Today, I sit down to talk about if our faith is firm enough to weather trends and culture, and some ways to ensure that it is. Christianity is honestly trending right now. It's kinda popular. BUT Christians are called, in the Bible, to be prepared for push back and persecution. How can we be sure our faith isn't just trendy but is sure? Are we as Christian women spending time with Him? Are we remembering all He's done for us? Are we growing an actual relationship based on truth? Are we practicing taking up our cross? And then I have the CUTEST story to share about my kiddo that reminded me that the seeds I am sowing MATTER. Who really pays for import tariffs? Hint: It isn't the foreign country. In this episode, we unpack the hidden reality of trade barriers, dispelling the common myth that tariffs punish international exporters. We explore how these border taxes hit local importers, place a heavy financial strain on small businesses, and drive up domestic production costs. Plus, we discuss why high duties on raw materials backfire on local manufacturers and why a free, rules-based trade system is essential for real economic innovation.Read our blog https://mondoro.com/the-great-trade-illusion-why-tariffs-are-destroying-small-businesses-and-failing-the-global-economy/

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga. Why are stories spoken aloud? Why do we lean into the music of the spoken word? And why do we need to hear a woman's voice speaking her truth from her heart, her identity? Written text is processed intellectually by the brain but the spoken word resonates deeply. When we hear a woman's voice take a breath, pause, and speak from the heart, we feel it emotionally. The pauses, the unhurried rhythm, and the warmth of delivery invite listeners to feel like they are right in the moment of the story sitting side-by-side. For just a moment let's sit together. I've been reflecting on how we transform our lived personal experiences, the memories, the moments into story magic that captivates the listener with its universal meaning. Hint: It's the archeological dig. The archeological dig uncovering the treasure trove of our lived experiences is where we challenge ourselves to discover and make sense of what our story is really all about. Not just the quick, cheap, easy, and superficial answers but what flows like a river under the frozen ice. You and I know we aren't just talking about words on a page here. We're talking about how we hold our own lives. Most of the time we're taught to just report the facts. "Here's what I did today. Here's who I took care of. Here's my role." It's polite... it keeps the peace...it's empty and boring. We women of “middle earth age” can no longer deny the quiet, restless ache that shows up in the middle season of our lives. It's the emotional weight of a deeper question: Who am I... when no one is asking me to be anyone for them? When you finally stop and attend to that ache... that's where your real story begins. That is the moment of self-discovery and, more importantly, identity. You realize you aren't just a collection of jobs and titles; you are your own unique engagement with this world. And what about the thing you've actually come here to say? The wisdom you've earned? It doesn't need to be shouted out loud. It just needs to be true. It's the moment of self-definition... where you stop asking for permission to occupy your own life. It's looking at yourself in the mirror and realizing... my perspective matters. My voice does not need to be softened to be acceptable. When you lean into that... you aren't just letting life happen to you anymore. You are claiming your narrative. You are saying what you mean... and maybe for the very first time. That's what depth of inquiry means. It's having the courage to sit in the quiet... until the surface noise fades... and the truth of who you really are finally rises up. CTA: Today, don't just live the plot of your life. Lean into the rich, unfolding, joyful, wisdom of it. Say what you mean, mean what you say and let yourself be known - to yourself. You're invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, subscribe & spread this episode with a generous 5-star review & comment—it helps us all—& join us next time! AND! The SEC is mired in a national championship drought, but the conference still claims to have unmatched depth. That argument will gain steam after the release of the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll. Nine SEC teams are ranked in the Top 25, more than any other conference. That includes six teams in the top 11. So, were Big Ten coaches in the wrong last week when they took a victory lap at the SEC's expense during the Big Ten's media days? As one Big Ten coach put it, the SEC would like to pretend it's still 2005. Ouch! On today's episode, hosts Blake Toppmeyer and John Adams discuss the Big Ten's chest-thumping and explain why they're OK with it. They also react to the coaches poll and offer a few SEC teams that could be overrated and underrated. Toppmeyer says one Big Ten team in particular got snubbed in the rankings, and Adams reveals who he'd have ranked No. 1. (Hint: It's an SEC team.)

