With the Western Am at one of his favorite spots in Chicago, Andy is in a great mood for this Wednesday recording. To start things off, he gets Brendan going on the wonders of growing up as caddies and the lessons they learned at a young age that today's kids are missing out on due to their "silly apps." Eventually they get to pro golf, beginning with the latest news from what looks like LIV Golf's last stand. Flushing It has reported that the league will cancel its season-ending team championship in Michigan, leaving just two events left on the schedule. Andy compares these constant updates to the "world's longest funeral procession" as the reported September 1st deadline for new investors gets closer and closer. Brendan spent the morning looking at the rest of the year's calendar and tasked Andy and PJ with making lists of the five events they're most looking forward to after this week. There's plenty of Presidents Cup excitement, but a Solheim Cup, Walker Cup, and the U.S. Am at Merion are also reasons to stay tuned in through the fall. In this discussion, Brendan submits a new strategy for the International Team that may throw the Americans off at Medinah. As for this week's schedule, the Rocket Classic puts on its grand finale at a newly-renovated Detroit Golf Club, the AIG Women's Open rounds out another major season, and the Champions Tour is hanging at Ernie's Place in Portugal. The two wrap with news of the first two Championship Series sponsorships beginning in 2028 and the very hefty price tags that come with these naming rights. Has the PGA Tour's newest star finally arrived? Andy and Brendan went LIVE on YouTube on Sunday night for a lengthy recap of the 3M Open following Jackson Koivun's first PGA Tour win. Koivun held off a charging Scottie Scheffler at TPC Sod Farm, never allowing the lead to be closer than two shots during the final round. Andy and Brendan discuss what this victory means not only for Koivun's early career, but also for the future of the PGA Tour as they may have a new star to build around with the massive schedule changes coming in just two years. Andy highlights Koivun's competitiveness and poses that his mentality is the reason why he'll be different from past "young stars" like Matthew Wolff, Nick Dunlap, and Luke Clanton. Brendan then stops to give Scottie Scheffler his flowers after yet another runner-up finish, his fourth of this season. Koivun's Presidents Cup chances immediately became a topic of online conversation, so Andy and Brendan run through the U.S. standings and wonder if the "Boys Club" mentality will win out again for this year's event at Medinah. Other 3M amusements include a big week from Muzzy Donohue, an amazing visual from Lucas Glover, and a strong Sunday round from Jake Knapp. Elsewhere in results, Big Tom Morrison's hot streak on the Korn Ferry Tour led to a win, Jerry Kelly's "hockey brain" captured the senior Claret Jug, and Lucas Herbert made up for a Birkdale loss by winning LIV U.K. A Sports Minute focusing on LeBron James and Pete Crow-Armstrong closes out this episode, but Brendan tosses in a much-needed Nico Echavarria update for all those clamoring for one! Smylie Kaufman and Charlie Hulme break down Jackson Koivun's stunning 3M Open win — his first PGA Tour title in just his third start as a pro, holding off a hard-charging Scottie Scheffler at TPC Twin Cities. They revisit Smylie's April prediction that Koivun could make the Presidents Cup team, along with a deep dive into Brandt Snedeker's Presidents Cup roster dilemma (young guns vs. proven veterans).Other 3M topics include a fifth runner-up finish for Scottie Scheffler, an ode to Grumpy Old Dudes after a viral Lucas Glover metal spikes moment, and “3Minutes” with producer Jaxon Brown. Before all that: Smylie tweaks his back wrestling his kids into car seats in the rain during a solo parenting weekend, and Charlie gets torched by a mineral sunscreen mishap on the beach.Tune in soon for a fuller breakdown of the state of LIV Golf after a brief discussion to close the episode. Matt Adams recaps the 154th Open with European Tour winner Paul Eales as they discuss Ryan Fox's historic victory at Royal Birkdale. Hear from the Champion Ryan Fox and get a preview of the upcoming Presidents Cup.
