Silent Push is revolutionizing threat intelligence by tracking threat actors' infrastructure setup before attacks occur. After selling his first cybersecurity company to FireEye and serving as VP of Products there, Ken Bagnall launched Silent Push to address fundamental gaps in how organizations detect and prevent cyber threats. The company has achieved remarkable traction, securing 50% of global Fortune 50 companies as customers within 18 months of launch. Topics Discussed: Evolution from traditional threat intelligence to proactive infrastructure monitoring Building a complex data collection and behavioral analytics platform Strategic focus on enterprise customers versus SMB market Leveraging research and expertise to drive brand awareness Balancing free community tools with enterprise sales motion Geographic expansion challenges and opportunities GTM Lessons For B2B Founders: Focus on markets that appreciate technical depth: Ken's first company struggled selling sophisticated email security through MSPs to SMBs who couldn't appreciate the technical value. After being acquired by FireEye, they discovered enterprise customers who deeply understood and valued their capabilities. This taught them to focus Silent Push exclusively on enterprise customers who can recognize and properly value technical innovation. "Shout loudly in a small room": Silent Push's early GTM strategy focused on penetrating tight-knit threat intelligence communities within industry verticals. By establishing themselves as experts in these concentrated groups and consistently sharing valuable insights, they built strong brand awareness among their exact target customers. The strategy proved highly effective, helping them land major enterprise accounts quickly. Build the right kind of community product: While many security companies struggle with free products, Silent Push succeeded by requiring user authentication, monitoring usage patterns to identify sophisticated users, and actively nurturing promising accounts. Ken emphasized that it's not purely product-led growth, but a "weird hybrid" approach tailored to their market position. Leverage research strategically: Rather than joining the "echo chamber" of threat research, Silent Push focuses on uncovering and publishing novel findings that demonstrate their unique capabilities. This approach not only builds credibility but creates content that can be monetized across multiple customer segments affected by the same threats. Take the right path to the CISO: Instead of pitching CISOs directly, Silent Push targets threat intelligence teams who can validate their technology hands-on and become strong internal champions. This circumvents initial skepticism about threat intelligence products at the CISO level by letting the technology prove itself first.

Rail Partners is a trade body that was set up to promote and focus on the interests of the private sector train operators, both passenger and freight, on the railway. But it has become a casualty of the Labour government's approach to railways and the increasing drive towards nationalisation of operators. Rail Partners announced recently that from March 2025 they will wind up their operations. They have been quite fierce critics of the approach being adopted that instead of combining the best of both worlds, public and private, seems rather ideologically wedded to one approach - a state-owned railway. Richard speaks to CEO Andy Bagnall in this revealing interview, and it's fair to say that whilst he was measured and courteous, he did not hold back. How successful have they tended to be in that strategy? “What evaluation isn't is templated counting amounts of easy to capture data points.”14 mins There are so many PR tools now. Indeed many of them are not specific tools to PR. How can PR folks navigate that media monitoring, social listening, audience integration, misinformation and emotion tool market?Editors note: Golin's Jonny Bentwood will present his PR Tools Review at PRmoment PR Masterclass in February. What does good data use by a PR firm look like?26 mins Should PR firms buy data tools or build them?30 mins Why the problem of PR people becoming overwhelmed in data is huge.32 mins PR's integration of data challenge: How are we doing? With a nod to AMEC's Integrated Evaluation Framework. “The whole concept of absolutism has to go out the window. You can't just chuck out data points. That's where derision happens.”37 mins Data storytelling is one of PRs words of the moment. How does that compare with the reality that PR remains in many ways an art form?

Former Fort Meade City Manager Jan Bagnall declined to be interviewed for the second part of our interview series after receiving multiple threats since our first interview aired on December 13th, or Episode 29. On New Year's Day, I received an email from a stranger named Greg King. I would later learn that he was the campaign manager for Jaret Williams, who one his Fort Meade commission race in November. I was unsure how to proceed and a little concerned based on some of the things Bagnall had shared. However, I was uncomfortable putting just one-side of the story out there without giving the "other side" equal time to make their case. So, I decided to respond to King's inquiry and we discussed the situation in Fort Meade on the phone. I recorded the call and feature it in this episode of the podcast. We also discussed the impending arrival of Pat Oman, the incoming city manager who was recently hired by the governing body without he input and consideration of Mr. Williams. Andrew Edwards sits down with Rob Bagnall - who's one of the biggest fans and experts on the Rocky Horror Show to discuss the show.
