The rookie season did not go as planned for Trevor Lawrence but now he has a new head coach in Doug Pedersen and the expectations are a positive year two. Jaguars reporter Mia O'Brien joins In The Zone to discuss how the team has looked in first 2 preseason games, how Pedersen has handled Trevor and more.
Come join Steve Van Tassell (@SteveVT33) and Jay Pounds (@jaypoundsnfl) as they talk Dynasty Owner fantasy football. Both of them were at the Fantasy Football Expo in Canton, Ohio this past weekend and met Tim, Chris, Jeff - the 2021 Chase for the Ring Champion, and several other Dynasty Owners. It was a lot of fun. Since it was the first full week of NFL pre-season games, they discussed some of the most important things that happened over the past few days. For Jay, the first thing he brought up was the QB play in the Jaguars-Browns game. However, he talks about how impressed he was with Trevor Lawrence in his first game under new coach Doug Pedersen and not the poor performance by Browns QB Deshaun Watson. The injury to Zach Wilson and the fallout for the rest of the Jets' position players was Steve's top discussion point. It might be time to go get Joe Flacco or Mike White if you have Wilson on your Dynasty Owner roster and need another QB. Jay is very excited about the play of both Kenny Pickett and George Pickens for his Steelers, while Steve is baffled by the Offensive Coordinator rotation by his New England Patriots. Lastly, they talk about some rookie QBs (Malik Willis and Desmond Ridder) and the polarizing training camp and pre-season for Tennessee rookie WR Treylon Burks. Hope everyone enjoys hearing about the Expo this past weekend plus Steve and Jay's thoughts on Week 1 of the pre-season.

Hey there good folks! So, the Browns shocked the world!! Who saw that coming? Well, Joey did actually, last episode he predicted them winning a high scoring game 38-35, but it turned out to be even sweeter than he ever imagined. In this episode, we are recapping all the games from the super wild card weekend. We are reflecting on JuJu Smith-Schuster's comments regarding the Browns and how they backfired, and are also reviewing Chase Claypool's latest immature comments regarding Cleveland's divisional matchup against the Chiefs in Kansas City. We go on to touch on Deshaun Watson demanding a trade, and how Texans legend Andre Johnson is supporting the young buck to stand firm in his demands. We now are starting to believe that this could be a real deal since doubting it last week. Doug Pedersen was fired a few days ago, and we reflect on whether the Eagles coaching job is a desirable position or not, when compared to the other coaching vacancies around the league. Finally, we touch on Taylor Heinicke following his balsy performance against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Is Heinicke worth holding onto going into next season? Anthony Butler, a native of the Bronx in New York City, lost his sight eight years ago. For many people who lose their ability to see in adulthood, the decline is inevitable and gradual. Often a degenerative disease will chip away at someone’s vision to the point that they become legally blind. That’s not what happened to Anthony. One second, Anthony was hanging out with friends. The next second, his sight was gone. But even through a series of struggles—learning to navigate a new world, getting kicked out his home—Anthony found ways to turn his life around. One of those ways: running. It was last spring when Anthony met Kate Dixon on a group run in Central Park with Achilles International. Neither was a great runner, but something clicked when they began running together that made them decide to get serious for their own, important reasons. In this episode, we explore what happens when you lose something so essential. And what, perhaps, you might gain in its place.
