration with the band, Meredith oversees the entire production and assembling of the museum, from shipping the contents out to Australia to attending at Knotfest to make each experience as personal as possible. This year sees the Slipknot Museum celebrate next year's 25th anniversary of Slipknot, with added features such as a dedicated album display, playable instruments and much more.Meredith joined HEAVY this morning to explore the many wonders of the Slipknot Museum."Basically, for Knotfest I bring the museum, and it's the band's representation at the festival," she began. "This year we're bringing a 25-year retrospective, so we're starting from Iowa in 1999, and you will basically walk the album cycles from their beginning to now. And we've pulled key pieces that represent each of the albums, so whether it's wardrobe, or whether it's musical instruments… the fans will also have the opportunity to play some of the instruments. So Mick's guitar, Jim's guitar, V-Man's bass and all the settings are on the quad quartex to their specifications, so as you're playing you're gonna hear it how V-Man plays it. We're bringing some rad art from Clown and some secret surprises, so it's for the Slipknot fan, but it's also for the Knotfest fan. It's to celebrate their 25-year anniversary, so it's a really big deal, and I'm excited to bring it back to Australia."In the full interview, Caelin talks more about the Knotfest Museum, what to expect, more of the wonders contained within, some of the rarities, the interactive aspects, Slipknot's 25th anniversary and more.
Love at first sight has ignited countless fairy tales, both modern and classic. But as common as those instantaneous head-over-heels plunges are in day-to-day life, statistically speaking, “happy endings” are a lot less likely. And breakups sure do suck…but that’s why breakup songs go so hard, regardless of your relationship status. This is where we […] The post Caelin: “Will I Ever Love Again” appeared first on KUT & KUTX Studios -- Podcasts.

There were many changes afoot when singer/songwriter Caelin moved to Austin in 2015 from the Bay Area. Struggling to get clients to communicate their issues with copy? Not sure what they mean when they say that copy is “too negative”? Caelin has been there, and they talk to Say about why it’s so crucial to have your copywriters engaged in the entire project process. Finding the exact right words when you can’t quite articulate what you do is Caelin’s speciality. They have a knack for seeing you, your customers, and the intersection where that perfect, precise, and compelling message lives. Caelin’s been writing since they were 10 years old when their cousin told them they had “no imagination”. After spending 8 years in sales, they found copywriting in 2015 and haven’t looked back — because the only thing better than writing a story that moves someone to tears is writing a piece of copy that moves them to buy. When they’re not at work, you can find Caelin reading up on the epigenetics of trauma, yelling at their Tarot deck, and desperately trying to keep their houseplants alive (even the fake ones!). In this episode, Caelin dives into how negative is too negative when writing copy. They chat with Say about how to speak to the emotional challenges and barriers of clients without alienating them – and why active listening is so important to that process. Tune in to learn how to: Understand where your client is at in their user state of awareness Use copy to encourage your audience to make an informed decision for themselves Help clients assess their content more effectively Connect with Caelin at anansicontent.com.

Tonight on the Podcast:Caelin Graber and Mark Abare - founders of The Hearing Room.Listen in! hearingroom.net/the-woodshed-podcast.Caelin is what I would call, a certified creative person. She loves art, creating art, music, writing, poetry, community, and is a champion of the environment. She is an educator, a nurse, musician, songwriter, and a person that is always looking for beauty in its raw form. The Hearing Room is the seed she planted in the community. She took a leap of faith to launch a venue that has a diverse open-ended array of creative possibilities. As for myself, when Caelin was cultivating the idea of opening an art & performance center, I was floored by the vision she had, and how determined she was of how to make it a reality. We worked on the idea over all meals, while we both at our “real” jobs, and even while we were out playing music, talking with folks…whatever. To create a unique space such as ours, requires a dedication and commitment that – unless you've done it, you have no idea.We would be driving to cities and scouting locations, asking people where “hot spots” are, and always have our radar up for leads. The internet gave us some great tools to be able to find available space, street maps so we could virtually scout neighborhoods, and by chance, while driving to a patient's house in Lowell (she was doing community nursing), she found what would become the home of The Hearing Room at 119 Chelmsford Street. The Hearing Room opened about two years ago with the mission of providing a space for creativity in all of its forms. It was founded and financed by local artists and musicians for local artists and musicians. Its conception is rooted in the fundamental principle that creativity is one of the most distinguishing features of humans; that it resides in everyone and there is never enough of it around. We are a grassroots effort and we seek to grow organically in response to the needs of the community.
In this weeks episode, we talk about the 2018 movie Love, Simon. Caelin also spoils the entire plot of the book They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera.
This interview is part of a special series of the Teaching Canada's History podcast where we spoke with the finalists for the 2019 Governor General's History Award for Excellence in Teaching. We would like to thank voicEd Radio for their support in producing this podcast. VoicEd Radio is a 24/7 Internet-based Radio Station dedicated to both broadening and deepening the conversations we have about education. You can find out more about voicEd Radio at voiced.ca. Kayla Dallyn and Genevieve Soler worked with Stoney Nakoda Elders in their community to help students trace their family lineage. After creating family trees, students identified “heroes” among the members of their family. Students sculpted a bust of their “hero” that was then displayed publicly in a pop-up exhibit for National Indigenous Peoples Day. Students in Dwayne Jeffery’s class worked with the six historical thinking concepts over the course of the entire school year. Through multiple activities, students gained the tools necessary to create a final museum exhibit project and presented it to the community. The project “Treaties: Spirit, Intent and Broken Promises”, created by Caelin Webber, included multiple activities involving poetry, theatre, and primary source analysis. For their final project, Caelin Webber’s students created infographics connecting modern issues to historic treaty precedents. A special guest joins a very sick Caelin in the “studio” to discuss which of Rory Gilmore’s boyfriends is the least awful.
Caelin Roodt is a photographer who has recently become a Visual Arts student in her 30s, on top of being a single mom and having a 9-5. Caelin is someone I've respected and admired for a long time, both for her hustle and her views on the world. She's consistently called me out on my bullshit, and for that, I am grateful. She also takes remarkable photos, and for that, I'm even more grateful. In this podcast, we find out how she started her photojournalism career with the Times of London, we get into the struggles of freelance vs the security of a 9-5, and we discuss how to juggle a career, studying, and motherhood. We also get into the politics of life in South Africa a lot, even though I was mostly looking to chat photography in this one, but as you'll learn on this cast, photography IS political to Caelin. It's a deep one. https://almostperfect.co.za/ep-23-caelin-roodt/
In this episode, we cover the true crime movie Bernie. Listen as Caelin attempts to cobble together half remembered Ann Rule novels into a comprehensive knowledge of the law.

This week, Caelin’s husband joins her on the couch to talk about one of the best high school sitcoms of the nineties, Boy Meets World.
Why not start with a little giggle!! Great explanation of the difference between Yoga Therapy and yoga practice. These ladies know their stuff, have a listen, great show!!
Something a little different this week. Caelin and an old friend get together to talk about the first three episodes of Sabrina The Teenage Witch. Pretty much exactly what the title says.
We said we would do it so we did it. In this minisode, Brandon reads Caelin’s old Glee fanfiction out loud for everyone’s horror and amusement. The original post on livejournal had a warning for violence, homophobia, and suicide. So, I guess… Have fun!
