The nearly 15% euro-dollar rally in 1H was fueled largely by dollar weakness and a potentially bullish cyclical case for the euro — especially expectations for a supportive fiscal and monetary policy mix — which may continue to support the outlook into 2H. Bloomberg Intelligence's Chief G10 FX Strategist Audrey Childe-Freeman talks to Constantin Bolz, head of G10 FX for UBS' Chief Investment Office, about how evolving euro-area and US fiscal and monetary policy may help euro-dollar strength into 2H and beyond, depending on how the US economic story plays out. They also discuss the de-dollarization trend and how the SNB could address the challenge of an appreciating franc.

Chuck Todd reacts to the news that North Carolina senator Thom Tillis won't seek reelection, why harassment from the Trump team led to his decision, and why his decision gives Democrats another opportunity to pick up a senate seat in the 2026 midterm elections. He also highlights the path for Democrats to win the senate in 26' and cautions Republicans about the potential of a Democratic president abusing their power in a similar way to Trump. Then, Chuck sits down with renowned pollster Kristen Soltis Anderson to dissect the seismic shifts in American politics following the 2024 election. They dive deep into the surprising demographic realignments that defined Trump's victory, including his unprecedented gains with young and Latino voters, while exploring whether traditional demographic-based political messaging has become obsolete. Anderson shares insights from Pew Research's unique voter validation methodology and explains why the biggest story of 2024 wasn't who showed up to vote, but rather the millions of Biden 2020 supporters who stayed home. The conversation spans from foreign policy contradictions—where only 8% support attacking Iran but majorities back preventing Iranian nuclear weapons—to the evolving nature of political coalitions and whether we're witnessing a return to pre-Obama era electoral patterns. Anderson and Todd examine the psychological profile of different generations, particularly Gen Z's political malleability and loss of societal trust shaped by COVID, while discussing the future challenges facing pollsters as AI technology threatens traditional survey methodology. They conclude by analyzing whether 2024 represented a "vote for" or "vote against" election, and how both parties must adapt to meet an increasingly anti-establishment electorate. Finally, Chuck answers listeners' questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment about baseball, the media, and the prospects of Republican congressman Mike Lawler running for governor in New York.Timeline:(Timestamps may vary based on advertisements)00:00 Introduction01:00 Senator Thom Tillis won't seek reelection02:00 Tillis struggled to fully embrace Trumpism/MAGA03:00 Tillis felt harassed by the Trump team05:30 Rep. Nick Hodge – Making Sense Of The Macro Market Movers, And Bullish Outlook On Select Oil, Copper, Nuclear, Uranium, and Rare Earth Stocks

Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us for a longer-format discussion on and the macro and micro themes that are continuing to create volatility in the general equities, bonds, and commodities market, and how he has been using these moves to position in oil, copper, nuclear, uranium, and rare earths stocks.   We start off reviewing themes touched upon in our prior discussion where Nick reiterated his stance that general US equity markets would rebound, and that we are not seeing macroeconomic data that is signaling a dive into an immediate recession or depression.  He outlines how there has been improved GDP estimates for Q2 over Q1 and expects that trend to continue.  We've seen inflation ticking up modestly on the back of stronger commodities prices and when that has been paired with the outperformance of the industrials sector, these foreshadow more economic expansion and growth on tap for later in this year, albeit, after a potential summer slowdown.  We talk how the markets so overreacted in the tariff tantrums a couple of months ago, and that despite the pause in the reciprocal tariffs coming off in 2 weeks, that the market is not being as reactionary and has had steady progress to the upside.     Nick remains bullish on oil & gas, copper, nuclear, uranium, and rare earth stocks because is anticipated a continued reflationary trade across the commodities complex.  for fundamental reasons as well as recent pricing strength momentum.  He noted again playing domestic copper and base metals production through companies like Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (NYSE: FCX); he was also active last year and early this year putting capital to work in junior copper exploration companies.   Shifting over to all the macro tailwinds in the nuclear and uranium sector, we discuss the 4 new Trump administration executive orders on the nuclear industry, the new reactor builds announced in New York, Great Britain, the capital being raised by SMR companies including Bill Gates TerraPower, and the further announcements from large technology companies like Meta that is going to partner with Constellation to source more nuclear power to fuel their digital futures.  Nick outlines that while small modular reactor stocks like NuScale Power Corporation (NYSE: SMR), Nano Nuclear Energy Inc (NYSE: NNE), and Oklo Inc (NYSE: OKLO) have surged, that he believes it will be the companies that can supply the market with the necessary nuclear fuel, uranium, that he is most constructive on for future value appreciation.    He mentioned using the sector pullback a couple of months back to add to his position in the junior uranium mining ETF (URNJ) and that he is maintaining positions in Energy Fuels Inc. (TSX: EFR) (NYSE American: UUUU) and Denison Mines Corp. (TSX: DML) (NYSE American: DNN), while researching companies like IsoEnergy Ltd. (NYSE American: ISOU) (TSX: ISO) and Homeland Uranium Corp. (TSXV: HLU) (OTCQB: HLUCF) as domestic North American companies that can benefit from the coming price response to the clear supply/demand imbalances in the market.   The discussion on Energy Fuels, also brings in their exposure to producing rare earths, and how this is still a part of the commodities sector that he remains bullish on moving forward.  Nick reminds listeners of one of the ways he has been playing rare earths recycling through a position in CoTec Holdings Corp. (TSXV:CTH)(OTCQB:CTHCF), and how this position has been performing quite well over the last few months.   Click here to follow Nick's analysis and publications over at Digest Publishing

