In today's episode of "Anthology of Horror," viewers are treated to a spine-chilling tale penned by the talented Sam Stoutman. The story unfolds against the backdrop of a seemingly idyllic family holiday dinner, setting the stage for an eerie narrative that takes unexpected twists and turns. As the episode begins, the atmosphere is thick with anticipation as family members gather around the dinner table. The aroma of a meticulously prepared holiday feast wafts through the air, creating an illusion of warmth and togetherness. However, as the characters delve into their seemingly ordinary dinner, it becomes evident that beneath the veneer of normalcy lies a sinister undercurrent.Stoutman masterfully weaves a narrative that explores the fragility of familial bonds, unraveling the facade of happiness and unity that typically accompanies such gatherings. The characters, once thought to be familiar and comforting, take on an unsettling demeanor as the story progresses. The tension builds steadily, creating an atmosphere of unease that keeps listeners on the edge of their seats. The crux of the horror lies in the revelation that the holiday dinner is a mere facade for something far more sinister. Secrets are unearthed, and the true nature of the family dynamic comes to light in a series of shocking twists. Stoutman's narrative prowess keeps the audience guessing until the very end, heightening the impact of the story.Complementing the narrative is the carefully chosen musical accompaniment. The closing song, "Long Line of Losers" by Montgomery Gentry, serves as a haunting and fitting finale to the episode. Its lyrics and melody enhance the overall mood, leaving listeners with a lingering sense of disquiet long after the episode concludes. The interlude music, featuring Vivaldi's "Spring" from "The Four Seasons," adds a layer of sophistication to the episode. The juxtaposition of classical music against the backdrop of a horror narrative creates a unique and unsettling contrast, amplifying the overall sense of dread.Sam Stoutman's contribution to "Anthology of Horror" with this holiday-themed episode is a testament to his ability to craft a compelling and chilling tale. The episode delves into the dark recesses of family dynamics, using the holiday setting as a backdrop for a story that will leave audiences questioning the true nature of the bonds that tie us together.Support the showYe olde march shop https://www.aohpmerch.com/s/shopDemented Darkness https://open.spotify.com/show/2ausD083OiTmVycCKpapQ8Dark Side of the Nerd https://open.spotify.com/show/6cwN3N3iifSVbddNRsXRTuFoxhound43 https://rumble.com/user/Foxhound43

In this week's episode I sit down with the amazing Kelly Archer! Kelly is originally from Vancouver, British Columbia. Her songs have been recorded by Jason Aldean, Dustin Lynch, Eli Young Band, Montgomery Gentry, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Cassadee Pope, and many more. In this podcast you'll hear the story of how she grew up and how she dipped her toe into songwriting at an early age by re-writing another popular song; but how that made her begin to follow that path. She had a very eclectic taste in music and that also helped open her mind to a lot of different ways to write. Her dedication to do this in Nashville is so inspiring. You'll hear about the over 20,000 miles she drove back and forth from Canada to work and save money to come back To nashville and do this. That dedication has definitely paid off and although she was just about to head back home for good, you'll hear the story of how she got talked into staying and shortly after that she had her first #1 with Brett Young's “Sleep Without You.” You'll hear the story about that song along with her song “Somebody Else Will” for Justin Moore and “For Her” for Chris Lane. Hear the lessons she learned along the way and some great advice that she shares. It was a pleasure having her on and I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did recording it! Guitarist and songwriter David Grissom is on the show this week! Anyone who knows anything about the guitar knows Grissom is a monster player, and has been a key element of albums for Joe Ely and John Mellencamp, and then with the band Storyville. But what I wasn't really aware of was his extensive list of session work he did here in Nashville during the early 2000's. For a good 10 years or so, Nashville session work was kind of his main thing. He played on huge records for artists like Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Lee ann Womack, Montgomery Gentry, Billy Ray Cyrus and Brooks and Dunn. But he also maintained his work on the rootsier side of things, writing for, touring with or playing on records for Buddy Guy, John Mayall, Eliza Gilkyson, Chris Isaak, Rita Coolidge and lots more. So all this to say we had alot to talk about. I wanted to dig into that session scene in the early 2000's and see what was going on at that point. We had a great talk about all the aspects of his career, making some of the classic records he was involved in, how he got into music in the first placxe and his current band and regular gigs around Austin, TX. We also get a little nerdy and talk about his signature Paul Reed Smith guitars closer to the end.You can get all the info on David, his recordings, live albums, and weekly gig at: www.davidgrissom.comListen to the accompanying playlist for this episode here, which features the artist's own music, plus many of the songs that were discussed during the show. Please leave a review on Apple Podcasts - it really helps get the show heard by more folks! The helicopter crash that killed musician Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry was primarily caused by improper maintenance. The Flight Safety Detectives share why they find fault with the NTSB assigning the primary cause to the pilot. “It is clear that the basic cause of this accident occurred in the hangar,” says John Goglia. John and Todd review the information in the NTSB report. They applaud the excellent work done by the NTSB lab that showed how improper installation of engine tie rod nuts led to engine failure of the Schweizer 269C. While there are pages of analysis of the pilot and his actions in the NTSB final report, the clear maintenance deficiencies are covered minimally. The mechanic did not follow the manual or specifications. While at the NTSB, John pushed for more investment in exploring human factors in the maintenance hangar. This accident shows a continued lack of commitment to defining corrective actions for maintenance personnel. Dropping off your children for their first year of college often fills parents with a bittersweet combination of pride, excitement, and sadness. This week, Dr. Milt Lowder will experience this rite of passage as his son, Jay Lowder, leaves the nest to start his freshman year at Clemson University. As part of a tradition Milt has done for each of his children, Milt picked "Something to Be Proud Of" by Montgomery Gentry as Jay's song when he was a toddler - one that captures the powerful connection between a father and son. So it's no surprise that the message of this song perfectly captures the theme of this conversation as Milt and Jay look back over the last eighteen years and look forward to the future.
