I visited a new pinball arcade in Atlanta, and noticing a new trend in "Eatertainment" venues to bring back Third Spaces to society. Retailers are starting to drop physical releases, which means that game preservation is going to become much more difficult as time goes on for modern day titles. Spec Ops: The Line is an impactful military shooter that wasn't a commercial success, but now you can't buy it anymore as it has been delisted on all the digital storefronts. (Since it has a physical release, you can still buy a copy used, though!) Then we take some time to talk about Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Persona 3 Reload, since OLR was not happening due to a power outage.

Despite some comments by Xbox CFO Tim Stuart about the hope that Game Pass would end up on all screens, including those of the PlayStation and Nintendo - Phil Spencer has clarified, or maybe doubled back a bit by stating that there are currently no plans to get Game Pass onto PlayStation and Nintendo. According to some Christmas lists, the demand for physical games have dropped below subscriptions and virtual currency. This comes as little surprise, considering the value that game subscriptions like Game Pass bring to the table. Coupled with the popularity of games like Fortnite that use virtual currency to purchase in-game items. After having members of the public disrupt both The Game Awards 2022 and Summer Game Fest 2023, Geoff Keighly has confirmed that the security for The Game Awards 2023 has been enhanced. He did not elaborate much, understandably, as revealing security measures would open the door for them to be circumvented. Fingers crossed these security enhancements keep the show running smoothly this year.

EA will be shutting down online services for several games later this year, including Crysis 3, Dante's Inferno, and Dead Space 2. This means that the multiplayer modes for these games will no longer be playable. Crysis 3 will be the first to be affected, with its servers shutting down on September 7th. The remastered version of the game, which does not include multiplayer, will not be affected. Dante's Inferno and Dead Space 2 will follow on December 8th. This will also affect the online co-op mode for Dante's Inferno and the Outbreak mode for Dead Space 2.This is not the first time that EA has shut down online services for older games. In recent years, the company has also discontinued online support for games such as Battlefield 3, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, and Need for Speed: The Run.The reason for these shutdowns is likely due to the cost of maintaining online servers for older games. As games get older, the number of players who are still playing them decreases, which makes it less financially viable for publishers to keep the servers running. #gaming #Collection #Collectors
