What a story this is! Born into an intensely homophobic and misogynist cult, Joey Green comes to the realization that she is a lesbian – and to make a bad situation worse, her father is an outspoken anti-gay activist. Joey was on episode 93 as anonymous and came back as herself to fill in many parts of her story she wasn't able to fill in before. One of those stories along with many others is alcohol in water bottles at school! Growing up in the isolationist Plymouth Brethren Christian Church cult, where women are treated as inferiors and homosexuality is actively hated, a young girl overcomes all these barriers to become the happy and confident non-binary personality that we see and hear on this podcast – a sparkling witness to the transformation that takes place when a person breaks free and can live their true identity. We then take a look at Myles and Lee Admiraal, prominent and extremely wealthy PBCC business owners who have a dark history of homophobic hatred and harassment, leading to a damning court case in Montreal. This revealing court case really shows how these children take the leaders hatred and then act them out in society. Ben discusses a horrifying field trip that also ended in physical hatred towards the LGBTQ community. To finish off, we have Bruce Thompson' performing his latest song “Top of the Tree” a reflection on the wealth and power of the Exclusive Brethren's “Man of God”. Bruce's music is really resonating and bringing solace to many ex-members. All links to articles, court cases and Bruce's music in the description below. Authors on the Air Host Pam Stack welcomes forensic scientest and author (and SW Florida resident) Lisa Black to the studio. About Lisa: Lisa Black has spent over twenty years in forensic science, first at the coroner’s office in Cleveland Ohio and now as a certified latent print examiner and CSI at a Florida police dept. She is the author of two popular crime thriller series, Theresa MacLean and Gardiner & Renner which have been translated into six languages. She also writes books under her real name Elizabeth Becka. About the book: Forensics expert Maggie Gardiner and Cleveland detective Jack Renner investigate the bizarre murder of a senator with secrets to hide. Three days before a key election, U.S. Senator Diane Cragin is electrocuted on her own doorstep—a shocking twist in an already brutal political race. Cragin’s chief of staff is quick to blame rival Joey Green, a city development director who’s had his hand in every till in town for over twenty years. Maggie and Jack have their own theories, especially after discovering a fortune in cash in the senator’s safe. But as they follow the money through the treacherous landscape of Cleveland politics, they find many more millions in play—and more suspects.. Now a Herald reporter is perilously close to discovering the truth about Jack’s penchant for acting as both detective and executioner. With each passing hour, the stresses of the impending election expose new fractures and corruption at the city’s highest levels. And as one murder leads to another, and another, Maggie and Jack’s only hope of stopping a killer is an alliance that’s growing ever more fragile. @copyrighted Listen to the podcast at Soundcloud.com/authorsontheair or your favorite podcast app

I’m Comin’ On To You (words & music: Joey Green-2017) This is a song about desire-------not love. https://open.spotify.com/album/1XSg5m45HQFdbD1OEtuCuK You caught my eye last Friday night. The dress you was wearin’--sure was tight. And when I gazed into your eyes--- I saw a ragin’ sea. I won’t tell you no big fat lies. I won’t promise you paradise. I just wanna get lost—in your eyes. I’m comin’ on to you. I’m comin’ on to you. It’s in the way you move. It’s in the way you groove. I’m comin’ on to you. You’ll never know how you make me feel. I don’t know what’s fake or real. And I’m screaming for you to please, Rescue me. Now, I won’t tell you no big fat lies And I won’t promise you paradise. I just wanna get lost—in those eyes. I’m comin’ on to you. I’m comin’ on to you. It’s in the way you move, It’s in the way you groove. I’m comin’ on to you. I’m comin’ on to you. I’m comin’ on to you. It’s in the way you walk. It’s in the way you talk. I’m comin’ on to you. Instrumental I been dreamin’ what I might do, If I could get you—all alone. We’d could play a game that I call, “cherry pie”. But, I won’t tell you no big fat lies. I won’t promise you paradise. I just wanna get lost—in your eyes. I’m comin’ on to you. I’m comin on to you. It’s in the way you move, It’s in the way you groove. I’m comin’ on to you. I’m comin’ on to you. I’m comin’ on to you. It’s in the way you walk. It’s in the way you talk. I’m comin’ on to you. Yeah, I’m comin’ on to you. I’m comin on to you. It’s in the the way you live. It’s in the love you give. I’m comin’ on to you.

Time And The River is a collection of poems written by Joey Green in 1996-97 and later set to music. An eloquent, mystical acoustic/rock musical presentation of poems written Time And The River is an eloquent, mystical, acoustic/rock musical presentation of poems written on the banks of the Hudson River by Joey Green in 1998-1999. By watching the river through all four seasons Joey learned a lot about that "river". He wrote these "poems" and feelings down and not long after put them to music with an old 6-string guitar. This release is an introspective look at nature, self, the world around us and what hides just beneath the surface. It is playful, mystical, dreamy, intense and at times enigmatic in that the listener may not always be able to "grab" what the author is attempting to put across. Brilliantly produced by Christian Cassan at his "Secret Garden Studios" in Brooklyn, NY. It features many talented artists including Justin "JJ" Jordan, Gerry O'Sullivan , Christian Cassan, Alred Buonanno, Roberto Cassan, Ron Haney, John Surich, Johnny Walker and Katja Heuzeroth.