Fresh off a thrilling finish at Royal Birkdale which saw him hoist the Claret Jug, Ryan Fox joins Smylie Kaufman and Charlie Hulme to relive his first major win at the 2026 Open Championship — only the fourth Kiwi to win a major, and the first to bring the Claret Jug home to New Zealand since Bob Charles in 1963. Fox walks through his major championship record-tying 62 on Saturday (and the improbable fairway bunker shot on 18 that capped it off), the driver decision on the 13th that swung his Sunday momentum, an incredible approach at 16, and the nerves he felt reading the winning birdie putt on 18.Plus: A brand new Srixon driver responsible for some of the most clutch shots he hit all week + the Z-STAR ball that gave him an edge over the rest of the field in the windy conditions, his dad Grant Fox's legendary All Blacks career and 1987 Rugby World Cup win, New Zealand's golf course boom, whether a PGA Tour event or Presidents Cup could ever land in New Zealand, and a detour into Fox's Bordeaux-heavy wine cellar. Before all that: the saga of getting the real and replica Claret Jugs through airport security and onto the flight home — including an awkward moment in line next to runner-up Cameron Young.Don't forget to like, comment, subscribe, and follow us on socials @thesmylieshow!Chapters0:00 Intro & Ryan Fox's dad, All Blacks legend Grant Fox2:39 Has life changed since becoming Champion Golfer of the Year?3:39 New Zealand's 4th major champion & ending a 63-year Claret Jug drought4:29 The Claret Jug's wild flight home9:19 Echoes of Hideki Matsuyama's Masters travels10:19 Friday's grind just to make the cut12:12 Saturday's record-tying 6213:14 The bunker shot and putt that closed out the 6218:29 The 13th hole driver gamble and riding the wave of momentum23:24 The approach at 16 and feeling the crowd's energy29:03 Composure and nerves on the 18th green32:45 The backstory on Ryan's putter34:42 No snakes in New Zealand???35:57 The 2014 Muriwai Open and New Zealand's links golf38:00 The 2021 Muriwai win with Steve Williams caddying39:48 Touring New Zealand's booming golf course scene42:50 Could the PGA Tour — or a Presidents Cup — come to New Zealand?46:25 Wine talk: Bordeaux, Hawke's Bay, and the Claret Jug48:23 Sign-off

A longtime friend and former colleague of Danny's, Mike joins us to reminisce and reflect on the people, places, and hard-earned lessons that shaped his approach to service. We chat about the wild early days of Bavette's and the Doughnut Vault, preparing Medinah for the 2026 Presidents Cup, White Castle, and as always, so much more.

Gary Williams opens the show with a passionate reflection on the importance of storytelling in golf following the end of Sports Illustrated's dedicated golf coverage. He discusses the role legendary writers have played in shaping the game's biggest moments, from Amen Corner to major championship history, and why the human element remains at the heart of great sports journalism. Gary also previews the Memorial Tournament, highlights NCAA Men's Golf Championship action, and shares thoughts on some of the game's brightest young stars.Brendon de Jonge, former PGA TOUR player and SiriusXM host, joins Gary to rank the best players in the world by tiers. The two debates where players like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Åberg, and others belong in today's pecking order. They also discuss potential Presidents Cup sleepers, emerging stars, and which players could make a late-season run toward Player of the Year honors.Jack Nicklaus, 18-time major champion and host of the Memorial Tournament, reflects on the origins of one of golf's most prestigious events and the vision he and Barbara Nicklaus had when creating Muirfield Village. Nicklaus shares stories from the tournament's early years, explains how he built the event around the player experience, and discusses the importance of honoring golf's history through the Captains Club and annual honorees. The Golden Bear also weighs in on Rory McIlroy's career Grand Slam, Scottie Scheffler's continued dominance, and how modern players prepare and analyze the game. Nicklaus offers perspective on course management, major championship golf, and what he enjoys most about mentoring and interacting with today's generation of PGA TOUR stars.John Bodenhamer, USGA Chief Championships Officer, joins the show from Riviera Country Club ahead of the U.S. Women's Open. Fred Funk was cut from his college golf team at the University of Maryland, yet ultimately returned to coach at that same school. He was an older rookie on the PGA Tour, and he went on to capture the Tour's marquee event as its oldest winner. Hardly long off the tee, he led the Tour in driving accuracy eight times en route to eight wins, two Presidents Cup appearances and a spot on the 2004 U.S. Ryder Cup Team. Enjoy this terrific interview with Fred, whose fighting spirit has made him one of golf's great stories. And the Tiger Woods tale is so awesome!
