Chris's mom, Yun Cha, and dad met at the grocery shop that she and her sister owned nearby to the US military base. After years of moving base to base in the US and Europe, Yun Cha still in her twenties, moved back to the United States with her family where she was trying to immerse herself into the American culture. After time, trying to hold onto both cultures simultaneously, speaking Korean at home and English outside the home, inevitably proved impossible. Yun Cha selflessly gave up speaking her native tongue to her children to help them assimilate back into their American culture.Chris says "my mom was a great dreamer and she dreamed of such wonderful things. If you do what you want, you'll never work a day in your life." Chris says that was great until he wanted to work in the theatre industry. Suddenly mom was championing for her son to be a doctor or lawyer and not the theatre rat that Chris wanted to be.While living overseas, Chris and his older sister were immersed in the local culture regardless of what country they were living. That was one of many benefits of the American schools on the base. All the children were introduced to the history, arts and entertainment of the surrounding area. They were exposed to so much more than their school books.Eventually Chris's mother did go back to visit her remaining family in Korea. It was then that Yun Cha was able to get a recovered photograph of her mom, something that she longed for for many years. It brought her great comfort to finally see the photo of her mom again.Chris's theatrical work, slightly on pause because of the pandemic: "Odd Lot "Improv Company and "Savannah Shakers" Shakespeare Theatre Company Podcast: "The Most Haunted City on Earth" -the telling of ghosts stories around Savannah. His father started in dairy, made a soft drink, started car washes, and then eventually signage which brought Chris into the business. Eventually Chris went to work for a different signage company that was in major trouble. Looking back, it was a blessing in disguise. He made some key relationships meeting his partner there and they opened up Signage Solutions. All of their business comes as a result of referrals and word-of-mouth which speaks to their high level of quality in excellence.

As a songwriter Trent has written many songs that have been cut by other notable artists including Brad Paisley, Eric Church, Little Big Town, Cody Johnson, Blake Shelton, Maddie and Tae, Merle Haggard, Wade Hayes, Randy Houser, Kevin Fowler, Granger Smith, Roger Creager, and many more. Cody’s Album, “Ain’t Nothin’ to It”, also produced by Willmon reached the #1 spot on the Billboard Country Charts in 2019. Chris was raised in a small town in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Here he developed a love for horses, and everything about the cowboy lifestyle. He was drawn to the old cowboys around town who took him under their wing and taught him about horses. Chris built a love of starting colts and building confidence in young horses. By combining his love for horses and a love for art and photography, Chris started Diehard Cowboy–A company built to share the cowboy lifestyle and his authentic music with others. Chris spends as much time as he can riding horses and starting colts. Chris also works for several ranches to get a reprieve from his regular schedule. You can take a glimpse in this life by following. @Diehardcowboy_ Chris got somewhat of a late start into his music career. Earlier in life the fear of singing in front of other people kept him from getting on stage. Even though Chris never sang in public until he was in college, music was always present. Chris would often write songs while driving, or riding his horses, but singing would only happen around his close friends. Friends soon began to encourage him to sing more and to share his songs. Eventually Chris started writing and recording the songs that he had written but they were only heard by those in his inner circle. A turning point came when Country Musician, Collin Raye, heard a burnt CD of a few of Chris’ songs. Collin asked if Chris would be willing to open an upcoming concert for him. The night of the concert came and Chris faced his fear, took the stage, and sang to a hometown crowd. This was a moment that changed Chris’ life. After encouragement from Collin Raye, Chris set his sights on pursuing his career as a songwriter and performer. It took a lot of work to overcome his fear. Chris spent a full year singing once a week at a local venue with his guitar before he finally felt he could play for a crowd. Eventually Chris was playing for larger audiences in shows across the country. He played during the Houston Rodeo at NRG park, and even packed his guitar to Missouri. In 2017 Chris was selected as a finalist at the Kerrville Songwriting Competition in, Kerrville, Texas. Many past finalists had gone on to become notable performers like, Steve Earl, Tom Russel, Robert Earl Keen, Lyle Lovett, Hal Ketchum, and Zane Williams. Chris has always been a big supporter of the men and women who serve our country and communities. He has written two songs in their honor. “Every Time I Hear the Rain” as well as “He Still Pays the Price.” As a musician Chris sticks to his country roots. He loves playing traditional country music with influences like George Strait, Merle Haggard, and Chris Ledoux. These influences are also reflected in Chris’ writing. Chris writes songs that are authentic and true to his...

In 2002 Michael Finkel was a young journalist with an enviable career. Then, The New York Times discovered that Michael had created a composite character for a story about child labor and the African slave trade. Michael was fired. He said, “I mean if you want to talk about failure I don't think there's any bigger failure in all of journalism.” How did he recover? This is a story about Michael but also Chris Knight, the subject of his latest book, The Stranger in The Woods: The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit. Chris spent 27 years in the woods of Maine. He survived by stealing food, and other essentials, from his neighbors. Eventually Chris was caught and Michael was the only journalist he would speak to. The book is an engaging story about a tragically unique man but also a meditation on nature, learning to be alone, and how modern life is changing us.
A new year, same old podcast? this one feels a little different, a little more organized and on point? We'll see how long it last. they start off tackling the NFL drama surrounding Quarterbacks and their Wide Receivers. The Kardashians got nothing on these fools. This leads to a breakdown of the Roethlisberger weird brainwashed PR-machine. Then do an in-memoriam for two people Chris actually wants to give props to. Plus Chris has a Urban Meyer hot-take which is always good. Eventually Chris & Kris decide to make their playoff picks (33:13). And since they finished right at .500 (as usual), not sure if 2019 will be better or worse for them.
