Serving as a sheriff's deputy in Martin County, Florida, Gerard Schaefer led a double life, portraying himself as a dedicated officer while secretly engaging in gruesome acts. Schaefer was convicted of the first degree murders of two young women, Susan Place and Georgia Jessup. Investigators suspect that Schaefer was responsible for as many as thirty murders from the late 60s to the early 70s before his arrest and eventual conviction. During his incarceration, Schaefer penned short stories depicting the abduction and murder of women, some of which contained chilling details correlating with women who had been reported missing or bodies that had been found, adding a disturbing layer to the already gruesome nature of his crimes. **TRIGGER WARNING** Abduction | Kidnapping | Torture | Dismemberment | Murder with a weapon (Knife & Gun) | Rape | Animal Cruelty | Racism Hang with us: Follow Us on Instagram Like Us on Facebook Join our Case Discussion Group on Facebook Get Killer Queens Merch Bonus Episodes Check Out our Amazing Sponsors: LolaVie: Get 15% off LolaVie with the code QUEENS at https://www.lolavie.com/QUEENS #lolaviepod Want More Ways to Support the Show? He later became known as The Killer Cop because of his profession at the time of his arrest. In addition to the two teenagers, the authorities believe he was responsible for the deaths of at least 26 other women. What drove this sheriff's deputy commit murder? On this weeks episode, Courtney takes a look at the case of Florida police officer, Gerard Schaefer. Schaefer wasn't any normal officer, he was also a serial killer, who used his power and authority to lure women to their untimely deaths. Schaefer derived pleasure from hurting himself and others, and wrote poems and stories that are believed to be about his sick crimes. He is said to be more heinous than Ted Bundy

The crimes of Gerard Schaefer, AKA the Killer Cop.
Obsessed with moral power and control, Gerard Schaefer was a police officer in Florida who targeted teen hitchhikers in the late 1960s and early ‘70s. Schaefer spent his youth nursing deviant sexual urges, taking solo hunting trips to indulge in self-inflicted rope torture and animal necrophilia. But the most damning evidence of his descent into brutality may be the hellish fantasies he recorded in his journals. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Tomcat and Juan are back with more... Florida true crime! . Gerard Schaefer was an American murderer and suspected serial killer who was imprisoned in 1973 for murders he committed while he was a sheriff's deputy in Florida. THE AXEMAN OF NEW ORLEANS - PART 1 The Axeman of New Orleans was an American serial killer active in New Orleans, Louisiana, and surrounding communities, including Gretna, from May 1918 to October 1919. Press reports during the height of public panic about the killings mentioned similar murders as early as 1911, but recent researchers have called these reports into question. The Axeman was never identified, and the murders remain unsolved. He mainly targeted Italian immigrants and Italian-Americans. But there is so much more to the story that is not known. Gerard Schaefer tried to be many things in his life, the one thing that he was able to become was a murderer. A sexual deviant and killer of small animals from an early age, he was unhealthily obsessed with women's underwear and bondage. He published a book, which he said it was fiction, but most believe the collection of stories is a confession of his terrible acts of violence.Corlyn dives into the Butcher of Blind Creek!!! One side of Schaefer seemed to be a respectable man. He was raised by Catholic parents, applied to priesthood at one point, married, briefly acted as a high school teacher, and filled the position of being a patrol officer. The other side of Gerard was not so pleasant. He murdered animals, had an obsession with women's clothing that led him to spy on teenagers, and ended up killing at least two youths. Fiction Killer even participated in a prison cell killing, although this time as the victim. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
The late 1960s and early 1970s were witness to some of the worst serial killers in American history. Ranking at the top was Gerard John Schaefer, a cop who used his charisma to lure unsuspecting females into his car before torturing and murdering them in brutal fashion. My guest is Patrick Kendrick, who has spent the past 35 years gathering information on Schaefer, and for a time was even the focus of Schaefer's wrath. He is the author of "American Ripper: The Enigma of America's Serial Killer Cop", and his website is: https://www.talesofpatrickkendrick.com