This First of the Month recording has everyone in a great mood off the jump, with Andy immediately taking a victory lap for a big weekend from Pete Crow-Armstrong against the Cardinals. Brendan quickly transitions things to Russell Henley's playoff win at the Charles Schwab Challenge, the sixth PGA Tour victory of his career. Henley birdied the final three holes in regulation to tie Eric Cole before making another on the sole playoff hole. Andy brings up some other six-time winners in an effort to contextualize Henley's career and his chances of winning a major championship. Brendan calls Henley a likely Presidents Cup lock despite believing the U.S. should look to build some younger stars ahead of Adare Manor. The two discuss Colonial's continued run as a challenging Tour stop and suggest that this should be the main Texas event on the new schedule. Andy and Brendan then run through results from the rest of the golf world, starting with yet another Joaquin Niemann win for LIV Golf. Despite the individual win for Niemann, the Crushers still took down the team title in Korea, aided by Bryson DeChambeau's use of Google Gemini to help fix his swing. Nobody can fathom any player other than Bryson needing to use AI in order to help figure out swing woes, but Andy thinks this may HELP his chances at Shinnecock. This episode wraps with a recap of the Men's NCAA Championships through Sunday, with the final individual round and the team match play still to come early this week. Andy and Brendan! went LIVE on YouTube for this Friday morning recording covering the latest in college golf results, LIV golf rumors, and a hot start for Tom Kim at an outdoor golf venue. The two recap Stanford's win at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship and wonder why college golf has not taken off like other non-revenue sports like baseball and softball in recent years. Brendan shares some intel from LIV Korea, where it seems like tensions are high heading into next week's stop in Spain. Talor Gooch has the early lead there, perhaps as a tribute to his beloved Thunder's deep run into the Western Conference Finals. LIV also discontinued its "Any Shot, Any Time" feed on the app, making Andy wonder just how many app viewers are now left in the dark due to this unannounced change. A beefy Flashback Friday on the PGA Tour's history at Colonial Country Club makes for the bulk of this episode. Brendan did some digging and found articles written by one of Lee Harvey Oswald's pallbearers that go into detail about the hijinks about the early days of the PGA Tour's time in Fort Worth. As we come to find out, some articles even quoted a player as naming Colonial “the premier girl-watching stop on Tour." SGS Golf Advice rounds out the week, with Andy, Brendan, and PJ tackling submissions about playing golf with randoms, a late WD from a buddies' tournament, and what to do if someone skins a squirrel they kept in a cart cooler. Andy makes his triumphant return to the pod after missing out on one of the great content bonanzas in golf history over the holiday weekend. He joins Brendan! for an "all over the place" Wednesday episode previewing yet another week of rainy Texas golf on the PGA Tour. After a brief foray into whatever the "Enhanced Games" are (and naming some favorite MLB steroid users), the two react to a Josh Carpenter report regarding the first half of the 2027 PGA Tour schedule. Not much has changed in terms of actual tournaments, but dates have shifted for events like the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Cadillac Championship, and this podcast's beloved CJ CUP Byron Nelson. There's an element of nihilism from both Andy and Brendan as they both wonder what these changes mean, if they mean anything at all. As a proud supporter of the MAC, Brendan is fired up about Eastern Michigan Women's Golf making a Final Four run at this week's NCAA Championships. The Charles Schwab Challenge is previewed at length despite Michael Block not being in the field. One-and-done picks are made with three big names coming off the board for this #GamblingPod's selections before diving into 5 Guys to Monitor This Week. This segment is where things spiral out of control a bit, as you'll find a look at the "American Sports discourse," PJ's Knicks celebration, more rollback conspiracies, and "YouTube Golf Minute" all packed in between chatter about Kevin Kisner and Justin Thomas. Sepp Straka is NOT in Texas, but he is in homeland for this week's Austrian Open at what Brendan has heard is "a horrible golf course" that may have a Design Disaster in play! Brendan also shares an on-the-ground report that Andy Sullivan's family has been made aware of his "Bumblebee" nickname. Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson spoke to the media yet again at LIV Korea, with each making some interesting comments regarding the league's future. Lastly, some Tiger Woods news closes out this wide-ranging Wednesday episode that may require a closer look at his major championship future (across all levels of the game). Brendan and The Boys return for a Monday recording recapping perhaps the biggest content week of the year! Now armed with a weekend of data following Friday's bonus Happy Hour episode, the three further unpack the absolute domination of Lanny Wadkins' $25 million renovation of TPC Craig Ranch by this week's field at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson. Wyndham Clark shot a final-round 60 en route to his first win in over two years, edging out Si Woo Kim and Scottie Scheffler atop the leaderboard. Joseph comes armed with stats showing that this might've been the easiest PGA Tour event ever and PJ is basking in the glow of a week that provided some of the most insane quotes possible regarding a host venue's ability to test the best players in the world. Brendan ponders whether Wyndham is back on track for a spot at this year's Presidents Cup as he seems to be in a better place after a "year of adversity" as was so often referenced on the broadcast. Blades Brown felt right at home during this week's birdie-fest, claiming that his time on the Korn Ferry Tour prepared him for tournaments like this. He secured his Special Temporary Membership on the PGA Tour with his top-15 finish, leading to a perplexing situation where he'll have to sacrifice much-needed KFT points in order to continue playing PGA Tour events. Brendan and Joseph argue that this should not be the case and wonder if this pathway will be adjusted moving forward. The three whip through the rest of this weekend's results, with PJ providing some exclusive on-the-ground nuggets from the Champions Tour stop in Morocco. They foray into a brief bit of news reporting from Eamon Lynch regarding the "Tier One" and "Tier Two" events on the 2028 PGA Tour schedule and whether the top-tier of players will be allowed to "move down" for a week and play "Tier Two" events. To close things out, Brendan, Joseph, and PJ follow up just a little bit on Friday's breaking news that Don Rea was dismissed from his post as President of the PGA of America. Don has stayed silent to this point, and so has the PGA despite promising a formal announcement on Friday afternoon. How long will this silence last? This podcast pledges to provide the most in-depth coverage possible regarding this ongoing situation. SGS goes to the bullpen as PJ and Kevin Van Valkenburg slide into the big chairs for a late Sunday recording. The two aren't entirely sure how they got here, but they applaud Andy for taking the night off to celebrate the Bulls securing a top-four pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. Things stay on the rails to start, as PJ and Kevin quickly get into another "juice-less" week at Quail Hollow for the Truist Championship. Kristoffer Reitan broke through for his first PGA Tour win after getting into this Signature Event on the Aon Swing 5 list, defeating a smattering of European Ryder Cup hopefuls like Alex Fitzpatrick and Nicolai Hojgaard. Reitan successfully navigated the "Green Mile" to round out his Sunday and got to show off an unlikely sponsor during his winner's interview on CBS. Kevin is quick to jump on a runner-up finish for Rickie Fowler and suggests that a Rickie win at the PGA could be the best possible outcome for the sport of golf. PJ is concerned about a "Space Jam" situation unfolding after Justin Thomas bragged about stealing Cameron Young's putter and a tough Sunday on the greens cost Cam a back-to-back win. There's also plenty of Jordan Spieth discussion after he resurrected the "go get that" moment early in an uncompetitive week. In other news, Team USA's captain has won on the PGA Tour yet again! Brandt Snedeker took home the title at the OneFlight Myrtle Beach Classic, his first win since 2018, but was quick to note that he has absolutely no plans to play in the Presidents Cup this fall. He is excited to play in his first major since 2021 this week, and PJ suggests keeping a close eye on who Snedeker tees it up with in practice rounds at Aronimink. Lucas Herbert went wire-to-wire at LIV Virginia, holding off a charging Anthony Kim on Sunday and securing his spot in the 2026 U.S. Open. In a very important installment of Champions Tour Minute, PJ recaps Boo Weekley's win at the Insperity Invitational and shares a special shoutout that Boo received from a famous friend on social media. Overseas, Yurav Premlall might've been the most unlikely DP World Tour winner of all time at this week's Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship, and Chris Wood returned to the winner's circle to round out this week of 2016 throwbacks. In news that we couldn't make up if we tried, professional wrestling company AEW held a show in the SoFi Dome on Saturday featuring wrestlers tackling each other into the very same bunkers that Kevin Kisner hit shanks in for Marty Smith's entertainment! Eamon Lynch also sat down with new PGA of America CEO Terry Clark to get the scoop on Don Rea's whereabouts (among other things) as we arrive at the year's second major championship. Andy and Brendan will return on Tuesday night for a LIVE preview of the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Joseph LaMagna comes in fresh off his first round of 2026 and admits he's been having trouble sleeping as of late, leading things perfectly into another Pillow Talk segment to kick off this Friday show. It was a sleepy Thursday round at a rain-soaked Quail Hollow for the Truist Championship where Matt McCarty leads at the conclusion of play. Joseph and Brendan take stock of the Truist as an event and Quail Hollow as a PGA Tour venue, making its return to the regular schedule after hosting last year's PGA Championship. Speaking of the PGA Championship, the "special invitations" into next week's field went out over the past few days and Joseph is taking exception to some invitees getting in ahead of Canada's sweetheart Sudarshan Yellamaraju. The bulk