Hello and welcome to a brand new episode of Nikoli's Kitchen, the penultimate episode of the first season! That's right, next week is the season finale, but before we get there, I was thrilled to be joined by someone who has changed my life and who, literally, has saved it. Heather- you may know her from Sunshine & Powercuts, or her bi-annual Sunshine Summit events- is here to talk about Just Heather's, which is a website/blog and a pair of podcasts that she's launching and a new journey that she is embarking on. I'm thrilled to have her for the second installment of Table for Two, where I sit down with my favorite creators and podcasters and talk about everything under the sun. Please make sure you subscribe to Heather's shows and follow her journey at https://justheathers.com/. This week on the show, Heather has brought a recipe for chocolate mini muffins that I decide to adapt into a flour-less recipe using coconut oil in place of dried coconut to create some coconut chocolate chunk muffins- although my chocolate all sank to the bottom! I actually made the recipe live on the air with Heather, so you'll get to hear my reactions to it as I made it. Thank you all so much for listening, and stay tuned next week for the finale of season one!   For the past four years I've been honored to host the Livestream for the Cure, a charity that raises money for the Cancer Research Institute and for cancer immunotherapy, which is training the body's immune system to fight cancer. Since then I, with my co-hosts on Epic Film Guys, have raised over $30,000 thanks to amazing podcast partners and content creators who give their time and money to be part of the event. This year's event is our fifth, and we're looking to add $15,000 to that total, our biggest single year goal to date. Please tune in May 19th - 23rd for 50+ hours of content from podcast partners and creators around the world. Learn more at livestreamforthecure.com. THE EXPLOSIVE FINALE IS HERE! Cher and Javier face faceless hordes of evil AI and electric scooters in a race to save their lives and (if there's time) the world. Will they escape to Cher's homeworld and leave us all in the hands of the Personeum Corporation? Will they stand and fight against the impossible odds? Will there be a Season 2? Some of these answer will be found here and two sentient beings' lives will NEVER BE THE SAME! Parasitecology is a darkly comic SF audiodrama about a suicidal nerd and his alien parasite best friend. If you enjoyed this series, please tell a friend. We love reviews but, honestly, we love it even more when people tell others about the show. This has meant a lot to us and hearing from people who have listened to it has made the (rather painstaking) work to get it in your ears worth it. Hearing them recommend it has been even better. Thank you, folks! He'd learned how in Vietnam. Infiltrate the enemy's position, determine the plan of action and then strike swiftly, taking out as many key men as possible, wreaking destruction, leaving chaos in your wake. Now he was in Los Angeles, engaged in a new, far more sinister war. But he was fully prepared and totally committed, and bound by no rules but his own. He is tall and slim, reflecting his unique Indian-Welsh background. His driver's license indicates his age is twenty-eight. If he seems a bit grim, it is for good reason. He was orphaned at four, when his parents and three brothers and sisters were killed in an automobile crash. Since then he's been mistreated, brutalized by life, injured in games (football), and wounded in combat. But he's survived. Mark Hardin is tough, a survivor. And an expert. Marksmanship, karate, aikido, and even the crossbow, are part of his arsenal. He is a new breed of warrior--without uniform, without rank--dedicated to the American way of life, and pledged to fight anyone who seeks to destroy it. On either side of the law. That's why he's in Los Angeles. Just the beginning of a long and lonely series of brushfire wars. -- Some relevant characters: Mark Hardin: 28 year-old Vietnam vet going through a mid-life crisis. Donna Morgan: a USC anthropologist who could tell your genetic ancestry just by looking. RIP. Professor Haskins: Owner of the Stronghold. Donna's uncle.  David Red Eagle: "Old West" medicine man, trains Mark to be stealthy. Don Pietro Scarelli: runs a mafia crime ring and takes a lot of phonecalls. Pretty angry at current events and the man behind them (the penetrator). His Lordship: A mysterious person on the other end of Don's speakerphone. Is not Bosley. Senator Martyn Corvus: On a committee against organized crime, headed to California to figure out what's going on with all this dang heroin. Officer Kelly Patterson: Not just a cop. An Irish cop. LIVE FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT HOUSES, IT'S INTERRUPTED TALES... UM, LIVE! Recorded as part of the 3rd Annual Livestream for the Cure in support of the Cancer Research Institute, we present our latest show. It'll sound a little different than usual, you'll hear a few other voices occasionally, but it was all for a good cause. In this episode we interrupt an actual story from the 21st Century, a sci-fi Tale ripped from tomorrow's headlines, "Printcrime" by author/activist/co-creator of Boing Boing, Cory Doctorow.  Special thanks to Cory Doctorow for permission to use his story and please check out any of his works, and his latest book Radicalized, on his site DRM-free.   Special thanks to the Epic Film Guys Podcast, creators and managers of the Livestream for the Cure. This year they raised over $16,000 simply by incredibly hard work. Sometimes that's all it takes. Plus several weeks without sleep. They have a great podcast and it's available anywhere you get podcasts now and follow them @epicfilmguys. And special thanks to you, the listener, for putting up with 63 episodes of this extremely fun to make nonsense!   A quick scheduling reminder: Our next episode will be in exactly two weeks. Happy Birthday To Us!  We're celebrating our 2 year anniversary and lots of our favourite podcasters have popped by to say hello! Mum, Stacey and Kipper are all together in Spain. IT means things are just a little crazier than usual.   Find out if Mum would prefer to squeeze spots full of cheese or slugs.  And would she want a tiny head or a giant one?  Depends what type of hat you want wear.   The first guests are Harlo and Colly of Theme Park Films Podcast, and they're joined by their Cabana Boy, Will, of Hey Down In Front Podcast. Next to say howdy is the lovely Chris from the More Gooder Than Podcast.  He has a message for Mum in Spanish, and he really has some nice things to say.  Mum gets a little distracted by his voice though. Dave and Sophie of the podcast, Not For The Dinner Table, have a Guess Who Isn't Coming To Dinner.  Can Mum guess who the dead person they're describing is?  What sort of bubble bath does that dead person use?  And why does David hate Will Young? Next to drive by are Lisa and Sam of I Shake My Head With Lisa and Sam.  They have questions for Kipper and Mum.  Why do cats eat grass?  Only Kipper has the answer. Flying in for a quick hello is Suzy of The Casual Birder Podcast.  But where is she calling from?  And how did she get that bird to sing so well for the recording? The guys from Interrupted Tales have found a photo of Kipper in space with Richard Nixon.  Who knew Kipper was a real astronaut?  Why has Mum joined Grindr? And what happens when Mum finds out Stacey has been working for Rob and Alan on Parasitecology without telling her? Look out for Part Two next week!   The Would You Rather questions were taken from the book by Clint Hammerstrike.  Find it here https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1549535730/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i9   If you want more content and bonus features, subscribe on Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/RoughGiraffe.  This week we have extra bits from this episode, as well as outtakes.   Jingles and music are by Stacey and Owen Frost.    Find us on Twitter on @RoughGiraffePod, Instagram @RoughGiraffePodcast, and Facebook (search for Rough Giraffe).  Email us at roughgiraffepodcast@gmail.com   Rough Giraffe is a co-founder and proud member of Brit Pod Scene.  This is a network and podcast highlighting independent British podcasts. www.britpodscene.com. Come join the discussion on Facebook.