Gerard John Schaefer is the worst author you'll ever read. He really is the absolute worst. Does his crappy writing contain even more evidence of crimes than he was imprisoned for? Or is it all just terrible fiction?
This week our psychological profile is of Gerard Schaefer, a self-confessed serial killer who claims to have murdered up to thirty women, though he was only sent to prison for the 1972 murders of two teenagers - Susan Place, aged 17 and Georgia Jessup, aged 16. Both of them had been tortured before being murdered and buried at Hutchinson Island, Florida. At the times of the murders, Schaefer was a Floridian Deputy Sheriff and was previously a police officer. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Gerard Schaefer, a former Florida police officer, is one of the world's most vile and prolific serial killers. For 10 years he tortured, mutilated and murdered women in three different continents. He took pleasure in the mental anguish even more than the physical pain he inflicted on his victims and preferred to kill two women at one time for "double the pleasure." In order to ensure he didn't get caught, he studied the behavior of other serial killers. However, in 1972, two women managed to escape when Gerard left them tied to the mangrove trees with nooses around their necks while he went to work. He was arrested by his own co-workers at the police station he worked at. While in prison, he mingled with the likes of Ted Bundy and Otis O' Toole, later stating that Ted Bundy sought advice from him. Gerard Schaefer is proof that monsters can disguise themselves as normal human beings. For exclusive episodes and content, click here If you like us, FOLLOW us!Twitter: @TnTcrimes Instagram: @TnTcrimes Facebook: @TnTcrimesVISIT US AT:www.TNTcrimes.comwww.TNTcrimes.com/members/www.Patreon.com/tntcrimesYouTube: TNT: Crimes & Consequences Episode Sources: Killer Cop by Ryan GreenKiller Fiction by Sondra London
For your entertainment we bring you “quarantine episode 1”, there’s drinking involved and a couple kids come to say hi. Gerard Schaefer is one who has issues finding a path to take in his life. He also has issues not screwing things up for himself. Weird fetishes, awful cop skills, and later confessions all make up this bizarre case.

Gerard Schaefer obtained his victims easily in the early 70's, as he was a Martin County deputy who tied a noose around the necks of his young female victims and hung them from the "Devil Tree." He also bound and raped them. If they weren't dead yet, he shot them with a .22 weapon. While in prison for his crimes, Schaefer's luck ran out when another inmate barged into his cell, slashed his throat, and stabbed him in both eyes.

*I apologize in advance for the cackling! I was trying something new. Today I go over the facts of missing Iowa man Sebastian "Ty" Husted, followed by a Deputy Sheriff from Florida who is attributed to dozens of missing person cases which will likely remain unsolved, Gerard Schaefer.
Not many people have heard of the Florida famous Killer Cop. This week we dive into serial killer Gerard Schaefer, who served time at the same prison as Ted Bundy. The two even sometimes like to swap sick stories.
Radio Host and Author Yvonne Mason Discusses her upcoming appearance ond the Investigation Discovery Channel Married With Secrets and her True Crime Silent Sream about the victims of Florida's first serial killer Gerard Schaefer.
The screams which have been silent for thirty four years are no longer silent. They now have a voice. July, 1972 Nancy Trotter and Pamela Sue Wells were taken to a remote area on South Hutchinson Island in Martin County tied, gagged and hung. They were left to die. But they managed to escape. This escape led to an investigation of a crime that before 1972 had no name. Law enforcement was in uncharted waters. The crime serial killings. The killer Gerard Schaefer. Nancy Trotter and Pamela Wells were just two of the nine known and possibly as high as 34 unknown victims. They ranged from Fort Lauderdale Florida to Europe and N. Africa. Silent Scream finally gives the victims a voice - Their screams are no longer silent and with that voice comes peace. On tonight's show the siblings of Debra Lowe have agreed to come on the show and tell their story. It has been 45 years since Debra disappeared on the way to school. She was 13 years old. The nightmare began and has never ceased.
It was a time of innocence, a time of hippies, flower children and the Age of Aquarius. A time when young people felt free to roam the countryside hitchhiking without fear. A time when law enforcement was trusted by the people they were sworn to protect and serve. That time was shattered by one of law enforcements own. His name was Gerard Schaefer. He was a former Florida Police officer who lied his way into the office of the Martin County Florida Sheriff’s Office. He used his lie to continue to perpetrate his crimes of torture and murder of young women who hitchhiked along Florida’s roads. Schaefer not only destroyed the lives of as many as 34 young women, he kept trophies of his kills, and he lived the crimes over and over again. He believed he was doing the world and his victims a justice by ridding the world of the “whores” who hitchhiked. Gerard Schaefer was a narcissistic psychopath who wanted his fifteen minutes of fame. He believed he had earned it. SILENT SCREAM-Yvonne Mason