of this episode is spent on more news from LIV Virginia as seemingly everyone is now free to speak their mind about the league and its future. Brendan, Joseph, and PJ run through quotes and posts from Ian Poulter, Anirban Lahiri, Graeme McDowell, and Bryson DeChambeau after the latest rounds of media availability. Bryson seems to have a misunderstanding of the PGA Tour's social media policy and admits that it could factor into his decision about where to play in the future if he doesn't re-sign with the Crushers. The trio wonders if Bryson now sees himself as a YouTuber more than a Professional Golfer and how that mindset will impact his choices moving forward. Brendan then takes The Boys back to the 2005 Wachovia Championship for Flashback Friday, remembering Sergio Garcia blowing a record-tying six-shot lead after 54 holes. Things wrap up with some assorted amusements from the world of sports and Joseph's initial thoughts on next week's PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club. We will return on Monday for another week of major championship golf, including live shows on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! The Content Gods delivered an absolute goldmine of press conference quotes for this Wednesday episode! Andy joins Brendan fresh off of U.S. Open Media Day at Shinnecock Hills and he airs some grievances about all facets of Long Island without PJ present. The two discuss whether Shinnecock is possibly the best golf course in the world and remember the most iconic shots from previous U.S. Opens played in Southampton. After a brief tangent regarding the new programmatic ads inserted into the audio version of the show - there's a first time for everything! - things get back on track with three major LIV stories from Tuesday. First, Jon Rahm has reached an agreement with the DP World Tour to pay all outstanding fines and pay the necessary events to retain membership. Rahm suggested that concessions were made on both sides, but the DPWT is merely forcing him to play one fewer event. Rahm also had some interesting comments regarding his future with LIV Golf, saying "I don't see many ways out," when asked about his contract. While Rahm got existential, Bryson DeChambeau spent the day at the White House alongside Todd Golden, Noah Syndergaard, and TJ Oshie among other "sports stars" as part of a new initiative from President Trump. He also revealed his plans for the future of his YouTube channel, including dubbing his videos into different languages to give the world a reason to watch YouTube! Before the LIV main event, there is a brief Truist Championship preview segment as the PGA Tour returns to Quail Hollow after last year's major championship delay. Rory McIlroy is back after another Masters win, Xander Schauffele looks to re-insert himself into the major conversation, and this Gambling Podcast looks to stay hot on picks! The two run through the rest of the Schedule for the Week, including an alternate event featuring Brooks Koepka, the LPGA's stop in New Jersey, and a Tiger Woods-less Insperity Invitational. It is then SHOWTIME for this episode, as Brendan does a dramatic reading of today's Scott O'Neil press conference at LIV Virginia. From 50+ mentions of "business" to a ridiculous Mother's Day greeting, you will not want to miss these quotes as LIV kicks off its first United States-based event of 2026. In this episode, Greg Bedalov sits down with Joie Chitwood, Executive Director of the Presidents Cup, John Duggan, Vice Chairman of Operations at Medinah Country Club, and Jim Hart, Vice Chair of the Host Committee, to discuss what it takes to bring the 2026 tournament to DuPage County. They break down why Medinah rose to the top as the host site, what goes into preparing for an event of this scale, and how local and regional partners are working together to deliver a world-class experience. For one final time, Andy joins Brendan from The Shed(!) for this Sunday recording as they look back on the formative years of this podcast. It's often said that the more things change, the more they stay the same, so it's nice that Cameron Young's dominant 2026 season remains in progress despite Andy leaving The Shed behind. Mr. 1,000 blitzed the field at the inaugural Cadillac Championship, defeating World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler by six in the end. This event was practically over on Friday afternoon and Cameron secured his third PGA Tour victory despite calling a penalty on himself for his ball moving at address on a day with Preferred Lies. Brendan found the whole week at Trump Doral sleepy and wonders if there's anything the PGA Tour can do to make events between majors truly stand out. The two discuss which PGA Tour events matter on their own and nearly all occur before the Masters. Andy gives major props to Cameron Young for his continued evolution into a top three player in the world and there's a debate whether the foursome of Young, Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Matt Fitzpatrick have separated themselves from the rest of the world. In other Doral news, Adam Scott looks likely to qualify for his 100th straight major, Justin Rose's McLaren irons didn't make it out of the garage, and Alex Fitzpatrick secured a top ten finish without his brother! Brendan and Andy then run through results from the rest of the world, including a back-to-back runaway win for Nelly Korda, a famous Michael winning on the DP World Tour, and