Markets enjoyed a very nice rally on Tuesday, up by about 1% by the end of the day. A little bit of a sell-off right before the end of the session restrained markets from achieving another all-time high. The trajectory of the market remains bullish. Lance discusses progress since the Death Cross in the Spring; the difference between when a Death Cross matters or not is whether a Recession occurs afterwards. The NASDAQ is actually at all-time highs, triggering a "Golden Cross." If the NASDAQ continues to set new, all-time highs, it will drag the S&P with it. Despite these achievements, we're still expecting some sloppiness in the markets; use any dips as an opportunity to buy at lower prices. Markets on Monday were under a bit of pressure because of the weekend bombings in Iran and their nothing-burger response. Markets broke out of their consolidation and ended the day in the green, retaining a bullish stance. Markets held support at a previous top, and proved multiple levels on which there is solid footing. Unfortunately, there's not a tremendous amount of upside from where we are now, but technicals are improving. The downside risk is down to 2,800, and there is about 100-points of upside, so the risk/reward is not great enough to be super-aggressive. Pay attention to slowing economic growth, and the a Federal Reserve that is content to hold pat on interest rates for now.  Hosted by RIA Chief Investment Strategist, Lance Roberts, CIO  Produced by Brent Clanton, Executive Producer ------- Watch today's video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiUwcZ7ujqU&list=PLwNgo56zE4RAbkqxgdj-8GOvjZTp9_Zlz&index=1 ------- Get more info & commentary:  https://realinvestmentadvice.com/insights/real-investment-daily/ ------- Register for our next live webinar, "Financial Independence Candid Coffee," June 28, 2025: https://streamyard.com/watch/BUr4UuRVt6Uj ------- Visit our Site: https://www.realinvestmentadvice.com Contact Us: 1-855-RIA-PLAN -------- Subscribe to SimpleVisor: https://www.simplevisor.com/register-new -------- Connect with us on social: https://twitter.com/RealInvAdvice https://twitter.com/LanceRoberts https://www.facebook.com/RealInvestmentAdvice/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/realinvestmentadvice/ #MarketRally #MarketConsolidation #BullishMarket #IranIsraelConflict #20DMA #50DMA #100DMA #200DMA #InvestingAdvice #Money #Investing

