I've been asked many times to do a video about predestination, and what the Bible actually teaches about the subject. Does God predestine some for Heaven, and others for Hell? Today, on Karl and Crew, we kicked off the week with our weekly theme of “Church” with Dr. Tim Sisk, as we talked about the importance of not just going to church but being the church. Christ calls us to be a unified body of believers, and the best way to take part in the body is to attend church and fellowship with the spiritual family. Dr. Tim Sisk is Provost and Senior Vice President at the Moody Bible Institute. He started with Moody in 2004, and during his 20 years at Moody, he served in a variety of leadership roles, including chair of the Intercultural Studies Department and dean of faculty for the undergraduate school. We then turned to the phone lines to ask our listeners, “What was the first thing you needed when you came to Christ?” You can hear the highlights of today's program on the Karl and Crew Showcast. In this episode of the Ordinary Christian Podcast, Craig discusses the significance of baptism in the Christian faith. He addresses common questions from new believers and those transitioning from other denominations, emphasizing that baptism is an act of obedience following a profession of faith. Craig also explains the Baptist perspective on baptism by immersion, its symbolism, and its role as a public declaration of faith. He encourages listeners to pursue baptism as a vital step in their spiritual journey and to seek guidance from Scripture.TakeawaysBaptism is the first step of obedience after becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ. The Greek word for baptism means to immerse in water.Baptism symbolizes the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior.Baptism is an outward declaration of an inner transformation.Baptism does not save; it is an act of obedience after salvation.Baptism should be performed by immersion on a person who has professed faith in Christ.Baptism is a public declaration of one's faith and commitment to Christ.Baptism serves as a visual image of the new life in Christ.Baptism is important because Jesus commands it.New believers are encouraged to pursue baptism as soon as possible.Chapters00:00Introduction to Baptism01:28Understanding Baptism's Significance06:14Baptism: A Public Declaration11:18Reasons for Pursuing Baptism16:40Encouragement for New Believers

As long as you or I are content with the world, in all of its dark ways, and we aren’t BEING or REVEALING something new... If we’re not sharing the light of the world, if we aren’t being the city on a hill? There’s no news to spread, then! If we’re just people with busier Sundays, what do we have to offer for the searching soul?

What happens when a woman deeply entrenched in New Age invites her new community of Christian friends over to her house filled with Hindu statues and oracle cards? In part 2 of my conversation with Kara Seymour, she shares about how her new relationship with Jesus changed everything—but not immediately. Kara talks about the beautiful community and sisterhood she's experienced, but also some responses of judgment. We're kicking off our Judgy series—looking at stories of judgment and mercy from the Bible and how to live like it's true that our God is a merciful Judge. I loved getting to overlay some thoughts from several Bible stories about mercy into my conversation with Kara.Guest: Kara SeymourInstagramFacebookBible Passage: Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman - Luke 7:35-50Get your Free Resource: 20 Page WorkbookRecommended Resources: Check out Shannon's Amazon Storefront HEREResound Media Network: www.ResoundMedia.ccMusic: Cade PopkinKara SeymourKara Seymour is a woman whose life was radically transformed by the power of the gospel. After spending over 20 years deeply immersed in New Age spirituality—both personally and professionally—she encountered Jesus in January 2024 in a way that completely upended her worldview. A healthy church shouldn't feel like a chore to belong to. The Church in Acts chapter 2 was made up of closely knit relationships, of people from all walks of life bound together by the common thread that they had been redeemed by the blood of Christ. Pastor Bill shares with you today that it's so important to feel unity with your brothers and sisters. This world is hard enough on its own, but it's even more difficult if you try and forgo the fellowship and community of the Church.

Some people navigate very carefully through life, pausing frequently to evaluate where they find themselves and if they're in a healthy place. Especially in a new church, it can be difficult to determine if the community is actually healthy, or if it's just putting on a facade to draw in new members. But Pastor Bill gives you a surefire way to identify a healthy church: Are they teaching the word of God? If a church focuses on something other than the Bible, it is not built on a foundation that will last.

It's easy to take a passionate person the wrong way. When you hear a street preacher sharing the Gospel, your first reaction might be one of anger or annoyance. But when someone stops for a moment and listens to the words being said, they may just realize that the passion doesn't come from someone's mental instability, but from a real-life change that has taken place in the speaker's heart! Pastor Bill reminds you that Peter was able to address entire crowds once he was emboldened by the Holy Spirit.

When you hear the word revival, you might think of the spiritual movements from the past, like the Great Awakening. But next in this program, you will discover how God still works that way today. Join Chip and author Jennie Allen as they discuss her passion for uniting the global church to reach the lost and what you can do to make a difference.Main Points Key Takeaways: The vision of Gather25: A 25-hour global event uniting Christians worldwide in prayer, worship, repentance, and sharing stories of God's work. The urgency of the Great Commission: With billions still unreached with the gospel, the Church needs to unite and work together to fulfill Christ's command. The importance of personal spiritual health: Before we can effectively impact the world for Christ, we need to address our own spiritual needs and walk in freedom. The power of confession: Confessing our sins and struggles to God and trusted others breaks the enemy's power and leads to healing and wholeness. Highlights: Jennie's journey from IF:Gathering to the birth of Gather25, inspired by a dream and a desire to mobilize the global Church. The importance of unity and collaboration among Christians despite differing viewpoints on secondary issues. The need for urgency in fulfilling the Great Commission, recognizing that many are perishing without Christ. The role of technology and organizations like illumiNations in reaching the unreached with the gospel. Jennie's emphasis on her own "ordinariness" and the fact that God can use anyone who is willing to say "yes" to Him. A guided exercise in confession and reflection, emphasizing the importance of recognizing our need for God and sharing our struggles with others. Call to Action: Participate in Gather25: Join the global Church on February 28th and March 1st, 2025 for this unifying event. Share the gospel: Take every opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with those around you.