Wendy Bagnall is a photographic artist who lives in Surrey, England, the natural landscape being the inspiration behind her work.Wendy tells us about her unsettled feelings about her photography. She is unsure quite what's troubling her but finds herself in a funny phase, questioning lots of things, feeling a loss of identity and possibly a lack of a challenge. She's been doing a lot of reflecting and reading, not forcing anything, just giving herself space. Co-incidentally, Margaret finds herself in a similar situation and whilst not bored with photography itself, is bored with the same old conversations around the more superficial things such as technicals but is excited around conversations such as self compassion, perfectionism and creativity at a deeper level. They explore how this thoughtful, questioning period is necessary on occasions. Sometimes it's just time to rest and think things through which will hopefully result in more conscious and self-aware work. How to re-inspire yourself when in these lulls? They acknowledging that every so often you have to stop and take stock to ensure you're on the right track and, if not, choose a different path. Hear how they talk about new ways of exploring creativity, eg writing, video, painting etc. This candid, gentle chat gives lots to think about and it will be very interesting to hear how their lives have moved on when they next catch up.

In recognition of the 19 annual National Cyber Security Awareness Month, The Outcomes Rocket Network has launched a 10-part podcast series to elevate Cyber Security Awareness in Healthcare on our main channel, the Outcomes Rocket Podcast. Partnering with leaders in healthcare cybersecurity in their capacity as members of the Health Sector Coordinating Council, the podcast aims to illuminate advances made in protecting critical healthcare infrastructure and patient safety, and areas that need further focus to put a stop to Cyber Crime. Contract language is key to bringing cybersecurity to medical devices! In this episode, Saul Marquez chats with Dr. Jonathan Bagnall, the Cybersecurity Global Market Leader for Royal Philips Healthcare, about the Model Contract Language for Medtech Cybersecurity Document. He was part of developing this document where healthcare delivery organizations got together to establish the cybersecurity requirements for medical devices, forming partnerships with manufacturers with more trust and certainty of compliance. He discusses how contract language is a tool that, in the Medtech field, can create commitment without stifling innovation. Jonathan also explains how this document will improve medical devices' security by increasing performance, design, and maturity. Tune in to this episode to learn from Dr. Bagnall about the Model Contract Language for Medtech Cybersecurity Document! Wendy Bagnall is a landscape photographer based the south of England who's work was recently shown at the 2022 Royal Academy of Arts summer exhibition. Wendy's work is unrestricted and playful and she uses different techniques to interpret the landscape, creating images that to evoke an emotional connection with the viewer. Wendy got her first camera as a child but she went deeper into her photography during the pandemic when forced isolation gave her the opportunity to build a relationship with the landscape in her local area and fast-tracked her development as a photographer. Wendy is one of my favourite landscape photographers right now and this is definitely one of my favourite conversations I've had on the podcast. I found Wendy's whole attitude refreshing and inspirational and I came away from our time together thinking differently about my approach to my own photography. She feels most at home with her camera in the natural landscape, where she finds a quietness that serves her creativity.Join Margaret as she chats to Wendy about her life as a photographer, exploring what drives and motivates her. She beautifully illustrates her approach as 'seeing silence'. The next 12-18 months will hopefully see Wendy become a photographer full-time.Currently Wendy is concentrating on getting established for print sales and exhibiting. She has recently had a piece exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. She explains how she is working with a mentor to articulate her artist identity and compile a collection of work for exhibiting in the future.Wendy shares her thoughts on social media and believes that for her, the purpose of Instagram is to share, explore and connect with other photographers. Although it is a bit of a double-edged sword, she loves the sense of community and belonging she gains. This interesting exchange gives a beautiful insight into Wendy's philosophy. https://www.wendybagnall.com/https://www.instagram.com/wendybagnall_/

It has been more than 10 years since Richard Bagnall filed suit against Kathleen Sebelius, in her role as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Since then, the case has been recaptioned several times, and bounced back and forth between the U.S. District Court for Connecticut and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. But the class-action suit, now known as Barrows v. Becerra, finally now has a decision from the latter.RACmonitor's physician and attorney, John K. Hall, will return to the Monitor Mondays broadcast to report on whether the decision is reason for you to get excited – or just shrug.Other segments to be featured during the live broadcast include the following:Risky Business: Healthcare attorney David Glaser, shareholder in the law offices of Fredrikson & Bryon, will join the broadcast with his trademark segment.Monday Rounds: Ronald Hirsch, MD, vice president of R1 RCM, will be making his Monday Rounds with another installment of his popular segment.Legislative Update: Former Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) official Matthew Albright, now chief legislative affairs officer for Zelis, will report on current healthcare legislation.SDoH Report: Tiffany Ferguson, a subject matter expert on the social determinants of health (SDoH), will report on the news that's happening at the intersection of healthcare regulations and the SDoH.
