LESSON 26My Attack Thoughts Are Attacking My Invulnerability. It is surely obvious that if you can be attacked you are not invulnerable. You see attack as a real threat. That is because you believe that you can really attack. And what would have effects through you must also have effects on you. It is this law that will ultimately save you, but you are misusing it now. You must therefore learn how it can be used for your own best interests, rather than against them.Because your attack thoughts will be projected, you will fear attack. And if you fear attack, you must believe that you are not invulnerable. Attack thoughts therefore make you vulnerable in your own mind, which is where the attack thoughts are. Attack thoughts and invulnerability cannot be accepted together. They contradict each other. The idea for today introduces the thought that you always attack yourself first. If attack thoughts must entail the belief that you are vulnerable, their effect is to weaken you in your own eyes. Thus they have attacked your perception of yourself. And because you believe in them, you can no longer believe in yourself. A false image of yourself has come to take the place of what you are.Practice with today's idea will help you to understand that vulnerability or invulnerability is the result of your own thoughts. Nothing except your thoughts can attack you. Nothing except your thoughts can make you think you are vulnerable. And nothing except your thoughts can prove to you this is not so.Six practice periods are required in applying today's idea. A full two minutes should be attempted for each of them, although the time may be reduced to a minute if the discomfort is too great. Do not reduce it further. The practice period should begin with repeating the idea for today, then closing your eyes and reviewing the unresolved questions whose outcomes are causing you concern. The concern may take the form of depression, worry, anger, a sense of imposition, fear, foreboding or preoccupation. Any problem as yet unsettled that tends to recur in your thoughts during the day is a suitable subject. You will not be able to use very many for any one practice period, because a longer time than usual should be spent with each one. Today's idea should be applied as follows:First, name the situation:I am concerned about _______.Then go over every possible outcome that has occurred to you in that connection and which has caused you concern, referring to each one quite specifically, saying:I am afraid _______will happen. If you are doing the exercises properly, you should have some five or six distressing possibilities available for each situation you use, and quite possibly more. It is much more helpful to cover a few situations thoroughly than to touch on a larger number. As the list of anticipated outcomes for each situation continues, you will probably find some of them, especially those that occur to you toward the end, less acceptable to you. Try, however, to treat them all alike to whatever extent you can. After you have named each outcome of which you are afraid, tell yourself:That thought is an attack upon myself.Conclude each practice period by repeating today's idea to yourself once more.- Jesus Christ in ACIM
Church! We will miss you all this weekend. Please know that our desire is always to gather in person with the saints on the Lord's Day. Discuss or reflect on these prompts:Give thanks to God for this day of rest.Make a list of all the different things that contribute to wound-up-ness in your life. How can you cultivate practices of “pause”?Conclude with a time of prayer for you/your family, our church, and our region. Pray the Lord's Prayer and sing the Doxology.May the peace of God guard you, now and always, in Christ Jesus!- Pastor Ryan
LESSON 18I Am Not Alone In Experiencing The Effects Of My Seeing. The idea for today is another step in learning that the thoughts which give rise to what you see are never neutral or unimportant. It also emphasizes the idea that minds are joined, which will be given increasing stress later on.Today's idea does not refer to what you see as much as to how you see it. Therefore, the exercises for today emphasize this aspect of your perception. The three or four practice periods which are recommended should be done as follows:Look about you, selecting subjects for the application of the idea for today as randomly as possible, and keeping your eyes on each one long enough to say:I am not alone in experiencing the effects of how I see _______.Conclude each practice period by repeating the more general statement:I am not alone in experiencing the effects of my seeing.A minute or so, or even less, will be sufficient for each practice period.- Jesus Christ in ACIM

Conclude your week with the Weekly Anchor, a soothing, gentle practice designed not to judge, but to notice and celebrate. This session guides you to compassionately review the last seven days, using the lens of Stoic awareness and loving-kindness. We will practice glancing back to identify the moments when you successfully applied the techniques to notice what worked well for you and what you could do differently. I Congratulations on completing another series! I honor you for taking part in this week's series! ALL ABOUT THIS WEEK'S SERIES Welcome to "The Path to Happiness with the Stoics." Welcome to a new journey on the Daily Meditation Podcast. This week, we are walking The Path to Happiness with the Stoics. When we think of "Stoicism," we often imagine a stiff upper lip or the suppression of emotion. But the ancient Stoics—thinkers like Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and Epictetus—were actually in pursuit of profound joy. They didn't seek the fleeting happiness of a sugar rush or a new purchase; they sought Eudaimonia (flourishing) and Ataraxia (unshakable tranquility). This is day 7 of a 7-day meditation series, "The Path to Happiness with the Stoics," episodes 1164-1170. Prepare to shift your perspective. Happiness is not something you chase; it is something you practice. YOUR WEEKLY CHALLENGE: "The Control Test" This week, your challenge is to apply the "Control Test" to every moment of friction or anxiety you encounter. Whenever you feel stress rising, pause immediately and ask yourself: "Is this 100% within my control?" If the answer is no, practice visualizing yourself physically dropping the weight of that outcome, redirecting your energy solely toward your own attitude and response. PREVIEW Gerald R. Ford Super Carrier Deployment to the Caribbean Atlantic. Rebecca Grant of the Lexington Institute discusses the Gerald R. Ford super carrier's rapid transit to the Caribbean Atlantic off Venezuela. The carrier had recently concluded exercises with NATO in the Baltics, including tracking the Russian shadow fleet. Grant notes that the transit took about a week for the Ford to join Southern Command. The segment highlights that aircraft carriers are constantly needed at global "hot spots," reinforcing the argument that more of these ships should be built. The local authority has confirmed the construction phase of the Ennis Public Realm Works will conclude at the end of next month. From November 26th, traffic will return to all roads apart from O'Connell Street, which will stay pedestrianised until at least February of 2026. A survey running from December 8th until January 4th will allow the public to have their say on access, traffic flow and pedestrianisation for O'Connell Street. Senior Executive Engineer with Ennis Municipal District, Paddy Tiernan, says public input is vital in the future of the town.