The discussion of the gid ha-nasheh leads into some lovely aggadic passages. First of all, did the sciatic nerve have to be in the right thigh to be prohibited at the Torah level or not? (Hint: It's a machloket). The Gemara breaks down the wrestling between Jacob and the angel from Genesis, to ensure that the injury would be in the right leg. But, again, not everyone thought that was necessary, and for that view, the sciatic nerve in each leg is equally prohibited. With further details about keeping a non-Jew, with whom one might be expected to spar, on the right side, and conversely, one must stay clear of the right side of the Torah scholar. Also, other midrashim/aggadot about Jacob -- how the stones became one larger stone to be his pillow, as it were (solving for a contradiction in the text). Plus, going back to that fight with the angel, and the ambiguities in that text. And the hint to exile and the leadership in both exile and the land of Israel.

Catch last month's episode with Callahan & Witscher's Jack Callahan, where we dig into the Fenix Flexin saga and the future of AI-assisted music, the recent hipster discourse, and more. You've probably heard the phrase “the marketplace of ideas”: the classical liberal belief that when ideas compete freely in the public square, the best ones will always rise to the top. But what does that “marketplace” look like in the media landscape of the 2020s, where ideas are distributed via personalized algorithmic feeds and the public sphere has fragmented into clusters of charismatic content creators with cult followings? That's the question that Doomscroll's Joshua Citarella and New Models' Carly Busta and Lil Internet tackle in “The Online Marketplace of Ideas,” an installation they put together for Strange Rules, a group show currently on display at the Palazzo Diedo at Berggruen Arts & Culture in Venice, curated by Mat Dryhurst, Holly Herdon, and Hans Ulrich Obrist, with Adriana Rispoli. Hint: It's a room packed with over 400 t-shirts, hats, books, and other “dropship basics” from the personalities that have dominated the discourse in the 2020s, ranging from Joe Rogan and Call Your Daddy to Chapo Trap House, “Abundists” Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson, Andreas Malm, Curvis Yarvin, Balaji Srinivasan, and Byung-Chul Han.We brought on Josh and Carly to walk us through the exhibition, what bringing together all these objects reveals about the larger economic and geopolitical shifts this apparent ideological diversity obscures, the increasingly blurred line between being a content creator and being a politician, and our transition from the age of linear media into a neo-oral one. Plus: a cameo appearance from New Models co-founder Lil Internet, discussing his theory that this wild profusion of internet ideologies has become America's primary cultural export.Strange Rules is on display at the Palazzo Diedo in Venice until November 22, 2026Subscribe to New Models on Substack or PatreonSubscribe to Doomscroll on Substack and YouTube This is a public episode. Three coaching calls in one week. Three different sellers. Same problem - they were all passing on ASINs because of what Keepa wasn't showing them. In this episode, Brian and Robin Joy unpack the blind spots hiding in plain sight on every Keepa chart: the "dead" listing that's actually just chronically out of stock, the buy box price that changes depending on which region you're standing in, and the sales that happen at prices Keepa never even logs. The old signals, rank drops, offer counts, the national buy box, trained an entire generation of resellers to read the chart one way. Amazon changed the building. Keepa is still one window. Ten years ago, Iroro Tanshi found something incredible in a cave in Nigeria: a colony of short-tailed roundleaf bats, a species that hadn't been seen there in almost 50 years. We learn how her discovery helped kickstart a conservation movement in West Africa to protect rare species of bats from threats like poaching and wildfires. Then, North America has lost billions of birds since 1970, but some species are actually bucking this concerning trend and returning to places where humans hadn't seen them in decades. Ornithologist Scott Weidensaul shares some global success stories of bird recovery. And, Mark Kurlansky has been fishing for as long as he can remember, and writing about it almost as long. He tells us about his essay collection on why people fish. Then Nate concludes with his theories about where season 3 could potentially go, if the series is renewed and gives his final thoughts on the season as a whole. Let's be honest — Most of us aren't actually moving forward. We're just running away from things that happened years ago, hoping