Virtual reality has long been hailed as the next big thing in tech. It's pure escapism; strap on a headset and immerse yourself in a different world. At least, it would be easy to truly immerse yourself if the headsets were comfier to wear, less awkward to use, and a little more cool-looking. As unwieldy as the headsets are, the technology inside them is actually getting pretty good. The latest headset to make news is Sony's PlayStation VR2. It's the first update to the PSVR in six years, and Sony gave us a preview of the device as it nears an official release next year. We are also expecting to hear details soon about Meta's newly beefed Oculus headset meant to better hook you into the company's weird metaverse. This week on Gadget Lab, WIRED staff writer Boone Ashworth joins us to talk about his experience trying the PSVR2, what's next for Meta and Oculus, and whether if you die in VR that means you die in real life. Show Notes Read Boone's impressions of the day he spent trying out PSVR2. Read Lauren on the recent Oculus price hike. Read all of our virtual reality coverage. Recommendations Boone recommends Paradise by Lizzy Johnson. Mike recommends the game Johann Sebastian Joust. Lauren recommends breakfast salads for some reason. Boone Ashworth can be found on Twitter @BooneAshworth. Lauren Goode is @LaurenGoode. Michael Calore is @snackfight. Bling the main hotline at @GadgetLab. The show is produced by Boone Ashworth. Sommaire : • L'édito d'Antoine • 1e partie : Hors de l'industrialisation • 2e partie : Casser l'immersion • 3e partie : Playformance • La tentative : rubrique surprise --- Générique musical : Kyoka – Ufunfu, 2008 Onpa))))). We will return to our regularly scheduled broadcasts in the new year, but we know that you love content, so Matt recorded a special edition podcast to enrich your holiday season. Listen to learn why Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Johann Sebastian Joust, Towerfall, Cuphead, The World is Not Enough, Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Hitman, Resident Evil 4, and GOD HAND can make your season bright. Our podcast about broken games: Episode 0.9
In episode 12, I talk about the fun of sticking things up your butt! Safely, of course. This includes anal sex, anal play, rimming, pegging, and some really terrible metaphors including something about a baby deer and one about an oil warning light. I also chat about some new-to-me games, like Castle Crashers, Fez, and Johann Sebastian Joust.
I said hey! What's goin on? For us, we've been playing some games. Jeremy gets stabby with Ronin (not the movie) and beats his friends up over Johann Sebastian Joust, LeGrande tries to wrap his head around the weird camera control in Homeworld Remastered while Dale tries to figure out what the Witness is all about. All that AND MORE as always. Intro: "Breach of Security" - Payday: The Heist, by Simon Viklund. Outro: "Brandenburg Concerto No.6 Movement 3" - Johann Sebastian Joust, by JS Bach (8-bit arrangement by Clark Nichols)

Nations’ petty disputes are now settled with the World’s Game, Gunsport.” * Chambara, “a local multiplayer stealth-deathmatch game with only two colors, allowing players to seamlessly camouflage themselves with the environment.” * Yojimbrawl, “a fighting game with very fluid fighting mechanics made by Evan Greenwood (Programming), Dawid Strauss (Art) and Deon van Heerden (Music/SFX).” * Fotonica, “a first-person game about the thrill of speed and traveling flawlessly through complex environments.” * Particle Mace, “a 1-4 player game for Windows/Mac/iOS by Andy Wallace about defending yourself in a hostile universe by swinging particles into enemies.” * Johann Sebastian Joust, “a no-graphics, digitally-enabled playground game for 2 to 7 players designed for motion controllers.” * Elbow Room by Deep Dark Hole, “a game about personal space, perpetual motion, and hitting a single key better than anyone else.” * Cody also discusses the 18 and up “adult games” area at BitBash, including some incredibly lewd but incredibly humorous games * If you’re a video game developer and want to talk to Cody on the podcast, then email him and Jon at unqualifiedpodcast@gmail.com!