The Vine continues in our series TAKE HEART by considering a story from Matthew 14:22-33. In this passage, we discover how our Savior invites us to walk upon the chaos of life while we take heart. www.thevineaustin.org REFLECTION QUESTION: 1. If you were to survey your thoughts, feelings or emotions, what are you bringing with you as you enter this gathering? 2. Recount what took place before Jesus walked on water in the beginning of chapter 14. What do you think Jesus was carrying in him before that moment? 3. Read Matt 14:22-27. What do you notice taking place? 4. Read verses 28-33. Why do you think Peter wanted to walk on water? What significance do you find in his sinking? 5. What do you make of Jesus' words verse 31? 6. What has stayed with you from the sermon- either confusing, curious or encouraging? 7. This sermon touches on the power of fear. Where does fear exist in your life today? 8. What would it mean to keep your attention upon Jesus in that place of fear? Conclude by spending time in prayer, asking for God to help us take heart in the chaos in our world and lives.
After hitting 10 stops over three months, Alberta's travelling roadshow of participative democracy is wrapping up. Telus just turned a Québec fishing hub into one of Canada's AI hotspots.
As we continue in our series where we consider the occurrences of the phrase TAKE HEART, we look to a story in Matthew 9. This passage and the example from a woman's courageous act of faith can teach us how to take heart in the midst of suffering. www.thevineaustin.org Matthew 9:18-26 REFLECTION QUESTIONS: 1. Have you seen a celebrity in the wild? Did you talk to them? 2. Recount this woman's life. When you imagine carrying this affliction for 12 years, what comes to your mind? What would have been hard for you? 3. Why was this woman's act such a risk of faith? 4. Why do you think Jesus made a scene when this healing took place? 5. What has stayed with you from the sermon- either confusing, curious or encouraging? 6. In the sermon, Mark shared that Jesus' cross should form our view of suffering. What healing do you find in Jesus' choice to endure the cross? 7. What suffering are you carrying today? Conclude by spending time in prayer, asking for God to help us take heart in the suffering in our world and lives.

Mark continues our series TAKE HEART by exploring how Psalm 27. This psalm shares surprising instructions on how to take heart in a time of great conflict. www.thevineaustin.org REFLECTION QUESTIONS: 1. What is one of your favorite kids' books? Why do you like it? 2. Mark shared three surprising responses in conflict that we find in Psalm 27. The first was to honor your emotions. Read Psalm 27. What emotions do you find in this psalm? What emotions have been in you recently? What barrier (if any) has there been for you to take those emotions to God? 3. The second response was to set your gaze on the right thing. Read verses 4-5. What does it mean in the modern life “to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple?” 4. The third response is to wait for the Lord. What does it mean to “wait for the Lord,” and what is produced in us if we can “wait for the Lord.” 5. What has stayed with you from the sermon- either as encouraging, confusing, or curious? 6. What is the conflict that is apparent in your life (whether globally, interpersonally, or within)? Conclude by spending time in prayer, asking for God to help us take heart in the conflicts in our world and lives.
