Max Muncy errored his way into losing a game, Albert Pujols made his major league pitching debut, Bryan Reynolds hit a stand-up inside the park homerun, and Adley Rutschman made his major league hitting triples debut. We thought the day would never come. We thought, 'No way will the league let this happen'. We were wrong. Joe Panik has retired. We hate to be the ones to have to bring you this news, but we felt that as the premier Joe Panik appreciating podcast that it was necessary. If this makes you no longer want to watch baseball, we understand. Just know that it's going to be ok, and despite this catastrophic loss to the MLB, we will in fact still return for your regularly scheduled podcast on Monday. We love you Joe.

Well, we kinda saw it coming but it still stings to see it, we are officially in a once-in-a-generation MLB lockout. But don't let the potentially bleak future get you down, instead, let your hosts Adam, Noah, and Brian, take you through the madness of free agency from right before the lockout. Mammoth contracts were signed, the biggest of witch being Max Scherzer securing himself $130 million dollars over 3 years, PLUS what he is still owed from the Nationals. Cory Seager gets his name added to the half a billion dollar list of names the Rangers have acquired and Javier Baez gets to attempt to bring some light to the future of Detroit baseball. Lot's to go over this week, but not a lot to go over in the near future, so unlike last time where we said it would be a two week gap between episodes and then it wasn't, this time, it's actually going to be a couple weeks. Maybe. No promises. There's always a chance we get some Joe Panik news and have to let you know, but otherwise, enjoy, and see ya in a couple weeks.
Was Joe Panik being traded the biggest news story of the week? No and it really isn't close, but my heart is broken that friend of the pod Joe Panik was traded to the Marlins. Enjoy the episode as we break down the All-Star teams and Standings!

After a tough series loss against the Seattle Mariners, Justin and Patrick break down what went wrong. Ryu and Matz were not good, Chatwood blew up again and the team left too many runners on base. The Blue Jays traded Joe Panik and a minor league pitcher to Miami for pitcher Adam Cimber and outfielder Corey Dickerson. The guys break down that trade and what it could mean for future moves. Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Marcus Semien, and Teoscar Hernandez will all be starting for the American League in the All-Star game in Denver after fans voted them in! Great job Jays fans! The guys did a dive into the prospect pool and highlight Austin Martin, Gabriel Moreno, Kevin Smith, Samad Taylor, Tanner Kirwer & more. A lot of exciting players are working their way up the system! We'll be back after the series with Tampa Bay which starts tonight with Alek Manoah on the bump for your Blue Jays.
Alex and Daniel discuss the Joe Panik trade and looming deadline decisions before recapping the previous week for the Marlins' minor league system.
The trade deadline is a month away and the Toronto Blue Jays got ahead of the market by sending Joe Panik to the Miami Marlins for reliever Adam Cimber and outfielder Corey Dickerson. All signs point to the Jays continuing to add as the month rolls on, and with how the offense is performing there's reason to believe in the team and why they'll be adding at the deadline. No more Tyler Chatwood in the eighth!!!A.J. Andrews is excited by the news of the Blue Jays' four-player deal with the Marlins and what it means for the team. First, she discusses outfielder Corey Dickerson returning to his AL East stomping grounds, and why Rowdy Tellez' struggles this season emboldened the Jays to take on the salary for this left-handed batter. Next, she gushes over Adam Cimber, the submariner righty joining the Jays' pen and where he will fit in with his aggressive ground-ball tactics. Finally she bids farewell to Joe Panik, prospect Andrew McInvale and the DFA'd Travis Bergen, and why they were chosen to depart.Follow the podcast on Twitter @LockedOnJays and follow the host @A_J_Andrews!Subscribe on Himalaya, Google Play, Spotify, the Audacy app and iTunes! Please help us donate to social justice causes at https://lockedonpodcasts.com/blacklivesmatter/Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. Could use a clearer head this week.Toronto is in the business of misery, and while A.J. Andrews isn't a conduit for the cries of Leafs fans, she does empathize a little bit how the Jays' recent road trip ended. She discusses Charlie Montoyo's decision to leave Tyler Chatwood in to do things Chicago fans know Tyler Chatwood does and why Montoyo still needs work on his field feel. Then she turns it around with praise for Marcus Semien's continued resurgence and for Rowdy Tellez and Joe Panik's performances in Cleveland, before taking a look ahead at the Miami series.Follow the podcast on Twitter @LockedOnJays and follow the host @A_J_Andrews!Subscribe on Himalaya, Google Play, Spotify, the Audacy app and iTunes! Please help us donate to social justice causes at https://lockedonpodcasts.com/blacklivesmatter/This episode is sponsored by Jays From the Couch, Built Bar, BetOnline AG, Rock Auto and the Locked On Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. What can you do? What can you bloody do?Following another game that the Blue Jays were out of by the third inning, A.J. Andrews tries to find the silver lining, but it's hard. She's happy for Joe Panik hitting a home run. There is not much else happy, especially not with Tanner Roark, who is pitching himself out of any possible playoff plans for Toronto. It seriously took longer to upload this podcast than it did to watch the game. The Blue Jays finally put away the Red Sox to claim the five-game series. There were aspects of the win that A.J. Andrews really liked, such as Rowdy Tellez and Lourdes Gurriel stepping up in Teoscar Hernández's absence, and Joe Panik continuing to stay hot. There were things she didn't like, such as Robbie Ray, and the bullpen still showing the strains of its workload. Welcome to Locked on MLB, your national podcast covering Major League Baseball on a daily basis. Locked on MLB is part of the Locked on Podcast Network and hosted by Tommy Stokke.Dodgers fans may want to skip to segment 2 because our first segment is on Kenley Jansen and his uncharacteristic beginning to the season. His velocity is down, his delivery is out of whack and the results aren't good. After giving up a home run last week to Joe Panik in a loss to the Giants, he blew a 3-run lead against the Arizona Diamondbacks with walks to Paul Goldschmidt and A.J. Pollock and a home run to Chris Owings. That's two home runs on the year allowed for Jansen, for those counting at home. The walks are concerning as is the velocity. What does this all mean for the Dodgers? Let's discuss. Segment No. 2 covers extra innings and whether or not the league needs to address it. The D-backs and Dodgers played 15 innings on Monday and were a walk-off Jeff Mathis hit away from seeing two position players take the mound to decide the game. Maybe the solution isn't starting a runner at second base, but there is a solution that makes some sense to try. Admittedly, most fans won't be receptive to this unoriginal idea. Segment 3 takes a look around the league at Tuesday's game action as Chris Archer looks to stop the Yankees (assuming they play), Kershaw Day is here and the Washington Nationals may never lose.
