Ned dives deep into a powerful lesson that emerged from the everyday chaos of fatherhood: when something matters most, pause. Juggling a busy week of parenting, workouts, and time-blocking, Ned reflects on two moments where choosing presence over productivity reminded him what truly matters. He challenges listeners to be interruptible, to listen to the cues from their children, and to embrace the tension between being driven and being present. This short but impactful episode offers a relatable, actionable reminder for dads committed to showing up with intention.Link and Resources:Transform Your Body with Ned & RUK Fitness: RUK FitnessThis episode is sponsored by The Adventure of FatherhoodOrder The Adventure of Fatherhood children's book hereCheck out the TEDx----------Want to learn more about The Adventure of Fatherhood?https://www.adventureoffatherhood.com/https://www.rebelandcreate.com/Each week Ned sits down with a dad and asks him to open up his field notes and share with other men who find themselves on the Adventure of Fatherhood. Today's story is about Stompy, the little elephant and her exciting fishing trip! But one night there is a storm and Stompy is afraid! Once in the boat, the waves were calm, and Stompy stared in awe and admiration of the vast sea. She had never been so close, surrounded by the endless ocean. As they sailed further, she spotted a few dolphins swimming by and trumpeted with joy. Suddenly, the boat began rocking from side to side. Stompy, Uncle Bob, and Papa Elephant quickly grabbed onto a thick rope with their trunks to keep from being thrown overboard. The rocking grew stronger, and poor Stompy started feeling seasick. She sobbed, scared, and called out for Papa Elephant to help her. Uncle Bob chuckled and said, "Hey, Kiddo, this is normal! I'm used to the rocking of the boat." "But… but…," Stompy tried to speak, but the boat kept swaying, and she couldn't steady herself. Papa Elephant gently pulled Stompy close and said, "Let me tell you a Bible story, Stompy. Did you know that once, Jesus commanded the sea to be quiet?" "Really?" Stompy replied, wide-eyed. What happens next? Tune in to find out. _________________________________________________________________________________ Story by: Martha Hughes Read story on the blog VISIT OUR WEBSITE SHOP OUR BOOKS Shop our audiobooks Special effect editing: James Wagner music credit: http://www.purple-planet.com/ Email us: stories4gigi@gmail.com Write to us: GIGI KIDS STORIES PO BOX 6505 Upper Mt Gravatt Queensland Australia 4122

Ned opens up about a critical and deeply personal question: What belief system am I passing down to my children? Reflecting on his teenage son's transition into manhood, Ned wrestles with the profound responsibility of fatherhood—not just in the early years, but throughout the lifelong journey of guiding a young man into adulthood. Through powerful storytelling and introspective insight, he explores how we as fathers can intentionally shape the belief systems our children carry into the world. This episode challenges you to think beyond the here and now, daring you to consider the legacy you're building—one decision, one conversation, one moment at a time.Link and Resources:Transform Your Body with Ned & RUK Fitness: RUK FitnessThis episode is sponsored by The Adventure of FatherhoodOrder The Adventure of Fatherhood children's book hereCheck out the TEDx----------Want to learn more about The Adventure of Fatherhood?https://www.adventureoffatherhood.com/https://www.rebelandcreate.com/Each week Ned sits down with a dad and asks him to open up his field notes and share with other men who find themselves on the Adventure of Fatherhood. In my opinion, one of the hardest parts about parenting is knowing when to give your kiddo an extra push and knowing when to "back off". There's not a lot of black and white here, just lots and lots of gray!In this episode, I chat with my friend Kim, mom and college admission counselor, on one of the biggest days of her professional (and personal) world: College Decision Day. Plot twist: her eldest son is still making up his mind and may end up choosing a different school than the one he'd planned to accept just a few days ago.
