This week's episode is a caller recommendation. Predating Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, by a year, Confessions of a Serial Killer tells the story of Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole in a thinly veiled pseudo-documentary. Intro: “Necromaniacs” – Mike Hill Outro: “Confessions of a Serial Killer – Goresfest

Author, Willis Morgan was in the Sears in Hollywood, FL on July 27, 1981, where he had a disturbing encounter with a strange and creepy man. He watched the man go into Sears, and to the toy department. Later that day, when the news reported that a young boy, Adam Walsh had been abducted, Willis knew it had to be that guy who did it. The police began their "investigation" and were intent to pin the murder on Ottis Toole, despite multiple people reporting they had seen a blue van. Toole had a white Cadillac. And, it was found out that Toole wasn't even in Florida on the date in question, despite Toole confessing to it. Then, Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested. And when his mugshot and photo went out, Morgan and other witnesses knew that it was Dahmer who had abducted Adam. Morgan went into detective mode, and put together a laundry list of evidence, even tracking down the location where the murder might have taken place. The HPD went into overdrive trying to get Morgan to go away. But in the end, Morgan put together enough evidence on Dahmer that if it went to trial, his evidence alone would have convicted Dahmer. Willis Morgan joins Bill and discusses his incredible book, Frustrated Witness: The Complete Story of the Adam Walsh Case. After being caught, he admitted to multiple murders, his involvement could be proven in some & others were left for speculation. IN THIS EPISODE: Borley Rectory was reputed to be the most haunted house in the UK. It's thought that the rectory was destined to be a haunted house from the start due to the events that had occurred on the site many centuries before. (Borley Rectory: The Most Haunted House in Britain) *** Though it's been shuttered, Willard Asylum still stands as a creepy memorial to those who once walked its halls. (Willard Asylum) *** The bond between grandfather and granddaughter is so strong, it even affects the little girl's sleep. (The Inconsolable Child) *** It had long straggly hair, long fingers, and long arms… and it ran faster than humanly possible. What was it? (Long Haired Entity) ***Artists depict them as children, even toddlers, with wings. Innocent, cute, loving. But the angels called “cherubim” in the Bible may not have been the little angels we depict them as. (Biblical Cherubim – Sweet Angels Or Dangerous Creatures With A Hidden Agenda?) *** The story of the Beale Treasure is one of mystery. The booklet from the 1880s detailed circumstances in which an immense treasure was buried, and included coded messages left on how to find the secret stash of gold, silver, and other jewels. But was it a legitimate opportunity to become wealthy, or someone's idea of a practical joke? (Lost Treasure and the Beale Cipher) *** Of all of the many strange things that one can see out on the road at night, one that is certain to startle anyone is a car blinking out of existence in an instant right before one's eyes… and there are stories coming in from all around the world. (Baffling Cases Of Cars Vanishing Into Thin Air) *** A family experiences strange occurrences all at the same time while in the car – but even stranger, they weren't all in the same car or in the same location. (The Glowing Ball) *** Ghosts can terrorize, but can they also protect? (Stewart The House Spirit) *** In 1990, Danny Rolling left University of Florida students cowering over the course of three days, and murdered five in the process. (The Gainesville Ripper) *** April 26, 1865, in New York a photograph was taken that became the most controversial photo of President Lincoln ever taken. (The Forbidden Portrait of Abraham Lincoln) *** Birthed from troubled pasts, Henry Lucas and Ottis Toole were lovers and deranged serial killers whose crimes would change American laws and TV. This week the ghouls discuss one of film's greatest tough watches, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986). From wiki: “Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer is a 1986 American psychological horror crime film directed and co-written by John McNaughton about the random crime spree of a serial killer who seemingly operates with impunity. It stars Michael Rooker in his debut as the nomadic killer Henry, Tom Towles as Otis, a prison buddy with whom Henry is living, and Tracy Arnold as Becky, Otis's sister. The characters of Henry and Otis are loosely based on convicted real-life serial killers Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole.” But first! Drew Barrymore scabs, which is a bummer, but she apologized so she gets the Bloodhaus Seal of Approval. The hosts talk all about Hollywood unions, Drusilla goes to Vidiots to see Videodrome and they discuss which format is the appropriate one to watch the film. Josh watched Massacre at Central High (1976). Also discussed: Serial Mom, Cannibal Holocaust, Faces of Death, Salo: 120 Days of Sodom, Color Out of Space, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Happiness, Josh learns about the X rating, Karina Longworth, Marvel dialogue, Chicago, The Blues Brothers, Ladies and Gentlemen the Fabulous Stains, Kansas City Bomber, Slapshot, various serial killers, Streetwise, the morality of true crime, Ryan Murphy, and more! In 1983 two ragged drifters, Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole, were arrested for what was at the time unlawful firearm possession and arson. This would grow into an escalating series of claims on the part of both law enforcement and the men themselves that Lucas and Toole had, while traversing the country by car, committed hundreds if not thousands of murders. Lucas had served time for killing his mother in 1960 but this is the only murder either has been credited with that can be authenticated for certain. While no one knows for sure what Lucas or Toole actually did or didn't do what became clear over time is that they were encouraged by law enforcement especially sheriff Jim Boutwell and the Texas Rangers to confess to murders that had not been solved in order to clear their books and fit an image of a killer they were looking for. In so doing they helped develop and entrench the popular image of the serial killer in the national consciousness, though they if anything muddied the picture of what actually happened