In this second week of our series TAKE HEART, Fabs shares from 1 Chronicles 28. In this moment, Solomon calls the people together so that they can live out their dreams and gifting to build something great with one another. www.thevineaustin.org REFLECTION QUESTION 1. What did you want to be when you grew up as a kid? Do you hear anything in your response that gives you clues about who you are at your core? 2. When you read 1 Chronicles 28:20 - what stands out? 3. When you look around the world today, where do you see God's presence? Where do you feel afraid or discouraged? 4. What has stayed with you from the sermon - either as encouraging, confusing or curious? 5. As we see the giftedness of Solomon in this passage, what comes up for you when you consider the notion that you have been given a spiritual gift to help you? Can you identify what that gift or unique abilities might be? 6. What gets in the way of you dreaming with God? What narratives or fears? 7. Do you currently have an area of your life or this world where God might be inviting you to dream and participate in God's restoring presence? What might it look like to carry - through your giftings and design - God's presence into that area? OR Does someone else or some organization have a dream that you might want to step into with your gifting and design? Conclude by spending time in prayer with one another, asking God to stir your hearts to dream of ways to carry God's presence into this world.

Daily Boost Podcast Show Notes 9-Question System That Changes Everything August 26, 2025 | Episode 5167 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description Scott's fired up about a tool that most people won't actually use, but those who do will experience a complete awakening. Meet the daily awareness diary - not your typical journal, but a powerful 9-question system that reveals patterns you never knew existed. In just 9 minutes each morning, you'll gain crystal-clear awareness of what's really happening in your life. Fair warning: you might discover some things that'll make you say, "Man, why do I keep doing that?" But that's exactly where the magic begins. Featured Story Scott introduces his cornerstone coaching tool - the daily awareness diary that every single client starts with. Within just a couple of weeks, everything becomes clear. This isn't about checking items off a list; it's about creating what you actually want. From retrospection to personal affirmations, each question builds on the last, creating a powerful awareness stack that reveals both your blind spots and your untapped potential. The result? You'll start spotting patterns that demand change, and you can't stare truth in the face without taking action. Important Points The daily awareness diary consists of nine specific questions designed to create awareness, not overwhelm you with homework - just capture the moment in 30-60 seconds per question. The system combines retrospection (how did yesterday go?) with prospection (what do I want to create today?) to help you recognize patterns and make intentional changes. Pre-planned responses eliminate surprises by thinking through potential interactions in advance, giving you control over your day and removing the element of being caught off guard. Memorable Quotes "You can't become aware of stuff you want to change in your life and keep looking at it, staring it straight in the face and not change it." "You are a human, which means you are unique. You can prospectively create things every single day." "After about 30 days of doing this, people look back and go, 'Wow, look, I have 30 affirmations personally written by me for me.'" Scott's Three-Step Approach Start each morning with retrospection by asking, "How did yesterday go?" - focus on whether you created what you wanted rather than just checking off tasks. Move into prospection by asking, "What do I want to create today?" - remember, you're uniquely human and can literally create experiences, relationships, or feelings. Conclude with a personal affirmation that captures everything from your nine questions, creating a powerful daily reminder of your progress and potential. Most people wait for burnout, conflict, or disaster before ending something that's no longer in alignment. We've both done that in the past, pushing forward because things were “still going well,” even when a quiet inner voice was saying it was time to move on. But sometimes, the most life-giving move is to complete a chapter while there's still joy, ease, and connection in it. In this special final episode, we pull back the curtain on our decision to end the podcast, while it's still thriving. We explore why completion can be the most creative act of all. For us, it's been about endings without drama, the art of listening to our “inner advisor,” and the unexpected magic that unfolds when you step into the unknown with clarity and curiosity. We reflect on more than two years of deep, unfiltered dialogue, the guests who bared their hearts, and the body of work we've created together. We discuss how this podcast has captured many of our most important conversations, and why it now feels like a beautiful exhale, making space for what's next. Things You'll Learn In This Episode -Why we end things while they're still thriving What does it take to step away from something good, without fear, doubt, or regret—and trust that it's time to move on? -How to listen to your “inner advisor” What's the difference between a passing whim and the deep clarity that tells you to take a new path? -The power of letting go before burnout Why stopping while you're energized can be the most generous, creative choice you make. -Stepping into the unknown with wonder How clarity, curiosity, and trust can make the next chapter even more vibrant than the last. The number of international human rights organizations, genocide scholars, public officials, and UN representatives making this assertion continues to grow. Now, two well-respected Israeli human rights groups have released reports concluding that Israel is committing genocide. One is B'Tselem, the Israeli Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories. The other, Physicians for Human Rights Israel, issued a report titled "Destruction of Conditions of Life: A Health Analysis of the Gaza Genocide," which focuses on the dismantling of Gaza's healthcare and other life-sustaining systems. Aseel Aburass, Director of the Occupied Territories Department at Physicians for Human Rights Israel, discussed the findings that led to the report's genocide determination.
