We're Still Learning Pt. 3 | February 15, 2026Pastor Bria BradshawColossians 3:12-13 (ESV) Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.“Because the Bible emphasizes healthy relationships so highly, it's sad that there are so many believers who have hurting or broken relationships. Many Christian homes have been shattered by divorce. Some who stay married are unhappy. Their homes are a tense battle ground, not a loving refuge. Many Christian parents are at odds with their kids and the kids with their parents. On the church level, some bounce from church to church, leaving a trail of damaged relationships behind. I know of Christians who won't speak to other Christians because of misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and wrongs that have taken place. Sadly, the loving families, genuine friendships, and healthy relationships that we want most out of life often elude us.”- Commentary on Colossians 3:12-13Your relationships need a healed you.Unhealthy: That was so long ago. It doesn't matter now.Healthy: What happened then impacts what happens now.Unhealthy: My life is fine. It didn't really bother me.Healthy: I may not see what God can see.Unhealthy: I'm a new creation in Christ. I've put that all behind me.Healthy: The old is made new by acknowledging my need for healing not ignoring it.Mark 8:22-26 (ESV) And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to [Jesus] a blind man and begged him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see people, but they look like trees, walking.” Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. And he sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.”WE'RE STILL LEARNING TO HEAL1. Let Jesus lead your healing journey.Mark 8:23 (ESV) And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village…Ask the Lord, “Where do you want to lead me?”2. Let Jesus do what He wants and how He wants.Mark 8:23-25 (ESV) “...and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see people, but they look like trees, walking.” Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again…Ask the Lord, “Will you do for me what I can't do for myself?”3. Let Jesus show you what you haven't seen in a while.Mark 8:25 (ESV) …and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.Ask the Lord, “What do you want to restore that I haven't seen in a while?”4. Episode 119: Still Learning: How My Teachings Have Evolved Through Lived Experience After seven years of living in a 24/7 DOM/sub dynamic and several years of teaching, Andrew shares how his understanding of the concepts he teaches has deepened and evolved. Growth means being willing to reconsider what you thought you knew, and in this episode, Andrew opens up about the nuances he's discovered through lived experience. In this episode, Andrew explores: Masculine Emotion: Why letting her see you in your emotional process builds intimacy, not polarity loss. The difference between using her as your therapist versus letting her witness your humanity. Feminine Chaos Redefined: Two definitions of chaos and why one represents disorder while the other holds pure potential. How a woman moves from emotional reactivity to embodied calm. Slowing Down on the Inside: Why an externally slow life doesn't matter if you're still racing internally. How your tension as a man blocks her ability to relax and receive. The Role of Fear: Why most relationships are actually between each other's conditioning and programming. How fear protects itself and why you can't force your way through it. Structure vs. Containment: The critical difference that changes everything. Why applying structure to her crushes her spirit, and what she actually needs instead. Individual Healing: Why the work is always individual. How healing yourself transforms the relationship without trying to fix it. This episode offers hard-won wisdom for anyone committed to growth in their dynamic and their life. In this solo episode, I'm taking some time to pause, reflect, and look back on 45 years of life, growth, and learning—both on and off the run. I'm sharing the lessons that have shaped me as a runner, a coach, and a human, and the shifts that continue to guide how I show up today.I talk about how my relationship with health and fitness has evolved over the years—from wanting to be skinny to wanting to be strong, from restriction to truly fueling my body, and from chasing outcomes to learning how to enjoy the process. I share how letting go of the need to be right has opened the door to getting it right—especially when it comes to growth, grace, and self-awareness.This episode goes deeper than training, too. I reflect on moving from a victim mindset to taking ownership of my life, from searching for an identity to choosing one, and from constantly proving myself to trusting myself. I also get honest about the things I'm still working through—procrastination, accepting support, and caring less about other people's opinions. If you're in a season of transition, questioning old patterns, or feeling called to grow into a stronger, more aligned version of yourself, this episode is for you. My hope is that my reflections encourage you to pause, reflect, and give yourself permission to evolve, without needing to have it all figured out.Come hang out with me for a real, honest conversation that feels more like a coaching session for real life. Thanks for being here and running this journey with me.04:08 Embracing Strength Over Skinniness13:04 Fueling the Body with Love18:08 Trusting the Process Over Chasing Outcomes24:56 From Being Right to Getting It Right29:07 Parenting and Growth Mindset30:57 Shifting from Victim to Leader38:11 Choosing Your Identity43:06 Ongoing Personal DevelopmentJoin the 30 Day Running Reset and get a plan that will help you build a strong and injury-proof body by combining running and strength training in a way that actually works for runners like you.Gain access to my new secret podcast, Unbreakable: The Runner's Guide To Injury-Proofing Your Body After 40. Maureen is wise and deeply joyful, and her love and wisdom feel like such an uplifting balm at this very moment, right when we need it. We wandered through topics like the illusion of control in uncertain times, the circle of control vs. the circle of concern, the grief of watching systems fail our own families, and the beauty of aging into greater self-acceptance. She spoke about how every generation faces its own “becoming,” and how vital it is that we stay connected through it all—sharing wisdom, laughter, and responsibility across the years. And she names so beautifully what we can all do "with our one drop." This episode is really about the long arc of healing—how each of us, no matter our age or role, contributes to collective change simply by doing the work in front of us, together. Enjoy!