A Bullish Case for Large Cap U.S. Equities

While market sentiment on U.S. large caps turns cautious, our Chief CIO and U.S. Equity Strategist Mike Wilson explains why there's still room to stay constructive.Read more insights from Morgan Stanley.----- Transcript -----Welcome to Thoughts on the Market. I'm Mike Wilson, Morgan Stanley's CIO and Chief U.S. Equity Strategist. Today on the podcast, I'll be discussing why we remain more constructive than the consensus on large cap U.S. equities – and which sectors in particular. It's Monday, June 16th at 9:30am in New York. So, let's get after it. We remain more constructive on U.S. equities than the consensus mainly because key gauges we follow are pointing to a stronger earnings backdrop than others expect over the next 12 months. First, our main earnings model is showing high-single-digit Earnings Per Share growth over the next year. Second, earnings revision breadth is inflecting sharply higher from -25 percent in mid-April to -9 percent today. Third, we have a secondary Earnings Leading model that takes into account the cost side of the equation; and that one is forecasting mid-teens Earnings Per Share growth by the first half of 2026. More specifically, it's pointing to higher profitability due to cost efficiencies. Interestingly, this was something we heard frequently last week at the Morgan Stanley Financials Conference with many companies highlighting the adoption of Artificial Intelligence to help streamline operations. Finally, the most underappreciated tailwind for S&P 500 earnings remains the weaker dollar which is down 11 percent from the January highs. As a reminder, our currency strategists expect another 7 percent downside over the next 12 months. The combination of a stronger level of earnings revisions breadth and a robust rate of change on earnings revisions breadth since growth expectations troughed in mid-April is a powerful tailwind for many large cap stocks, with the strongest impact in the Capital Goods and Software industries. These industries have compelling structural growth drivers. For Capital Goods, it's tied to a renewed focus on global infrastructure spending. The rate of change on capacity utilization is in positive territory for the first time in two and a half years and aggregate commercial and industrial loans are growing again, reaching the highest level since 2020. The combination of structural tech diffusion and a global infrastructure focus in many countries is leading to a more capital intensive backdrop. Bonus depreciation in the U.S. should be another tailwind here – as it incentivizes a pickup in equipment investment, benefitting Capital Goods companies most directly. Meanwhile, Software is in a strong position to drive free cash flow via GenAI solutions from both a revenue and cost standpoint. Another sector we favor is large cap financials which could start to see meaningful benefits of de-regulation in the second half of the year. The main risk to our more constructive view remains long term interest rates. While Wednesday's below consensus consumer price report was helpful in terms of keeping yields contained, we find it interesting that rates did not fall on Friday with the rise in geopolitical tensions. As a result, the 10-year yield remains in close distance of our key 4.5 percent level, above which rate sensitivity should increase for stocks. On the positive side, interest rate volatility is well off its highs in April and closer to multi-year lows. Our long-standing Consumer Discretionary Goods underweight is based on tariff-related headwinds, weaker pricing power and a late cycle backdrop, which typically means underperformance of this sector. Staying underweight the group also provides a natural hedge should oil prices rise further amid rising tensions in the Middle East. We also continue to underweight small caps which are hurt the most from higher oil prices and sticky interest rates. These companies also suffer from a weaker dollar via higher costs and a limited currency translation benefit on the revenue side given their mostly domestic operations. Finally, the concern that comes up most frequently in our client discussions is high valuations. Our more sanguine view here is based on the fact that the rate of change on valuation is more important than the level. In our mid-year outlook, we showed that when Earnings Per Share growth is above the historical median of 7 percent, and the Fed Funds Rate is down on a year-over-year basis, the S&P 500's market multiple is up 90 percent of the time, regardless of the starting point. In fact, when these conditions are met, the S&P's forward P/E ratio has risen by 9 percent on average. Therefore, our forecast for the market multiple to stay near current levels of 21.5x could be viewed as conservative. Should history repeat and valuations rise 10 percent, our bull case for the S&P 500 over the next year becomes very achievable. Thanks for tuning in; I hope you found this episode informative and useful. Markets sold off slightly on Friday on concerns over the Iran-Israel conflict, down to the 20-DMA, which has been good support for markets. Markets remain over bought, and markets started on Friday to work off some of that "overboughtedness, and this morning futures are pointing higher. Interestingly, while retail investors are fully into the markets, institutional investors have been woefully underweight equities, and have some catching up to do. As markets continue to push higher, each of the interim dips are being bought up by institutional investors, which will continue to be the case as we approach the end of this month, and the end of the quarter, the end of the reporting period for hedge funds and portfolios. We believe the next two weeks will see more buying pressure as these groups reallocate capital to bolster their portfolio performance. The US Dollar, meanwhile, has been under pressure, trying to set a double bottom in order to set up for a counter-trend rally. There's a ton of negative sentiment on the Dollar, with the short-dollar trade the most over-crowded, presently. Something will cause a shift back into the US Dollar, and create a potential rally to between $97 and $103. A stronger Dollar will attract foreign investors back into the US, with a positive effect on domestic markets.
