Rich Dad Radio Show: In-Your-Face Advice on Investing, Personal Finance, & Starting a Business

Most Americans still think our government will protect them. The world is changing at an alarming rate, yet most people here waddle stubbornly through the crosswalk, so to speak, still believing that this country has the right of way and holding tight to their 401(k)s. Today's guests make the case for ditching paper assets and putting your money in assets the government can't print. If you think investing for the long term is a sure thing, you may want to listen carefully to this week's show. John MacGregor, author of the book “The Top 10 Reasons the Rich Go Broke” says, “Most people have a buy and hope strategy. Hope is not a retirement strategy.” Mike Mauceli, says, “Most people who have made a lot of money over their career want to put their money where they can generate cash flow and not pay taxes, legally.” There are many benefits to investing in commodities like gas and oil, other than the cash flow. As today's guest explains,  You get to deduct 15 percent of the well's gross income each year. This is called depletion. It's like depreciation, only you get it every year, even after you have deducted all of the IDC and the depreciation. Robert Kiyosaki and guests John MacGregor and Mike Mauceli discuss why you should get out of the rat race and into the fast track, now.

One of the most critical demographic patterns in American history is the increase in the population above the age of 65. Today's guest explains how 10,000 baby boomers turn 65 every day, and seven out of ten will require long-term care. John MacGregor, author of “The Top 10 Reasons the Rich Go Broke” says, “Over the many years of working with thousands of families, this topic of long-term health care has been one of the most financial threats to families.” Host Robert Kiyosaki and guest John MacGregor discuss the number one cause for bankruptcy and how you and your family can prepare against it. The retirement preparation storm has been brewing for decades. For years, the media has reported on how ill-prepared the boomer generation is for retirement. What's worse is the future for younger generations who are now relying on their 401(k) for retirement. Today's guest explains how the 401(k) was never designed to be the sole retirement vehicle, but today is one of the only retirement vehicles for the young. John MacGregor, author of “Top 10 Reasons the Rich Go Broke” says, “Social Security is expected to run out by 2034, we're looking at the perfect storm, and people must get proactive and cannot bury their head in the sand.” Host Robert Kiyosaki and guest John MacGregor discuss the looming retirement crisis facing millions of people around the world.

We all define retirement differently. For most, it probably involves an island somewhere, a hammock, a good book, and a glass of wine sitting next to you as you relax for the first time in a long time. In this episode, paper asset experts discuss why for so many people across the globe this is a dream they’ll never realize, and how the 401(k) was never designed to make you rich.  As Tom Wheelwright, Rich Dad Advisor on taxes says, “These government-qualified retirement plans provide temporary tax benefits, but they’re also the reason most people will never be able to stop working for money.” Andy Tanner a Rich Dad Advisor and the author of “401(k)aos” and “Stock Market Cash Flow” says “If you plan to retire poor, the 401(k) is for you.” Hosts Robert & Kim Kiyosaki and guests John MacGregor and Andy Tanner discuss the tax advantages and disadvantages of paper assets like stock, bonds, mutual funds, and 401(k)s.  Tom Wheelwright: www.wealthability.com Learn more about your ad choices. Don’t think 2021 will be anything like 2020 in the stock market. In the United States, there are a lot of changes coming ahead, and the answer to protecting your 401(k) and pensions is to understand what is happening in these funds.  Today’s guests agree that the Feds have backed themselves into a corner and the only way they can keep the economy propped up is to print money and therefore inflating the stock market into an all-time high. As Robert Kiyosaki puts it, if you are prepared with financial education, you can survive no matter what the market does.  Rich Dad Advisor, Andy Tanner says, “Don’t be a Johnny-come-lately, you don’t put the seatbelt on during a car wreck.” And stresses the importance of financial education as the way for you to survive, financially speaking, in 2021.  Robert Kiyosaki and guests Andy Tanner & John MacGregor discuss their predictions for the paper assets market in 2021 and what you can do to protect your 401(k)s and pension plans.  Andy Tanner: www.TheCashflowAcademy.com John MacGregor: www.johnmacgregor.net Learn more about your ad choices. There are many reasons why public employee pension funds have grown so fast and one of them are promises. Governors and legislatures made pension promises to public employees but the problem was and still is that these governors and legislatures did not fund the pensions to match their promises. As a solution to the problem, in the 1980s, Wall Street began selling pension boards high risk “credit assets.”  The financially illiterate pension overseers blindly bought up these assets. To make matters worse, as public pensions failed to meet their overly optimistic return assumptions, Ted Siedle, Co-Author of Who Stole My Pension writes in his latest article in Forbes says, “Now the Department of Labor has paved the way for equity “wolves” to sell the highest cost, highest risk, most secretive investments ever devised by Wall Street to 401(k)s. As private equity is embraced, 401(k) costs will skyrocket, risk will dramatically increase and transparency will plummet.”  Host Robert Kiyosaki and guests Ted Siedle and John MacGregor discuss how agencies charged with protecting investors and retirement plans are taking greater risks and charging greater fees with a newly proposed exemption by the Securities & Exchange Commission.  John MacGregor, Author of The Top 10 Reasons the Rich Go Broke: www.johnmacgregor.net Ted Siedle, Co-Author Who Stole My Pension: http://www.siedlelawoffices.com Learn more about your ad choices. Her play Bound Feet Shoes: A Life Told In Shoes is Yang-May's personal story set against the tradition of foot binding, as practiced by her great-grandmother. The play explores Yang-May's experiences of being a Chinese-Malaysian woman in the UK, her coming out story, cultural reflections of what it means to be a woman, and an exploration into mother-daughter relationships. Bound Feet Blues: A Life Told In Shoes is at Tristan Bates Theatre in London Michael Portillo was an MP for nearly 20 years and held three ministerial positions in the Cabinet.
