Every once in a while, a set just comes together without effort and is so flawless that it makes you just want to scream HALLELUJAH! The Fall Edition 2021 is one such example. It appears that many top circuit DJs have been switching up their remixes and moving towards a more progressive big room sound not unlike several tracks you may have heard from the latest Ultimate 90's Classics [1998 - 1999] series. Hell, even Stewart Who? makes an appearance here. Is it anything new? No. Is it a refreshing change from the redundant big tribal beats that have permeated the scene for the past several years? A resounding YES! Granted, Dirty Disco has been at the forefront of the change for over a year now and it seems other DJs are just now following suit. Toy Armada has definitely dropped his big room uplifiting anthems in favor of a more progressive house style. There were three new works from him: one was with his longtime partner DJ Grind, another with Jace M (who he's worked with in the past) and a solo offering for Leanh. The last two are a good sampling of his mindset but the one with DJ Grind really missed the mark (and was subsequently dropped from this set). Party Favorz looks forward to where he's taking his music. Even Offer Nissim, who has always stood out from the pack with a very specific progressive sound often emulated by other big name Isralei DJs has switched things up by housing up his staple sound on his latest collaboration with Deborah Cox on the stellar "Summer of Love. Up and coming fellow Isralei DJ Michael Benayon really delivers on what is otherwise a mediocre song "Snow In the Sahara" by Bouvier & Barona featuring Akazi. The song itself sounds like a Eurovision cheesy euro-pop track that Dirty Disco and Wayne G capitalized on but we just weren't feeling it. Micahel Benyon flips the track with a deeper progressive groove that not only gives the song a deeper meaning but actual purpose. Speaking of Dirty Disco, the boys have updated the Celeda classic "The Underground" in a variety of flavors that is certain to light up dance floors across the globe. The original track was a former #1 Dance Club hit on Billboard, which was originally released on Peter Rauhofer's Star 69 label in the earlier part of the millennium. I fully expect you'll be hearing this tune in its various incarnations shortly — if you already aren't. We've got a stellar release schedule lined up for October with the annual HW21 dropping next week and it's lining up to be a surefire banger. Until then...ENJOY! This second edition of Essential Justin Bieber goes in a completely different direction than the previous one. Some of these tracks appeared on the first edition but I've used mostly different songs and the remixes are very much in the electro house/big room territory. Remixers such as Afrojack, DJ Laszlo, Paulo & Jackinsky, Roberto Ferrari and Thiago Antony did not come to play around and launch this set immediately from the opening track "All Around The World" to the closing track "Baby" which kick started Justin's career. The whole reason I did these 2 collections of Justin Bieber came about because a long time friend of mine Deb, kept asking me to do it. I said to her 'don't you think you're a little old to be a Justin Bieber fan?' She then politely told me to fuck off. It's also her (something, something) birthday today - 15th of September, so I decided to release this edition on her birthday. Just so she will stop harassing me :) Happy Birthday Deb. After a month of teasing you folks, it's finally here! Madonna's birthday celebration for 2k16 is chalk-full of bootleg fabulosity! I haven't created a full-on circuit set for her majesty since 2010 and based on the songs I was coming across, it became pretty clear that's where this set was heading. Just based on this site's stats, I know we've got a ton of circuit-lovers here and it's a given that Madonna reigns the Diva Hall of Fame. Just like peanut butter and chocolate, these are two great tastes that go together. This set relies heavily on bootlegs from Rebel Heart and M.D.N.A. but also pulls from her vast catalog going back to the 80's with bootlegs that are so well done, they could have been official. HenriqMoraes one-ups Matt Moss's take on Like a Virgin by delivering a bouncy tribal fun adaption of the original while VMC turns the best version EVER of What It Feels Like For a Girl (and there were some awesome remixes that accompanied that release). Even though it's a dub, Luke DB, Umberto Balzanelli & Michelle give us the best version of Hung Up that frankly never existed with the official mixes. Sorry, but those were always lacking and Leanh delivers the hands-down winner of all the bootlegs with a remake of my least favorite song from American Life, Nobody Knows. His progressively tribal version is just so fun, it's a wonder nobody ever thought of this treatment. VMC takes Bedtime Story and basically puts Victor Calderone's unreleased version on steroids ensuring a circuit-lover's wet dream. Ralphi Rosario delivers an 11+ minute progressively tribal opus to Erotica, while Thiago Anthony gives Frozen a 21st-century circuit makeover. I reached out to Barry Harris to see if he had anything new in the works but sadly he did not. When I told him his version of Deeper and Deeper + Vogue totally made the cut, he suggested Ghosttown. I tried to make it work, but his more house-up rendition (which I love) just sapped the energy out of the set so I went with DJ Paulo and Jackinsky instead. He's a super nice guy so I'm pretty certain he took it well. Finally, I close the set out with a mashup by Noface between Madonna and Me and My Toothbrush's Gold Member. This pretty much sets the stage for a fun Chic-esque disco re-work of the original that's guaranteed to put a smile on your face if you haven't heard it yet. Every year I try to outdo myself on these mixes and always fret as to what I'm going to come up with. While I've always been pleased with the end result, this year I can honestly say I am beyond stoked. From the artwork, track selection (yes, I had a lot to go through) to the actual mixing, this is one solid set that should set the dance floor on FIRE for your local Madonna birthday celebration.
