Welcome to the Daily Disciple Podcast. As daily disciples, we seek to adore and follow Jesus our teacher into the abundant life that he offers. Because we find Jesus to be irresistible and fascinating and incredibly practical, we want to be students of his teaching found in scripture. Today's episode is found in Luke 1 "Our View Of God Matters".
Is there a right way to fear God? Welcome back to My Seminary Life, and the start of a new series called Rabbit Trail. In this series, I will take you down a path that I wanted to go down in a recent sermon I preached but couldn't make it fit in my notes. In my recent sermon on Hebrews 11:1-3, I mention how there is a proper way to fear God. Here in this episode, I take you down that path on why I think fearing God matters, how it can serve as a guardrail against being too casual in our faith, and you get to hear a lot from Producer Cooper. Having a good relationship with God guarantees safety, deliverance, confidence, and courage in life challenges. This could be achieved among others by being born again, reading His words, praying to Him, and obeying His leading always.

What we are we talking about when we talk about God? The God image that has dominated Western history is of an “old man in the sky.” Even if we know this image is metaphorical and laughable, it nevertheless dominates the Western imagination: God is “up there,” transcendent, and we are “down here.” In this episode, we discuss why how we talk about God is so important, because it influences how we think about all sorts of things. And we explore how cultivating a philosophy of the Divine as immanent—“right here”—can change our values and how we not only experience but also participate in the world around us.
"Life is what it is. And no one can say with certainty that God exists, so why bother asking the question? One day I guess we'll all find out!"What difference does it make to life if there is, or there isn't a God? This episode examines three critical areas of life that assume radically different perspectives based on where we land on this question.Follow us to join the conversation!https://shmoozing.nethttps://www.facebook.com/groups/5871772776273202https://twitter.com/moshezeldman
Brandon shares on how our view of God matters
The main idea of this podcast episode is that fearing the Lord is the most important thing in life. This means living our lives in a way that reflects his character and doing what he says. When we fear the Lord, we are a blessing to others and we will be praised by him. The passage for today is Proverbs 31:30, which says, "Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." The author of Proverbs is challenging us to remember that we are not God and that we should put him first in our lives. When we do, he will make us to be praised and rewarded. Fearing the Lord does not mean that we are afraid of him or that he will punish us. It means that we give him reverence and awe, we respect him, and we do what he says. The wisest thing we can do is what we believe Jesus would have us do, even if it ends up not working out the way we thought it would. This is how we learn and grow closer to him. When we fear the Lord, we are a blessing to others. We reflect his character and we do what he has called us to do. The speaker's prayer is that we would all ask God what he would have us do and then go do it. This is how we show that we fear him and follow him. Fearing the Lord is the most important thing in life because it leads to a life that is pleasing to God and a blessing to others.

As Christians we are faced everyday with responding to God. We see God healing others. We watch God bless others. Too often we respond with jealousy rather than joy. Every day we are forced to choose God or to choose ourselves. In the story of the healing of the man with legion demons, the crowd rejected God because following Him meant losing their herd of pigs. They chose their pigs instead of God. We must stop pushing God away like the crowd.
The world around us seems to have little understanding of who God is. Join us on this week's Liberty Cafe as we discuss how Christians should go about explaining to the world why God matters, especially when it comes to the culture and civil government.
Bill Peacock talks about effectively sharing the word of God.
In this episode, we're talking about our relationships with God using the analogy of a relationship down here. We use Exodus 34:14 (and others defining God as jealous), as well as mentions of the Bride of Christ/Lamb's Bride. I really enjoyed creating this episode--please tell me what you think! You can always shoot me an email to whyitmatterspodcast@gmail.comThanks for listening!

How much of a difference would it make in this conflicted world if we were all we are rooted in love? We could look past all the stuff of this world and see people. Part of our mission includes getting closer to God. In today's message, Tyler teaches why getting closer to God matters and how it can help us love people. Questions for Reflection: • Do you feel close to God? If not what is one step you can take today to move in that direction? • Have you signed up for a group or class at BridgePoint?
Are questions, concerns, or doubts preventing you from making a personal connection with God? Here's the good news. Adults don't follow Jesus because they get all their questions answered. They follow Jesus because something happens that shrinks their questions, and that something is always up close and personal.