a SECOND major championship win this year for now-Ryder Cup Vice Captain Stewart Cink. Lastly, Brendan wraps up this show with some... enthusiasm for a Game 7 performance from James Harden! Visit BDraddy.com and use promo code SGS30 for 30% off your 2026 Presidents Cup gear! LIV Golf might've learned something from Andy's weekend of garage sales as they're looking for buyers ahead of the 2027 season. Andy joins Brendan! from a very empty house for this First of the Month Recording packed with - you guessed it! - more LIV news from the golf story of the year. As first reported by Josh Carpenter, Yasir Al-Rumayyan is OUT as Chairman of LIV Golf, leaving his post on the league's Board of Directors as the Saudi PIF pulls its funding at the end of 2026. LIV replaced Yasir with two new board members on Thursday, one of whom has a long history of joining companies cleaning up the pieces after filing for bankruptcy. Andy and Brendan bat around some LIV takes, including what value, if any, Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm might actually bring to the PGA Tour if they were to return. Should LIV fold or look drastically different moving forward, it's decided that the biggest winner could be the DP World Tour with players such as David Puig and Tyrrell Hatton playing there full-time next year. Meanwhile, the PGA Tour is playing this week for another $20 million purse at Trump Doral, where True American Patriot Cameron Young broke the course record on a day with no wind in Miami. Justin Rose debuted his shiny new McLaren clubs en route to a disappointing score, but Brendan is especially appalled at the retail price of these new irons. In yet another example of wild money being spent on golf for unknown levels of return, Andy and Brendan then read a statement from Motor City Golf Club that accompanied a logo release for their first TGL season in 2027. After a Playoff Basketball Minute, Kevin Van Valkenburg stops by to share a B. Draddy Flashback Friday about an International Presidents Cup legend winning at Doral. Gary Williams opens the show with strong opinions on U.S. Open local qualifying, addressing the growing issue of influencers capturing content during competition and why it disrupts the integrity of the game. He also reflects on the nostalgic return to Doral, the significance of Oakland Hills' restored clubhouse, and what these moments mean for golf's history and future.George Savaricas, Golf Channel host and reporter, joins from Doral to break down the current PGA TOUR season at the halfway point. He discusses early Player of the Year candidates like Matt Fitzpatrick and Rory McIlroy, while analyzing whether Scottie Scheffler is poised for another dominant run. Savaricas also shares insight on how the TOUR's evolving structure, including signature events, is impacting players and fans.Savaricas also dives into the return of Doral as a venue, what it means for the PGA TOUR schedule, and whether the Miami market can recapture the energy it once had. He provides perspective on course setup, player familiarity, and how the event fits into a critical stretch leading into the PGA Championship.Keith Stewart, founder of Read The Line, joins to provide a betting and course strategy breakdown for the week at Doral. Stewart explains how the Blue Monster's length, Bermuda grass conditions, and unpredictable rough place a premium on elite long-iron play and trajectory control. He also evaluates the field from a wagering standpoint, highlighting Scheffler's dominance in key metrics while offering insight into how bettors should approach the tournament, including timing and live betting strategies. The conversation wraps with a broader look at the game's evolution, including changing player dynamics, his long-term perspective covering stars like Jordan Spieth, and expectations for the upcoming Presidents Cup in Chicago.5 Clubs airs on Golf Channel and SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio (Channel 92).0:00 U.S. Open Qualifying Drama10:00 PGA TOUR returns to Doral16:45 George Savaricas 32:15 Keith StewartFOLLOW 5 Clubs: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/5clubsgolf/X: https://x.com/5ClubsGolf Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/5ClubsGolf/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@5clubsgolf
Welcome to Chatter with BNC, Business North Carolina's weekly podcast, serving up interviews with some of the Tar Heel State's most interesting people. On today's episode, Ben Kinney speaks with Adam Sperling, Executive Director of the Truist Championship, about the return of premier professional golf to Charlotte's iconic Quail Hollow Club, May 6-10. Adam shares his winding path into the golf world — from a college internship at the 2003 PGA Championship to stints at Pebble Beach, Las Vegas, and eventually Charlotte for the 2021 Presidents Cup — and why he fell in love with the region. He breaks down what's new for this year's tournament, including three reimagined fan zones, a partnership with Atrium Health offering free water and Stanley cups, first-ever public grandstand seating on the 17th green courtesy of Hendrick Auto, and a new wayfinding app powered by CPI Security. The two also dig into what makes Charlotte's corporate community so uniquely invested in events like this, the power of golf as a community gathering, and — naturally — their shared love of Goose, Bruce Springsteen, and whether playing music on the course is still controversial.