that if we go fast enough, the past won't catch up. We've all heard the advice to "just let it go" or "give it to God," but if it were that easy, why are we still so exhausted? Why does that one mistake from a decade ago still have the power to ruin your Tuesday morning? In this episode of The Leader's Cut, Preston Morrison and Tim Ross are getting back into the gritty reality of what it actually takes to find your "Missing Peace." This isn't a conversation about surface-level "happiness"—it's a deep dive into the parts of your soul you've been trying to ignore. If you feel like you're just surviving your life instead of living it, it's time for a reality check. The Holy Spirit wants to do more than just comfort you; He wants to cut away the trauma that has been making your decisions for you. We're talking about the stuff nobody wants to talk about, including: * The Inner Critic's Real Identity: Who is that voice in your head that's constantly bothered by your mistakes? (Hint: It's not God, and it's not just "you.") * Emotional Indigestion: Why the things you refuse to process are currently defining your future. * The Biology of Peace: How to move the peace of Jesus from a "concept" in your head to a "regulation" in your actual nervous system. * Why You're Not "Here": The real reason you find it impossible to be present with the people you love. * The Trap of Self-Awareness: Why knowing you have a problem isn't the same thing as letting Him cut it out. You can keep running, or you can stop and finally metabolize what's been chasing you. It's time to stop letting start walking in the peace you were actually designed for. This is where true healing begins.

Ever wondered why some businesses seem to pull in the perfect clients with almost no effort, while others stay stuck, spinning their wheels? In today's episode, I'm sharing the three must-know insights about your ideal client that could be the missing ingredient in your business. If you've ever felt like your message isn't quite landing, or you're attracting clients that drain your energy instead of lighting you up, stay with me—this chat could be a game-changer. I've been where you are—juggling work, motherhood, and the dream of growing a business that allows you time and freedom. Over the years, I've seen a pattern: the most successful female entrepreneurs aren't just experts in what they do—they're utterly clear on exactly who they're here to help. In this episode, I'm unpacking the three powerful questions most people overlook, but which make all the difference when you want to really connect with your audience. Here's a taste of what I'll be asking—and why you'll want to tune in: Why is it so important to know what your dream clients themselves think their real problem is? (Hint: It's usually not what you think.) What do your clients truly want—beyond vague goals like “more clients” or “success”? I'll show you how to get specific and why that matters. How can you spot the difference between what your clients know they need help with, and the things they don't even realise yet? This is where your messaging really starts to connect. What simple tool have I used, and how can you quickly build a human, relatable client profile that makes writing content a breeze? If you're tired of guessing what to say, or you've tried all the posting and still feel invisible, this episode is for you. Let's make marketing feel simple (and effective) again. If you've ever run out of your best-selling products faster than you can restock them, wondered what ROI you should actually be targeting, or watched your buy box disappear and immediately reached for the repricer - this episode is for you. Brian and Robin unpack one of the most misunderstood realities in Amazon selling: three questions that look completely different on the surface are actually the same question wearing different masks. And the answer to all three is almost always the same word. Price. In this episode you'll learn: Why running out of stock is a pricing problem, not a sourcing problem What ROI floor you should be targeting, and why it connects directly to your velocity What actually causes a buy box to disappear (hint: it's not your price) Why panic pricing hands your profit directly to the seller who held their number How to read a suppressed buy box for what it actually is - a delivery signal, not a pricing signal Brian drops the line that ties it all together: "Price is the lever. It controls your velocity, your ROI, your exposure to panic, and whether you hold or fold when the buy box disappears." And they close with a Warren Buffett quote that hits differently when you're watching your repricer make decisions it doesn't have the information to make. This one is worth a second listen.