In this episode we explore what I've come to call a “big sis / lil sis” dynamic. Kind of like you're in your Senior year and they are a Freshman - it's not really a polished "figured it all out and am on the other side of success" expertise but more along the lines of walking alongside someone who happens to be a few years behind on the journey watching you navigate your own growth. There's actually an entire Bluey episode that captures the tension of leading while still learning (shout out to Mia in "Barky Boats" thanks for the inspo.) I bring on someone dear to me, Ciella, a lil sis if you will, and we talk about how to choose the right people to speak into your life, what it means to listen even when the advice stings, and how friendships, business, and marriage can overlap with mentorship in unexpected ways. Whether you're the one looking up or the one being looked to (or perhaps both at the same time in difference scenarios), this conversation is about the messy, valuable, and often surprising role of guiding and being guided when nobody has it all figured out. Ready to sit down with one of the most acclaimed names in the wedding photography world? On this episode of the podcast, we have the amazing Susan Stripling joining us. With more than two decades of experience capturing once-in-a-lifetime moments, Susan brings her signature honesty, humor, and razor-sharp insight to a conversation that dives deep into what it really takes to thrive in this industry.  We talk about everything from her best tips for new and seasoned photographers, to the kinds of fears that still creep in before a shoot (yes, even those of us who have been doing this for 20+ years still get the jitters), and our mutual love of dogs. Susan opens up about the pressure to perform when there are no do-overs, the challenge of staying creatively engaged after hundreds of weddings, and how to turn fear into fuel for growth. And if you've ever noticed how many people in the wedding industry used to work in theater - you are not alone. Since we are both theater people, Susan and I discuss why theater people (actors, directors, makeup artists, etc.) often find their way to the wedding biz - and why those theater chops make for some seriously dynamic photographers. This episode is packed with real talk, professional gold, and a lot of laughs. Whether you're just starting out or you've been in the game for years, Susan's wisdom and warmth will remind you why we fell in love with photography in the first place, and why showing up with a bit of vulnerability and a whole lot of heart still matters. What unfolds is a profoundly honest and vulnerable conversation about belonging, the emotional labor of marginalized people, and what it means to truly listen and connect across differences. Desirae shares how her lived experience as a Mexican-American woman shapes her approach to relationships, while Zach opens up about grappling with his identity as a white man raised with privilege. The episode becomes a model of real-time learning and mutual respect, grounded in curiosity and humility. This is more than just a conversation about culture—it's about how we show up for each other with compassion, honesty, and a willingness to grow. Key Takeaways  Curiosity Over CertaintyZach and Desirae reflect on the importance of asking questions to understand, not to correct. True connection comes from being willing to sit in uncertainty and learn from others' lived experiences.  Self-Esteem as a Spiritual ConceptDesirae explains that healthy intimacy requires healthy self-esteem—and for many marginalized people, self-worth must be cultivated not from the culture around them, but from a deep spiritual sense of belonging and worthiness.  Therapists are Still Learning, TooZach shares a story about unintentionally alienating a client and asks how to be better. Desirae responds with grace and clarity.  Navigating Marriage in a Marginalized BodyDesirae speaks powerfully about what it means to build intimacy in a world that has long devalued your body, identity, and culture.