Raging Cannibal: the True Story of Serial Killer Ottis Toole AKA The Cannibal KidOttis Toole, born at the bottom of the gene pool, retarded and illiterate, had been out of control since early childhood. A severely drug-dependent individual as well as an arsonist, murderer, rapist, and cannibal, he was unsafe under any conditions outside of a secure prison, and perhaps unsafe there. To him, life itself was so unmeaning, and the distinction between living and dead people so blurred, that killing another human being was no more than swatting an annoying fly. Between 1976 and 1982, together with his serial killer buddy, Henry Lee Lucas, Ottis Toole was reported to have committed over three hundred murders. However, the discrediting of the case against his partner in crime, Henry Lee Lucas, for crimes in which Toole had offered collaborating statements created doubts as to whether either was a genuine serial killer or, both merely compliant interviewees who police used to clear unsolved murders from the books. Now, in RAGING CANNIBAL, a screenplay for film by author Brian lee Tucker, offers up a totally new glimpse into the life of Ottis Toole, one never shown before, the eyewitness accounts, personal testimony, and never-before-uncovered evidence providing an in depth loom into one of the most notorious serial killers that ever lived, who was dubbed the nick name, ‘the cannibal kid.'
Yes. We are finally talking about Adam Walsh. In 2008, the case of Adam Walsh was finally closed with Ottis Toole being named the killer. But, is he really responsible? The kidnapping and murder of Adam Walsh was a huge pioneer for change in how we handle cases like this today.

Today is a continuation of last Thursday's episode. We will discuss the horrors of Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole as they go on a crime spree together. Competing to see who could be more cruel to their victims became a game to these two criminals. Eventually they branch off on their own individual crime sprees before being arrested. May all of you have a happy, safe, crime-free New Year! This is part one of a case about a man who becomes known as the Confession Killer. Before we get into his murder spree and his many many confessions we will discuss his childhood abuse he endures at the hands of his mother and her pimp. We will talk about the struggles of this boy through his teen years and the loss of his father. After murdering his manipulative, violent mother he travels around the USA until he finds himself in a Florida soup kitchen line where he meets a man who eventually becomes his partner in crime. We will briefly discuss this second man's turbulent childhood, which is quite similar to the other man's childhood. They both suffered sexual abuse and physical violence at the hands of the people who should have protected them. The men we will be discussing today are Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole. Next week, we will discuss the violence that ensued once these two men pair up. Give this episode a listen, see if you think these two men were born monsters or nurtured into monsters... Part 2 will air on New Year's Day! IN THIS EPISODE: Though it's been shuttered, Willard Asylum still stands as a creepy memorial to those who once walked its halls. (Willard Asylum) *** The bond between grandfather and granddaughter is so strong, it even affects the little girl's sleep. (The Inconsolable Child) *** It had long straggly hair, long fingers, and long arms… and it ran faster than humanly possible. What was it? (Long Haired Entity) *** Artists depict them as children, even toddlers, with wings. (Lost Treasure and the Beale Cipher) *** Borley Rectory was reputed to be the most haunted house in the UK. It's thought that the rectory was destined to be a haunted house from the start due to the events that had occurred on the site many centuries before. (Borley Rectory: The Most Haunted House in Britain) *** Of all of the many strange things that one can see out on the road at night, one that is certain to startle anyone is a car blinking out of existence in an instant right before one's eyes… and there are stories coming in from all around the world. This week, dear listeners, we're delving into a, dare we say, 'fun' topic? If not fun, then definitely on theme for a spooky Halloween tale - murders that inspired movies! Most of the movies inspired by these tales are horror movies, because of course they are, but some, like Snowtown, are horrifying in a much darker way. And that's not surprising, considering how horrific most of these murders are. We have a serial killer gone wild, at least in his imagination, a murderer who fancies himself a vigilante, metal bands who take their lifestyles VERY seriously, and, of course, the case that inspired one of our favorite teen horror flicks, Scream! These cases are truly awe inspiring, AND movie inspiring, so we hope you like learning a little about the true stories behind your favorite horror films. And while it might be cool to live forever on the big screen, do you very best to stay off of this and all other lists!Check out our website! www.twistedlisterspod.comBrought to you by Podmoth Media Network podmoth.networkJoin us on Patreon: www.patreon.com/twistedlistersFollow us on Instagram: @twistedlisterspcastTiktok: @twistedlistersCases Covered:1.
