Today, we see Malachi echo themes in Ezra and Nehemiah. The people need to be very careful where their allegiances lie. They are cautioned to avoid relationships that pull them away from God. That is what happened to the people before the Exile, and it is a danger in this new world. The same is true for us today. We need a variety of relationships. If we, as Christians, do not have any relationships with folks who are not Christian, how will they ever hear the good news? How will they know of Jesus if we do not tell them? We need those relationships. But, we need to stay firmly rooted in the Word and firmly rooted in Christian community. These things, they keep us focused on where God is calling us. Join us for our daily reflections with Andy. In 10 short minutes, he'll dig a little deeper into Scripture and help you better understand God's Word.If you'd like to receive this daily reflection on your phone, text @39110 to 81010 to sign up. John Neely of Cannon County has been involved in agriculture for most of his life. He started showing livestock when he was five, and most recently was named the 2023 National Proficiency Winner in Swine Production. Now the 20 year old Neely is venturing into the livestock business joining his father in continuing Neely Livestock. Thomas Capps A national champion turned young entrepreneur. Hello and welcome to Tennessee Home and Farmer Radio, I'm Thomas Capps. John Neely It's definitely gonna be tough at times, but I have a lot of fun. Thomas Capps John Neely of Cannon County has been around agriculture his whole life. He's shown livestock since he was five and most recently was named the FFA, 2023 National proficiency winner in swine production. John Neely It was pretty big honor, I never thought I would win the swine production, I mean, United States is definitely a big honor. And it was a lot I've done a lot of work over the years helping my dad. Thomas Capps Now the 20 year old is venturing into the business side of agriculture partnering with his father to continue Neely Livestock. John Neely I ship sheep and goats and hogs and everything pretty much. I'm just now kind of starting out. I'm only moving about 600 a week or something nothing like my dad he does a lot more numbers than I do but I'm what I'm getting there. Thomas Capps Neely purchased his own sell barn in Woodbury last year. He says he's learned a lot in his first year of business. John Neely It's been a tough year starting now and I mean I'll be honest. I won't say it's been easy. It has been tough, you know, breakdowns, stuff, you know, stuff getting sick from the weather, the weather has been pretty weird this fall. Definitely just trying to keep up with everything and keeping everything in line and trying to get the sale barn that I purchased back in August back together that's been a sort of a huge challenge, just trying to manage all that. Thomas Capps From showing livestock and as you've been winning national awards in FFA, and now going into the livestock business nearly is firmly rooted in the agriculture industry. John Neely I mean, I'm trying to be the next generation in swine production and buying and selling and keeping packers happy and supplied because there's not a lot of people in it anymore there's not many small packing houses anymore, and it's kind of sad to see but I mean, you know, if you can keep pushing it, you know, maybe other people will get involved.Don't be afraid to take a chance because it can pay off and it may not pay off but I'm working on it. I kind of stepped off in it and took a chance and it's been alright so far. Thomas Capps For Tennessee Home and Farm Radio, I'm Thomas Capps. Thanks for listening, and have a great day.

Firmly Rooted by Kendall Fox Colossians 2:4-8 4 I say this so that no one will deceive you with persuasive arguments. 5 For even though I am absent in body, I am nevertheless with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your orderly manner and the stability of your faith in Christ. 6 Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. 8 See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the elementary principles of the world, rather than in accordance with Christ.

Ready to squirm a little? Wondering what a moral compass is? It's rooted in truth, character, ethics, and attitude. Truth is a binary—it's a yes or a no, it's on or off. Character has elements. How much integrity do I have? What's my work ethic? People notice these elements. Remember, actions speak louder than words—and you'll be judged by those, not just by what you say. This is ethics. Your attitude influences every relationship and communication you have and you have control over how you choose to respond in every situation. One of the things you might want to consider is how good, or “moral,” are your truth, attitude, character, and your ethics? We're challenging you to be moral! A lack of spiritual fruit in your life may actually be a root problem. So what's keeping those roots from growing down deep?"But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience." - Luke 8:15

He is the Mighty, the Pardoner, the Compassionate! O God, my God! Thou beholdest Thy servants in the abyss of perdition and error; where is Thy light of divine guidance, O Thou the Desire of the world? Thou knowest their helplessness and their feebleness; where is Thy power, O Thou in Whose grasp lie the powers of heaven and earth? I ask Thee, O Lord my God, by the splendor of the lights of Thy loving-kindness and the billows of the ocean of Thy knowledge and wisdom and by Thy Word wherewith Thou hast swayed the peoples of Thy dominion, to grant that I may be one of them that have observed Thy bidding in Thy Book. And do Thou ordain for me that which Thou hast ordained for Thy trusted ones, them that have quaffed the wine of divine inspiration from the chalice of Thy bounty and hastened to do Thy pleasure and observe Thy Covenant and Testament. Powerful art Thou to do as Thou willest. There is none other God but Thee, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. Decree for me, by Thy bounty, O Lord, that which shall prosper me in this world and hereafter and shall draw me nigh unto Thee, O Thou Who art the Lord of all men. There is none other God but Thee, the One, the Mighty, the Glorified. Bahá'u'lláh --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/bahaioasis/message

One of the Savior's most well known parables is the parable of the sower, which, could just have easily been called the parable of the types of soil. What can this parable, and the 4 types of soil that Christ mentioned in it, teach us about hearing and following the word of God? That's what we'll be digging into in this episode. Questions: 1. What can you do to ensure that you cultivate good ground in your life? 2. What are some things that could be "thorns" that keep you from hearing and following the word of God?