Despite not having as much trouble with Anatolia as his father, Antiochus II is still going to face a not-inconsiderable struggle upon his accession. This week, we're going to explore the Chremonideian War which kept Ptolemy II occupied until 261 BCE, and introduce some of the underlying causes of the Second Syrian War... Do you know or are you someone who struggles to get started on a task, gets easily distracted, is always excited by the “next exciting thing”, who is constantly late, losing things, who finds it difficult to keep their emotions controlled, does not seem to have a very flexible approach to life or does not seem to really understand themselves or how they are functioning? It could be that they are struggling with their Executive Functions. These functions are what allow us to execute our lives, get stuff done, keep track of our things and function as efficiently as possible. They are located in the “new” part of the brain, the pre-frontal cortex, and they are vital for a calm and fulfilled life. Victoria Bagnall is a pioneer in the field of executive function skills development and passionately believes that applying the latest developments in neuroscience is the key to unlocking the potential of the human brain. She regards poor executive functions as the bottleneck to productivity and is committed to working with people of all ages to help them overcome their executive function challenges in order to flourish.Victoria is the Co-Founder of Connections in Mind, an organisation of highly motivated team of experts committed to supporting executive function development in both children, adolescents, education providers and adults. In this fascinating and vitally important chat we discuss her story from dyslexic, “out of place” child to reading Geography at Cambridge while still managing some fairly troublesome challenges with her executive functions.A small discussion on how to write an essay is followed by the question of the moment: “What are executive functions?” and why do people not know more about them. It appears no one has a perfect EF profile but for between 20 and 40% of the population are “neurodiverse” and find tasks that “neurotypical” people find easy, very hard. This tendency to not be able to do what is seen as basic functions in life can lead to great feelings of shame as parents, teachers, bosses label these people “lazy”, “over emotional” and “stupid”. Yet, these issues are not character traits or personality flaws, they are skills like any other – learning to walk, riding a bike, driving a car… you can learn to improve them and make them work for you.But you need to look after yourself. You need to eat well, sleep well, do the things that make you feel good so that the better you feel, the more able to are to engage that part of the brain and fight off the “old” prehistoric, instinctual brain that puts you into fight, flight or freeze mode on a daily basis. We discuss the classroom, life at home and the workforce and how all these places could be so much less difficult if only we all understood what this all meant.Victoria is passionate about all of this and it shines throughout her interview how much she wants people to know about this and to talk about it more. You will hear a lot more from me in this episode than in many of the others because this is something that has affected me all my life (without me knowing) and now affects my 10 year old daughter.Victoria's company is Connections in Mind and her website is www.connectionsinmind.comYou can get hold of her on Facebook on @connectionsinmind On Instagram on @connectionsinmindVictoria is on LinkedIn as Victoria BagnallThe survey she refers to with 10,000 people taking the EF test is here su.vc/executivefunctionTo find the books she was talking about “Smart but Scattered” please look here https://www.smartbutscatteredkids.com/books/Adele Diamond's (leading EF researcher) brilliant article on nourishing the human spirit and Executive Functions here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4210770/And finally, Russell Barkley's findings on the links between ADHD and EF/self regulation are here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4210770/