It's gettin' hot, folks, at least in Interrupted Tales country. And what better way to cool off than to listen back on a bunch of podcast episodes from this winter and spring? Join Rob on a trip through the archives with clips from some of our most recent (and craziest) shows. There's sci-fi, romance, fables, crime, and Alan's touching story about an older man's quinceanera. We thought that particular off our very abnormal live show, it would be good to highlight some of what we've done in recent months. A great introduction for new readers! Plus we induct two new members into the IT Book Club. All it took was a review on iTunes/Apple Podcasts and, boom, they've ascended the ranks with all the perks privileges available to them. One is a very special review from our friends at the Rough Giraffe podcast. Please give them a listen in your pod app today, it's a funny show about a Brit and her mum and their search to learn more about everything around them. Follow us on on Twitter @taleinterrupted, Instagram at interruptedtales, and join the conversation on Facebook. Again, please take a moment and rate us on iTunes! Right over here.

Well, it finally happened. We had our first LIVE podcast recently as part of the Livestream for the Cure (you can still give at livestreamforthecure.com and tell them we sent you)! We raised over $300 for cancer research, which was matched and part of a tremendous event that raised over $10,000 in total donations!  To celebrate, we present to you, the listener, an episode captured from the livestream. If you've wanted to hear the chaos that interrupting a tale live combined with a challenge or curse for each donation made can create, well then, we've got the episode for you! This week's tale is from the August, 1922 issue of The Black Mask magazine and it's a tale of crime, someone really nervous about committing a crime, and middle management. Mostly, though, it's about making Rob and Alan do silly things to help us juice up our donations. Fair warning, the sound is a little off at times. We were using a different streaming tool than usual so some sentences come in late and we edited off a single input so some of the levels will be off. Alas, there was only so much we could do, but here it is, warts and all! But as my father never said, warts make the toad. So we have that going for us!  So join us for a little something different. Grab your favorite drink, curl up on your favorite office chair, and get ready for this week's very different, very live tale! Follow us on on Twitter @taleinterrupted, Instagram at interruptedtales, and join the conversation on Facebook. Again, please take a moment and rate us on iTunes! Right over here.

Folks, Episode 0 has arrived!  If you don't know what Interrupted Tales is all about - Interrupted Tales, the show where two friends take turns reading stories to you, the listen, while the other person constantly interrupts - dive in and give a listen to this carefully curated list of moments from the series.  If you think that "a carefully curated list of moments from the series" sounds a lot like a clip show, you can keep it to yourself, ok? Because this is some hand-selected farm-to-table artisanal level of clip selection.  But it's not just clips - no!  We also give you vital information about the show, like when it comes out (every week on Tuesday mornings) and provide some episode recommendations to fit your particular genre tastes.   If you like what you hear, go ahead and hit that subscribe button on your favorite podcast player so it arrives without you even having to get onto your sweet little tootsies.  Already a subscriber?  If you could be bothered to sit through a clip show then you're the type of listener we'd love to leave a review to help even more people learn about Interrupted Tales. Right over here. Want more Interrupted Tales?  We regularly post cool covers and visuals onto our on Instagram at interruptedtales.  You can also reach us on Twitter @taleinterrupted and join the conversation on Facebook.