Así como una nueva categoría de competencia y mejor regularización de hándicaps.
So we received a message from John who told us a very funny story about playing golf with a fancy lawyer whose driver ended up stuck in a tree. Wonder if he could hold that tree in 'contempt of course' ?? (see what we did there?).Anyway, John went on to ask what funny things Nick and Mark have ever seen on the golf course....and once the memory bank started flowing, oh my gosh were there some stories!Mark had a story about a putter in a tree;Nick once saw a caddy quit mid round in a tournament after his Pro was behaving badly.A fantastic story about Seve Ballesteros, we hear the audioJohn Daly sacking someone, and hiring them in a different role - one related to some of his non-golf interests. We remember the time US Pro Hannah Gregg came across a massive snake in the halfway house on an Australian golf course with Mark making an outrageous claim about Rory McIlroy. The extremely amusing, although not for him, incident involving Mike Clayton many years ago.And we finish hearing a fun video from a comedian on TikTok called Max Price about a day on the course...sort of...very funny. You can follow him here. Ooops....hang on, whilst we're listening to and watching the video, Nick remembers one other very funny story about when he played the Presidents Cup in Montreal involving one of the US Team Members. Thanks John for the idea, this was fun! We're live from Titleist and FootJoy HQ thanks to our great partners:BMW, luxury and comfort for the 19th hole;Titleist, the #1 ball in golf;FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf;PING will help you play your best;Golf Clearance Outlet, they beat everyone's prices;Betr, the fastest and easiest betting app in Australia; And watchMynumbers and Southern Golf Club. It was professional golf's party week and we sent Tim down to Arizona for the Waste Management Phoenix Open. He took in all the festivities and is gonna fill us in all the wild stuff he saw in Scottsdale. Chris Gotterup got his 2nd win of the season in a playoff over Hideki Matsuyama and a bogey on the last by Matsuyama sent it into a playoff, which Gotterup birdied the first playoff hole for the win. Scottie Scheffler made a run the last three rounds after an opening round 73, but he came up a shot short. We will give our reactions to the event and focus on some young players that stood out again and should get serious consideration for the Presidents Cup team. Patrick Read won again on the DP World Tour, his second victory in three weeks. This all but locks up a 2027 PGA Tour card for the former Masters champion. It also vaulted Reed to number 17 in the world as he looks to get back on golf biggest stage. Subscribe to the Break80 Podcast on Apple, Spotify & YouTube for weekly golf content. It is NOT a Victory Wednesday (or Tuesday) episode for Andy, but he's back to join Brendan! for a preview of some September golf throughout the world. Things kick off with a quick Champions Tour Minute highlighting Thomas Bjorn's win in St. Louis that was ignored on Monday's Walker Cup recap. Bjorn took home one of the more interesting trophies in golf at the Stifel Charity Classic before working as an AssCap for Team Europe in a few weeks. Speaking of Ryder Cup preparations, 10 of the 12 Americans are in the field at the ProCore Championship in Napa. Tuesday's practice round has already brought some early "pods" and potential pairings. Scottie Scheffler looks like he'll run it back with Russell Henley after a strong showing at the Presidents Cup while his deputy, Sam Burns, played a round with Mr. 1,000 and No-Hat Pat. Team Europe is also gathering this week - they're almost all in the field at the BMW PGA at Wentworth in England. Rory McIlroy had some insightful comments regarding his future schedules in his pre-tournament press conference and stopped just short of naming some events he doesn't particularly care for. Also teeing it up at Wentworth is defending champion Billy Horschel, who makes his return to competitive golf following a mid-year injury. To preview this week's Champions Tour event in South Dakota, Andy runs down the Schwab Cup standings and once again wonders who Ricardo Gonzalez is. In news, future Champs Tour star Tiger Woods was seen hitting balls on a New Jersey range on Monday, sending the internet into a storm, per usual. To close the show, Andy comments on Monday night's Bears loss to the Vikings and has some questions about Caleb Williams.
