In this episode of Insights Unlocked,UserTesting's Sean Treiser sits down with Neeraj Ramesh, Executive Producer of Giving Experiences at Givelify, a mobile and online platform for charitable donations that has empowered over 1.5 million people to give more than $5 billion to causes they care about. Neeraj shares the story of Givelify's journey from a simple idea sparked in church to a powerful tool reshaping the future of giving. Together, they explore the strategies and philosophies that make Givelify stand out, from leveraging user feedback to creating features that genuinely connect with the emotional and practical needs of donors. Neeraj discusses how Givelify listens to its users to develop features that foster trust and encourage consistent giving, all while balancing the needs of donors and charitable organizations. Key Themes: The Birth of Givelify: Givelify's origin story is rooted in a moment of missed opportunity and inspiration, sparking the idea of a platform that would make charitable giving easy and accessible for anyone with a mobile device. User-Centered Design and Trust: Givelify puts donor trust at the forefront, emphasizing data security, transparent processes, and visual cues like familiar faces to help donors feel safe and assured in their giving. Emotional Connection in UX: Givelify's approach goes beyond technical ease; they aim to create an experience that captures the “warm glow” of giving, ensuring donors feel positive and connected with each gift. Innovation in loyalty programs: Neeraj introduces Champions of Good, the first loyalty program in the giving sector, which rewards donors for consistent giving. The feature encourages engagement based on frequency rather than amount, supporting people's desire to give at their own pace. Iterative development with user feedback: Givelify uses insights from UserTesting to understand both new and familiar users, continuously refining features to serve donors better. Testing has revealed valuable insights, such as the potential pitfalls of certain features like “Giving Streaks,” which needed careful adjustment to avoid discouraging users. Balancing stakeholder needs: Neeraj emphasizes the importance of prioritizing donors, even as Givelify works with a wide range of stakeholders, from religious organizations to nonprofits. Features are designed to empower donors while keeping the act of giving meaningful and fulfilling.
More than 8 in 10 (81 percent) faith-based givers who donated money in 2023 gave funds to houses of worship, and 60 percent gave $1,000 or more, according to “Giving in Faith: Exploring Key Trends in Religious Giving,” a joint 2024 report from Givelify, a mobile and online app, and Indiana University's Lake Institute on Faith & Giving. Dan Darling from the Land Center at Southwestern Seminary believes God's people should Honor those who are in public office, even when we disagree. And, in the Baptist Press Toolbox, Kie Bowman talks about the straight-line principle of prayer.

For that last couple of weeks, we talked about the fact that fruit of your life begins with what you think (on a regular basis), which produces the fruit of your lips (or your words), and (ultimately) produces the things you do (or your actions). This is the fruit that grows out of our lives. These are the things that God is looking at. These are the things that God will (ultimately) judge us by. With that being said, we better make sure that we're producing good fruit. To support our ministry, you can give online at www.lojnorthnewark.org/donate. I recently went down a “rabbit hole” as I was studying the scriptures. As I was in my personal study time, my eyes fixed on one statement and I couldn't let it go. That statement was “God is Faithful”. I know that's a simple statement, but it really stuck out to me, so I began to research how many times the Bible states that “God is Faithful”, and in what ways He was faithful. I was amazed at how many times I read that God was Faithful. In this message, we will review them together. Please like and share this message with your family & friends! To support our ministry, you can give online at www.lojnorthnewark.org/donate. You can also give using our Cash App at $LOJNN or through Givelify using the following giving link: https://giv.li/g4uzj3. May God richly bless you in your giving.

"The boostrapping life is not cool, so yes, please take the money." Walle MafolasireThe secrets to bootstrapping are revealed. Walle Mafolasire (pronounced Wall-AY Mafo-LAH-shee-ray) stops by WHERE' THE FUNDING? to share his bootstrapping journey and why you shouldn't if you don't have to, and what he thinks is the hardest part of bootstrapping.Tom Preston-Werner is quoted as saying that "bootstrapping is a way to do something about the problems you have without letting someone else give you permission to do them". Wale didn't wait for VCs to give him permission to solve a major problem for many churches, nonprofits, and causes that were looking for opportunities to fundraise. He solved the problem by bootstrapping the growth of Givelify when he struck out with VCs. Today Givelify is the most popular online and mobile giving platform with an easy donation app and a powerful donation management system. What you'll learn from Walle in this episode: How to become the type of person that people want to take a risk on. When you don't have a plan B, plan A has a way of making itself work. Don't give up! Bootstrapping is what you do when all the doors are closed and you can't find a window. Why he did it and why he thinks that you shouldn't. Hint: it's really hard! What he considers the hardest part of bootstrapping and how he deals with it. Why he thinks it's important to put good into the world and how Givelify does that.
