In the first hour of Wednesday's show, the guys recap their Tuesday nights in a relatively boring night in Baltimore.  The guys then get into one of the big topics of the week: who is to blame for the Ravens 4th quarter collapse?  Ravens DC Mike MacDonald is getting the lionshare of the blame both locally and nationally, but is it warranted?  The hour then closes out with a recap of the O's loss to the Detroit Tigers.  While it was another terrible outcome against a bad team, Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman both showed, once again, why they're the future of this team.  Are they the best rookie tandem the O's have ever had?

Kyle Stowers and Terrin Vavra could be important pieces for the Baltimore Orioles in 2023, and they'll only get better if they play more often in 2022. Host Connor Newcomb breaks down the Orioles current lineup options and makes the case that Vavra and Stowers should be in there alongside Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson almost every day. Then, Connor chats about the Bowie Baysox narrowly missing the playoffs while the Aberdeen Ironbirds advanced to the South Atlantic League Championship series. But first, Connor recaps the Orioles 11-0 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Monday night and gives you the five things to know from the game, including a look at just how embarrassing that loss was, the Orioles offense falling flat again, and Ryan McKenna pitching. Host Connor Newcomb recaps the series and gives you his three big takeaways from the weekend: 1) Sunday's comeback win showed that the Orioles still have some life 2) The rookie class of Adley Rutschman, Gunnar Henderson, Terrin Vavra, and Kyle Stowers stole the show 3) The rest of the Orioles lineup needs to figure out how to hit with runners in scoring position Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! 9-1-2022 Passed Ball Show. John comes back from his brief hiatus to stick up for one of the best managers in the history of Major League Baseball, Tony LaRussa. While woke baseball fans want to run him out of town, John speaks out about why he will always support the White Sox manager. John then questions whether Albert Pujols will return to MLB next season, in spite of his decision to call it quits after the 2022 baseball season. Would he retire if he hit 699 home runs? 698? 697? John then spends a little time talking about the Baltimore Orioles and how their organizational talent has impact their parent club. He declares the turning point to their season when they brought up Adley Rutschman, comparing his arrival to that of Tom Seaver to the Mets in 1967. He then declares that the change in culture (from losing to winning) of the Mets was when they signed Starling Marte for similar reasons to Rutschman, and of course to a much greater extent, Seaver. John finishes off this version of the program by talking about Aaron Judge and his quest for 60 home runs and whether the Yankees have the balls to play hardball when it comes to negotiate his next contract.

Kansas City Royals SS Bobby Witt has lit up the basepath and scoreboard when he came up on Opening Day, but his glove is lagging a bit behind. Centerfielder Michael Harris of the Atlanta Braves is the latest Brave to sign a long-term extension, ensuring his premium defense and precocious bat are in Atlanta for at least eight more years. SS Jeremy Pena has helped the Houston Astros cover for the loss of Carlos Correa in free agency, even if his bat has cooled off recently. 2B Nolan Gorman has provided some extra pop for the St. Louis Cardinals, even if they have to hide him defensively. Starting pitcher George Kirby of the Seattle Mariners has partnered with Rodriguez to keep the Mariners in Wild Card contention, hoping to break one of the longest playoff droughts in the majors. Christopher Morel has played some of everything for the Chicago Cubs, as has Brendan Donovan for the Cardinals, while Steven Kwan has manned left field all season for the Cleveland Guardians and was the pleasant surprise of April and May.  Find and follow LockedOn MLB Prospects on your favorite podcast platforms: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/locked-on-mlb-prospects/id1525225214 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2wzJIf26tGgVbB7rsoKyLD Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/show/locked-on-mlb-prospects Follow along with LockedOn MLB Prospects host Lindsay Crosby as we follow 120+ affiliated teams throughout the 2022 season! It may not feel like it following a series loss in Tampa and dropping three of four overall, but the Orioles are playing some good baseball in the month of August. They even hopped into a playoff spot and third place in the AL East momentarily.Being in this position one year ago seemed unimaginable, even with the impending promotions of prospects, including Adley Rutschman. This team is unrecognizable from the 2021 squad in the best possible way.Things do get harder from here. There are whole lot of games left against the Blue Jays and a couple of series with the Astros. It’s an uphill climb, but there remains something special about this team. So I won’t count againt them until they prove differently. In this episode, the guys talk about that level of play, Jorge Mateo’s bat, Anthony Santander’s power, Félix Bautista’s warm-up music, and D.L. Baseball Is Dead

It's Thursday all day baby! We're taking a look at some of the MLB matchups this weekend and boy are there some juicy ones. A Cardinals prospect hit for the home run cycle this week which seemingly has only happened one other time in the history of the universe. This leads to discussion on what be our personal home run cycles in our daily lives. Manny Machado was asked how he felt about the Padres being swept by the Dodgers and responded, "I'm Manny fucking Machado." We're diving into this quote and trying to figure out what the hell he was talking about. Don Orsillo had a sweet walk-off call, the Mariners announcers had an even better one, but the Korean announcers blew both out of the water. A little leaguer was hit in the head with a pitch and then went out to the mound to console the pitcher who was visibly upset. Jared thinks it never would have happened without cameras being present. Dallas tell an insane story about he and his teammates jumping an umpire in a tournament. Michael Kay went IN on Joey Gallo calling him one of the worst Yankees of all-time. Jared and Dallas think he was speaking facts but Joey comes to Gallo's defense. The Baltimore Orioles are currently holding a playoff spot and we talk about whether they'll actually make the playoffs. Their closer Felix Bautista has one of the cooler intro songs among closers, and we talk about how we need more of that in the game today. Joey also wants Adley Rutschman in the ROY conversation. Chris Sale apparently fell off is bike and we're talking about whether we believe that story or think it's bullshit. Enjoy!
